I really like this russian edition of classic books. Letting famous artists do the covers in YA style was such a simple but clever decision. According to the recent study the number of teenage readers increased, possibly thanks to these covers. I own traditional classics with blank covers but if I ever see one of these in the wild, itâll probably make me go feral.
Here are some of my favs:
Dracula (art by Renibet)
2.Jane Eyre (art by Ulunii)
3. Little women (art by Ńаки Ńаки)

5. Pride and Prejudice (art by Cactusute)
6. War and Peace (art by Xinshi)
7. Wuthering Heights (art by Renibet)

This is part of a bigger drawing but it looks good like this too
Anyone elseâs dogs try to gaslight them into thinking they havenât been fed? Cause my dogs fucking do. My sister will feed them in the morning and then theyâll come to me all pathetic wanting food and Iâll feed them so they get two breakfastâs. We didnât even know we were being played so hard until one of us mentioned we fed the dogs and the other was like âwait, I fed the dogs.â
And now, these assholes are mad because we havenât been feeding them twice!? They live here with no rent and have the audacity!?

You know, now that the Epic Concept Album is done, I hope we get some dialogue from in between songs. Specifically, I think Polities death would be a lot more impactful if we got him interacting with Odysseus more.
âOpen Armsâ is a great song but it is a bit jarring the shift between it and Full Speed Ahead. I think if we got a bit of speaking between Polities and Odysseus before it starts where Polities tells Odysseus that the war is over and that he doesnât need to be as tense. Obviously the whole âthrowing an infant off a wallâ is messing with him and Polities wanting to help him feel better about it could add a lot to his character.
Obviously, Polities dies in the second saga so thereâs not a lot of time to give him a lot of development but his impact lasts throughout the other seven so I think the musical would really benefit from a bit more of him. We hear him in The Underworld, 600 strikes, and even in the last saga the term âopen armsâ is used during when Odysseus kills the suitors. The other sailors even mention âEverythingâs Changed Since Politiesâ during Keep Your Friends Close showing how important his trusting and positive outlook was to the crew. (I am even of the opinion that this particular line implies that the crew would not be doubting Odysseus about the windbag if Polities was still around).
He is undoubtedly one of the most important characters in Odysseusâ outlook and how his arc goes so I just wish we got a bit more of their interactions outside of open arms.
"Svsss through Binghes POV" do you know how absurd it would be. Binghe would narrate everything in extreme detail except the stuff that's actually plot important
"Woke up holding shizun. His robe had slipped off his shoulder during the night and it made him look extra cute. I begged him to wake up for a while before it was time to start the day... I kissed his forehead and said I'd be right back with breakfast. I used the last of my onion in the scrambled eggs and while they were sizzling on the stove I heard something from shizuns room. I got excited thinking he woke up and ran in.
It was just Liu Qingge broke through my wall to tell me I'm officially Cang Qiongâs enemy or something I beat him up
By the time I got back to the kitchen, the eggs had burnt. I had to start over, but I used the last of my onions on the last batch, so these weren't as tasty. I presented them to shizun and apologized but he refused to eat it (most definitely because the food was so bad and not because he's dead)"
...I think you started writing, like, Cang Qiong Psycho.
I've gotten over my fear of posting my practice/warmup doodles and I'm going to make it your problem
âCumplaneâ is legit the ultimate ship name. First of all, it combines both of there names and makes a sex joke. Iconic. But second of all, it is a homophone to âcomplainâ which is something they both do an awful a lot of.

