i know it all happened during the contemporary time of summer 2006, but did someone happen to have the technology to videotape the “Save Danny Phantom” viacom protest? i need a video of that shit because HOLY HELL was it filled with passion. you know what im talking about:
they were giving out free candy and playing episodes on a few TVs. this is iconic as hell
holy shit, according to the online relic DP forums, these rallies were fuckin all over the place. did no one ever stop to videotape one of them???
im shitting myself. there were multiple rallies for saving Danny in multiple locations throughout the years. not only that but it’s so much more elaborate than i could’ve ever imagined. They made a whole travel guide on how to get there with a set of rules, maps, registrations, and list of hotels of contacts. This is some serious level of devotion to a cartoon, especially in 2007-2009. how the fuck does no one ever bring this up??
Hi, yes, I actually attended the 09 Rally in LA (my parents surprised me with a trip across the country and I’ll always be grateful for them doing that for me and my love of DP)!
It was the last Save Danny Rally being held, and Butch was rumored to attend (he did! Though I didn’t get to meet him due to a lucky/unlucky chance of getting free tickets to the KCAs that were being held in the same place).
Since I had a crappy flip phone back then and a disposable camera, taking video wasn’t something I did (probably same boat for others). Here are a few pics I DID take, however!
The admin on the DPOF made the signs and set-up for the table. It looked so cool - they even made little gifts for the attendees! I still have them. They were old DP Campbell’s soup containers with DP stickers and pins inside.
The rally itself was SO. FUN. Seriously, my parents were really concerned that it was being organized by creepers preying on kids online but I’m so glad they took the chance to go because everyone there was super nice!
We were all able to come together and gush over the show while walking around with our “Save Danny” signs asking people to sign our petition to bring the show back.
I was surprised/ecstatic at how many random people told us how much they loved/missed the show and gladly signed.
I actually did my senior year college story/scrapbook for my writing class ABOUT this experience. That’s how much of a positive impact it had on me. Here’s a sample of it:
I share even more information about the trip as well as pictures and memorabilia throughout the book…if people are interested, I would be happy to share it on here too! ^^
Been really loving the ghost king danny-with-a-crown imagery
and also the idea of a dead, ghostly, blank stare. Suppose Danny ever just zones out and sam and tucker get all worried and then he snaps out of it as if nothing happened??? Yeah. That idea has been occupying my thoughts.

The old ways are still painful. Angst week: Corruption.
SO sorry this is late. This is Little Lion King Adjacent but not cannon yet. His King form will be cannon eventually. It’ll just show up when he goes feral. you’ll see.
Enjoy!
-DP-
Chester was worried for his King.
He knew the meeting with the observants would go wrong.
And he knew the young halfa would lock himself away like this.
“My king, please let me in.” Chester pleaded as he rapped his knuckles on the door of the King’s room once again.
“Go away, Chester. "Danny growled from the other side of the door. His voice was deep and raspy. Every word sounded like it was gargled with gravel and sand.
Ice shot through the jester. He had never heard his King sound like that before.
He knew his King couldn’t help it right now. But it didn’t make the voice any less terrifying.
"Y-you shouldn’t be alone right now.” Chester pleaded again.
“I could hurt you.” Danny’s voice was a low hiss this time, but still very guttural.
“You still have a day or two before the solstice, my King. You won’t..” his words died in his mouth. How was he supposed to comfort his King, knowing what was about to happen?
There was no comfort in this.
Chester had witnessed this barbaric tradition many times.
It happened every 600 years on the dot. He was hoping that it was something that the cruel kings of the past did because of some sick satisfaction. Because if it was just that, then that meant king Phantom wouldn’t be forced to…
His thoughts paused when he heard his King’s soft keening from the other side of the door. His core felt like it was going to shatter.
He couldn’t let him be alone like this.
“Will you please just let me in so I can comfort you.” Chester pleaded.
“I said no, Chester. I’m sorry.” Danny replied. His rough voice was warbly.
“Please,” Chester tried again; his own voice was starting to waver. “You don’t understand how much hearing you like this hurts. My core feels like it’s going to crack.”
“You’re hurting?” King Phantom growled before briefly pausing. “I didn’t mean for that to sound… I’m sorry…I don’t want…you to hurt.”
Chester could tell that Danny was having trouble pronouncing words.
“It’s okay. Your body is changing. I know you’re not mad.” Chester said softly.
“The change hurts.” Danny whimpered. “I’m so hungry.”
