We all want to be close slaves of Allah but we don't realise how we become the slaves of our own desires instead of Allah. And one of the main ways how we become slaves of our own whims and desires is by seeking comfort in everything. We prioritise comfort over Ibadah that is why we delay our prayer and skip the sunnah bcz it's more comfortable to lay in bed and scroll phone even though it would've taken nearly 5 minutes to pray the sunnah. We don't wake up for Tahajjud not because we can't but because it is uncontrollable to get up, we don't stay up until Ishraq after Fajr because we prefer sleep and comfort more. This doesn't only apply to Ibadah but simply getting anything done in life. If you choose comfort you fail.
We always say that we want to be disciplined not knowing there is no discipline without discomfort.
Seeking too much comfort will destroy you. It is not at all more peaceful to sleep than praying Tahajjud but we have been deceived to believe so.
We need to take lessons from our beloved Prophet Muhammah (pbuh) when he missed Tahajjud prayer once because his wife made his bed more comfortable than usual he told her to make the bed like she used to before from next time on so that he doesn't miss Tahajjud again. That is the level of Imaan he had and we should all aim to be like him.
