Destiny means the WORLD to me. I first played its free trial when I got my own Xbox One and from minute one I was hooked, mainly because I found Exos to be insanely cool (still one of my favorite aspects of the lore). That was right after Taken King had come out and I sunk endless hours into that trial before actually buying the game (given I was 12 at the time there was not a steady cash flow). I kept the Exo but I would delete and make new characters often since you could only get to level 7 and only patrol Earth. Once I did have the game though I powered through every campaign with my friends just in time for the April Update and before I knew it I was logging on daily and it’s been with me ever since during my highs and lows.

When I first saw the announcement I didn’t want to believe it because it was so…sudden. Despite Bungie being silent I had faith there’d be a big bounce back with the update but then to be told it’d also be the end of the game was heartbreaking. The series I loved that was growing alongside me was now ending never to grow for the foreseeable future. An Ahamkara would love me because I would wish in a heartbeat not caring about whatever twist they pull to undo this but alas here we are.

To the team over at Bungie, thank you for your years of work on this franchise and all the love you put into it. The lore, art styles, music, and gameplay are all fantastic and through all that I’ve fallen in love with it. Seeing, reading, and playing in this universe has been some of the best moments of my life and I wouldn’t be here today without them. Narrative crew you guys have always knocked it out of the park, besides The Veil but if things are to be believed Lightfall as a whole wasn’t your original vision, and have produced some of my favorite stories and characters. Dev crew I want you to know I’ve found enjoyment in every gameplay addition and change you’ve done and while some things definitely could’ve spent more time in the oven I was never put off. Sound and music team I’m gonna miss you a lot. This music is some of my highest listened to music of all time. I throw on my playlist that has every released track for studying, sleeping, working, anything really and it’s always a vibe. Again thank all of you for working so hard to deliver us more of this incredible universe for the past twelve years.

To my fellow Guardians, though the future is uncertain we must never give up. There are still new Guardians joining everyday and old veterans coming back that’ll need help around the system. Let’s show them we’re still very much an active playerbase and that this is a franchise worth saving. Much like a lot of you I’ve been trying to figure out what to say and held off until I got the Immortal title and saw Zavala’s cutscene (which I did last night!) if this is truly the end then I’m glad to say I was here and able to experience it all. Nearly half my life has been happened alongside Destiny and I wouldn’t trade any of it for anything. I will continue to love this game and universe until the day I die.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted and I’m now looking to be more active and what better way than introducing you guys to my Guardians starting with my Warlock and their Ghost! Feel free to ask them questions, they’ll answer!

Orion-17 is, obviously, an Exo with a masculine frame and uses He/They pronouns. He was resurrected just outside the Cosmodrome, shocking I know, and is a bit on the introverted side. His best talents lie with Arc and Stasis abilities but is still well enough versed in the other subclasses, though he’s not the greatest at controlling Void.

As a curious and adventurous Warlock, Orion greatly prefers field work to spending long hours in the Vanguard Archives. They’ll have Astoria give them the run down and basics but prefer to observe with their own eyes with the Vex being a favorite to study. Much like Osiris and Asher Mir he loves to get as hands as on as possible when he can when studying the Vex. Maya’s Choral Vex and the Tharsis Reformation have provided many such opportunities for study, a pleasing task compared to finding out what the Vex Mythoclast is.

When not out trying to understand the Vex, Orion is typically found on Europa going through the Bray facility files uncovering their secrets. Against Clovis’ wishes of course. He does so in hopes of finding out more about himself as well as what secrets the link between the Vex, Exos, and a Dissenter statue could really hold. Truly a researcher at heart but he does enjoy hanging with his clanmates and Astoria the most.

Now onto Orion’s second half Astoria! Similar to Orion, Astoria uses She/They pronouns. She’s just as, if not more, adventurous as Orion which is what led to his resurrection in the first place. The stark difference between the two is how extroverted she is compared to him. Together, however, they make a strong and daring duo that’s unafraid to go out and find the answers they seek. The ring that orbits around their shell is an Arc field Orion made that is strong enough to block one bullet (fun little headcannon I made). He reapplies it every time she gets shot at.

Not everything has always been sunshine and rainbows between the two though. During the arrival of the Pyramid ships and the events on Europa, when the call to the Darkness was at its strongest, they rarely saw eye to eye anymore. The longer they were on Europa around Stasis, the BrayTech Facility, and the Darkness Astoria feared she would lose her Guardian, a fear that almost became real when they confronted Eramis. Things were still a little rocky once everything settled down, not easy getting over a near-death experience, but they never lost faith in each other and she could not be more proud of her Guardian.