Chester’s stomach twisted into knots hearing that. His mind flashed back to all of the previous solstices that he survived by hiding in his bound item. He remembered hearing the screams of former castle staff as the kings of the past brutally tore into them like a starved animal.
“That’s why I don’t want…” King Phantom was having trouble finding the words. “You…smell too good to be near me safely right now.”
“King Phantom….” Chester was beside himself. He didn’t know what to say. He couldn’t picture King Phantom ever being so cruel or out of control with bloodlust and hunger. It wasn’t his nature. It just wasn’t.
“All the voices want me to do it too.”
“V-voices?” Chester asked, shocked out of his train of thought. His core was hammering in his chest. King Phantom couldn’t….he couldn’t go mad like the other Kings.
Chester felt tears prick at his eyes.
“They sound like the Harmony, but they feel older. Darker.” Danny rasped, sounding utterly terrified. “They want me to do awful things. I-I don’t want to do awful things.”
“You don’t have to do any awful things,” Chester said quickly. He could tell his King was so close to an emotional breakdown that it wasn’t even funny. Especially since he wasn’t making a lick of sense. “You are so strong. Much stronger than those voices.”
The halls were almost empty, school having gotten out not long ago. Danny was alone, his backpack slung over his shoulder as he walked slowly to the place he had agreed to meet. His shoes were barely grazing the floor, his instincts telling him that something was about to happen to him, and not something good. He heard a few chuckles from down the hall, his head slowly rising to see a familiar face staring back at him.
"Weston."
"Fenton."
Danny continued to slowly hover towards Wes. He felt the tension in the hallway as he stopped in front of the classroom that was designated for their use. He waved for Wes to enter first. The redhead slowly turned himself and walked towards the desks in the room, Danny following, still feeling the unease that he felt in the hall.
"So why are we here?"
Danny crossed his arms lightly over his chest, waiting for Wes to once again say anything. He felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand themselves up. Shivers ran up his spine as he saw what was in Weston's backpack.
"Hey. Why do you have that?"
He saw a Fenton ghost gun. His eyes widened as Weston continued to stay silent and put his hand over the device.
"How did you even get that into the school?"
Wes pulled it from his backpack. It hovered in his hands for a moment, Wes looking closely at it before making eye contact with Danny and holding the gun to his face. Danny could feel the laser his mom had installed for aim.
"Tell me why you killed Kyle."
. . .
Danny had been feeling a weird irk in his core all day, it was only a Wednesday, the weekend not close enough. His core pulsated at him to tell him that he needed to go ghost soon. He hadn't had a reason to for a while, all the ghosts avoiding the town for the past week. The town had been almost too quiet.
He felt his head pound for a moment, his core forcing him to feel the irk harder, stronger. He groaned in pain for a moment, the loud commotion in the hallway not helping with what felt like an oncoming migraine. He saw his friends down the hall, waving him down frantically.
"Hey, how's it going, dude?"
Danny fist-bumped Tucker, hugging Sam.
"Eh, you know. Just feeling that urge to go ghost ASAP."
"Why don't you just try ignoring it?"
Sam smacked the back of his head as she walked past him and gestured to the lunchroom that they were scheduled to go to.
"I don't know if I can. It's just... Instinct, you know? It feels like something bad will happen if I don't."
Danny hauled his backpack higher on his back, Tucker snickering a bit.
"Dude, you're acting like an animal. I'm pretty sure you've turned taking care of your ghost half into an obsession."
"It's not an obsession!"
"That's what all people who are addicted to something say."
Sam laughed as they got to the lunchroom and sat down, the conversation beginning to stress Danny out. Sam could feel the cold around him spreading further from his body.
"It's not an addiction. I promise. I think I'll just go for a flight after school."
Tucker felt the static around Danny from the conversation topic's stress. The air around him almost made it feel like he was playing with static electricity. He shivered a bit, the air chilling his spine.
"If you say so. Just be careful."
. . .
"What does that have to do with you killing my brother?"
Wes moved the gun closer to Danny's forehead, Danny raising his hands in surrender.
"Chill, chill. That's the late morning the day it happened. I'm getting there."
"Speed it up."
"I can't if you want the full story."
. . .
School got out, the final bell ringing. Danny sighed in relief, rushing himself home to drop his backpack off before feeling the usual cold, tingly sensation as he let his ghost half show. He breathed deep, letting the air out of his lungs completely, his ghost portion stopping the breathing.
He took a step towards his window, swinging it wide open. Another step and he was floating above the town. He felt the spring breeze and leaned back a bit, his core pulsating calmly. He felt it almost thanking him for giving it time to be free.