Heaven Officialâs Blessing except I havenât read the book, remember nothing of the donghua, and saw a few spoilers.
And here it is, the final part! 12 parts, 36 pages, and 4 months of work, and an incredible community that accompanied me along the way! Thank you so much for your support!
Until we meet again!
Let's go read the books now!
Part 1Â |Â <<Previous Part<<Â | Final Part
Hualian's big mantou and Fengqing's errr prince-ss? Not very polished, as I wasn't going to post it since it was just for my own amusement. However, I thought someone else might enjoy it.
I have an arch enemy and his name is Qi Rong. Itâs because heâs lame with his aesthetic. What do you mean you have a sick as fuck name like âThe Night Touring Green Lanturnâ and you hang bodies from the roof to replicate Hua Chengâs blood rain?!
Like sure, cannibalism sucks and all but he also disrespected the color green. All the calamities have a color associated with them and he does jack-shit with his!!!
Crimson Rain, rains blood. Black Water, has black water filled with bone dragons in his domain. Cool as fuck. Qi Rong, puts fucking green candles on his minions heads! Thatâs so fucking lame!!!!
He spends all his time trying to copy Hua Cheng (with the blood rain) and Black Water (with the eating people) that he does nothing original. As a fan of the color green, this is so disrespectful!!!
He could have a glowing green light or coming in his heart cavity so the first thing you see is the rhythmic beating of his heart in the distance. So ominous! So aesthetic! But mans does nothing except comply the other ghost kings cause heâs lame. The color green deserves better!!
Hey, weird thing we as the Tgcf fandom donât talk about much, Black Water lowkey was a god. Like, obviously he took the place of the OG Earth Master and was only truly disguised, but he had been in that role for a decent amount of time and had temples and shit. And he took 9th at the lantern festival. Did he still listen to prayers after he killed the water master? Was he good as a god?
We know so little about Black Water itâs insane.
XL's narrative dispositive this, HC's essays about devotion that and we aren't talking about the most important thing about this damn books
Where the blood comes from?????
Don't get me wrong, I love the blood rain aesthetic just fine. Gotta respect the hustle of a drama queen, but WHERE DOES IT COMES FROM???
I mean I can make some sense of it appearing after a battle, I can accept a slaughter making the blood of your enemies pour down out the sky, but it doesn't happen only in these circumstances nonono my man Hua Cheng is making the BLOODY RAINING at random when he thinks the time is right and I can only guess he has a STOCK OF IT just a whisk of magic away or Yin Yu is pouring buckets of blood from a mountain somewhere every time his boss wants to act like a baddie
No cause, it gets more insane the more you think about it (and use math). For the size of a football field, one hour of 1/2 an inch of rain is about 19,200 gallons of water raining from the sky. In the show, after defeating Qi Rong, it rains blood for what I estimate is about 2 minutes. This means that for the entire area, 640 gallons of blood fell from the goddamn sky!!
For an adult human being, the body has about an average of 1.2-1.5 gallons of blood (according to Google).
Where is he getting all this blood?!
Also in the donguha, he pulls out his umbrella moments before it began raining suggesting that he is aware when it is going to rain blood! So where is the blood coming from?!?
Several theories on how this could happen.
One, Hua Cheng can chemically change rain into blood. Would probably be his coolest ability because anyone familiar with blood knows that scientists have yet to make blood in a lab. This is why blood drives are so important as there is no other way to acquire blood. This however proposes other questions. What blood type is the rain? How does he chemically change it? Could this blood possibly be used for life changing blood transfusions?!
Two, Hua Cheng kills the remaining ghosts in the area and their blood becomes the rain. This would mean about 430 ghosts would be destroyed and turned into rain. I can see there being that many ghosts left over from the Qi Rong raid. The only problem with this theory is we donât know how blood works with ghosts cause, you know, theyâre dead. Since we donât know that, we need more info about ghosts to make this decision.
Three, Hua Cheng has a stash of blood somewhere in Ghost City he summons the blood from. This is my personal theory. Nothing states that the blood from the sky is human blood. It could be animal blood. Perhaps he has an animal farm for elephants (which have approximately 45 gallons of blood in their system) that he gets it from. (Thatâs a joke guys, I doubt Hua Cheng has that many elephants. He probably has pigs or something). This also could suggest that Yin Yu also has a job in maintaining a farm solely for the purpose of Hua Chengâs aesthetic. Which I think is funny. Give this man a raise Hua Cheng, he needs it.
Anyway, Iâve hyper fixated on this. So uh, hereâs a summary of what Iâve found.

Hua Cheng got his name, Crimson Rain Sought Flower, cause of blood raining from the sky while he protected a flower right. Where does the blood come from. Like, fire aesthetic, 10/10 vibes that would fit an overpowered ghost king. But like, where does the blood come from!?
Is the rain just chemically changing into blood, something scientifically impossible as of the moment? Could this blood be used for helping people with diseases in need of blood transfusions? Could Hua Cheng be the answer doctors have been searching fo?!
Or is he like teleporting it from somewhere. If he is, where is he getting all this blood? Assuming that it is raining blood in moderate amount (approximately 1/2 inch of rain) for an hour in an area of approximately 6400 square yards (size of a football field), that would be about 19200 gallons of blood. Where would he get all this blood? For context, an African Elephant has around 65 gallons of blood volume. And Yin Yu definitely is not paid enough to acquire that much blood for Hua Cheng.
There are many mysteries and unknowns from Heaven Officalâs Blessing, however, I think the most pressing matter is this blood.
One of my favorite things about Tgcf is that, canonically, Hua Cheng would be represented by a fox. Truly the most accurate animal I can think of, so good on you mxtx. And, one thing about foxes is that they sound like theyâre giggling when excited (Google it, itâs adorable).
Now, picture this, AU where Hua Cheng appears as a fox to Xie Lian instead of his original San Lang skin. Imagine Xie Lian just traveling around with a fox following after him who gets into mischief just to make Xie Lian smile.
Also, this fox just passive aggressively laughing at people. Like, Mu Qing and Feng Xin are insisting that this little fox Xie Lian picked up is some evil ghost king or whatever and Xie Lian is like âguys, heâs a fox, calm down.â And then he scoops up the fox and walks in the other direction while the fox looks over his shoulder back at them, and starts snickering.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