"It's not an obsession."
Danny whispered gently to himself, feeling a warm pulse in his chest, almost a heartbeat - which wasn't normal for him. He gasped, feeling the need to breathe out of shock. The warmth grew stronger, Danny feeling the need to use more powers than just flight. He felt his body aching from too much power in his core.
He moved a bit, stretching himself out before flying towards the center of the city. He saw the school below him, a few kids just getting done with practice and study groups. He felt the warmth spreading through his whole body almost making him itch under his skin.
The feel of it was unbearable to Danny, he almost felt the need to protect the city.
"Oh god."
Danny ran his hand through his hair, his glove getting lost in the white mess on his head.
"It is an obsession."
He felt a few muscle spasms, felt his ghost half begin to act more like a ghost than a human, the one thing he always tried to prevent. He felt the ghost's anger, rage burning through him, no longer feeling that he was in control of himself. He fell the pull of the ghost, the fangs he always kept hidden sliding out and showing themselves.
Danny felt his body dive, closing in on the school at a rapid pace. He found a room in the building, one student left. He didn't even care who it was. He saw that it was a redhead, assumed it was one of the Weston's. He no longer cared which one. It was going to be hell for him now that he couldn't control his ghost portion.
. . .
"That tells me nothing."
Danny became flustered, not certain why Weston was expecting more.
"I... I blacked out. I don't remember what happened after that. I woke up the next morning to my alarm for school in my bed. I can't help it that I had ghost instinct."
Danny paused for a moment.
"Because I couldn't control it anymore. Because it's an obsession."
Wes let the gun charge, making sure it was pointed dead center in Danny's forehead.
"You couldn't control yourself? I had to see that he never came home. Because you killed him. At school. His blood was all over the floor, the walls, the ceiling. I had to be shown that video footage. I... school couldn't happen until they managed to clean that up."
He swallowed harshly.
"Because you couldn't stop yourself, I had to lose part of my family. This school will never be the same. Nothing will be the same."
Danny opened his mouth, wanting to defend himself.
"It might be your "obsession" to take care of your ghost half, to let it have its ghost tendencies... But that doesn't overpower my obsession to reveal your secret to the whole town. Whether I die or not."
Danny felt the warmth again, felt his fangs slide out. He felt the power of his ghost half spilling into his human half. Wes stepped forward again, his hand tremoring a bit from fear. He felt the sweat on the back of his neck, cold drips running down into his shirt.
Danny's core glowed, a white light showing from inside his chest. Wes noticed it. He noticed the white rings that appeared at the waist, hovering for a moment before revealing the white-haired ghost boy. Wes felt the hands that grabbed him, pushing him against the wall, not even having been able to see how fast it had moved to grab him.
"You think, that I care? I'll just let my ghost become the new me. Nobody liked Fenton anyway."
A small laugh erupted from Danny's throat. Wes tried to gulp down some air, his lungs almost refusing.
"What are you gonna do about it?"
Wes raised his forearm slightly, the gun still charged. He saw the laser on Danny's shoulder.
He pulled the trigger.
Danny fell backward, grabbing his shoulder and hissing. Wes pulled himself back up, his shoulder aching from the recoil that made him hit the wall harder. He charged it again, Danny rushing hard at him, he pointed, his eyes closing as he pulled the trigger again.
Wes's eyes opened, slowly, one at a time. He saw the gaping hole in Danny's chest, right where the glowing had been. Danny had frozen entirely, his mouth hanging open, hands reaching for his chest. Wes saw the face change from anger to shock. The pain crossing his face, the body collapsing on the floor. He saw the white rings again, and now the human Danny was lying on the floor, the same hole in his chest, his eyes glassed over.
Wes felt his jaw quiver, a small breath being all he could get in. Tears ran down his face, the Fenton's ghost gun being charged one more time. He pressed the small button on the back, the almost unnoticeable button, the charge switching from green to blue. Wes pressed the trigger, collapsing to the ground, his tears stopping as he slumped up against the wall. He looked to the security camera, knowing that Danny would be revealed after this mess. The school could no longer keep it a secret.
"I'm sorry."
Wes barely pushed out his last few words, his brother once again in front of him, smiling and waving to him cheerfully. Wes smiled, seeing his brother again was all he had wanted.
"I didn't get created, I wasn't born, I'm nothing but a freak."
. . .
The rush of cold behind her that made her hair a mess sent chills down her spine, through her arms, down her legs. Sam's eyes widened as her friend was suddenly gone, vanished, as if he hadn't been there just moments before. She turned, almost afraid to see what was behind her in the lab. She only remembered flashes of what he had said, everything covered by a high-pitched wailing in her ears. She didn't want to believe it. The destruction, the disaster. The pain. It couldn't have happened so fast, so suddenly. She saw Tucker gazing at the stairs, his eyes almost glazed over with the thousand-yard stare, his jaw almost hanging as his mouth opened slightly.
"How?"
He tried to understand what had just happened. Where their friend had gone. He tried to piece together what had been said, what the ringing in his ears didn't block out. He heard Sam's soft sniffle, the sound of tears hitting the stone-cold floor almost eerie as they stood silent for a moment.
Sam walked to Tucker, her boots dragging on the floor. She looked up the stairs, a hole in the door where their friend had to have gone through it, not knowing what else to do, stumbling along the way until they were in the open air.
"He's gone."
. . .
The lab was dark. Nobody had been in there for a while, but the friends automatically knew where the light switches were. They made sure the door was shut so that nobody would suspect anything in the basement should somebody come home.
"Guys, look."
He pointed to a large hole in the wall that they had never seen before. It must have been what his parents had been building that week. Sam and Tucker looked in awe, their minds racing about what could be done in there. Sam walked closer to it, reaching her hand out slowly to see if there was any sort of energy field near it. Her hand was quickly slapped away by her friend as it got too close. She looked at him, his head shaking softly.
"We don't know if it's safe yet."
"Danny, it doesn't even do anything. How could anybody get hurt from a stupid hole?"
He rolled his eyes and tossed her a suit. Grabbing another from the wall and tossing it to Tucker before grabbing his own.
"What's this for?"
"Safety first."
He gave his friends a smirk and pulled the hazmat suit over his clothes, hoping that his friends would do the same soon. They looked at him and laughed for a moment before deciding they were not wearing those stupid suits. Tucker took a few steps towards the hole in the wall, looking into the gaping hole to see if there was an end to it. It just seemed to continue on.
"Dude, get back from there! We don't even know what this is for yet!"
Tucker rolled his eyes and dramatically took a step back, raising his hands in a submissive manner to say "my bad" silently and sarcastically.
"Come on, dude. For all we know it's just gonna be another storage closet. Just think about what we might find in there."
Danny shook his head in disagreement, Sam laughing for a moment before leaning herself on Tucker's shoulder.
"Seriously, Danny. It can't be that bad if your parents can just leave it like this. Come onnnn, let's just have some fun!"
"Fine, but you stay here while I make sure it's safe."
Danny walked towards the hole, his hands fidgeting a bit as he got closer. He felt the hair on the back of his neck rise. The looming darkness in front of him made his stomach twist as he tried to see the end of the empty tunnel. He took another step forward. The air around him got colder, he felt goosebumps rising on his arms, even with the tight suit pressed against his skin. He felt the world almost moving around him. He took another step forward. The vertigo got worse, he saw the hole twisting in his vision. He took another step forward. His boot touched metal on the floor rather than the tiles. He felt a chilling shock run up his leg as he pressed his foot to the ground. Everything was moving except him. He took another step forward. He felt the walls, the slick metal running smoothly under his glove. He took another few steps, looking around, still feeling the movement around him, the cold surrounding him, the goosebumps rising again. He took one another step forward. His hand brushed up against some protrusions sticking out of the wall. They sank into the wall as he pressed further against them.
The light appeared fast enough to blind Danny as he was paralyzed in fear for a moment before coming to his senses. He turned to see Sam and Tucker motioning for him to get out of there, but couldn't hear their cries above his heartbeat racing in his ears. His feet felt like lead bricks as he tried to run, his arms pumping to try and gain speed. He felt the light getting closer, Sam and Tucker's screams barely audible over the high-pitched screeching of whatever the light was being created by.
The cold kept getting closer to him as he ran, his friends motioning faster and faster for him to get out, but he felt like he was taking too long. He tried to jump, reaching his front half to his friends, who grabbed him as his body began to get pulled into the light. He shook his head violently, not knowing if they could hear his pleads for help or not. He felt whatever the light was pulling on him, yanking him back as his friends tried to hold him with them, tried to pull him from the hole in the wall that was now trying to swallow him. He felt their grips slipping and looked up to them, neither one able to make eye contact with him out of guilt.
They had gotten him into this, and now they couldn't get him out.
The light grew brighter, Tucker lost his hold on Danny. Sam felt the stronger pull and yanked harder, Danny no longer caring if his arm was dislocated after this, so long as he lived. He felt the pull grow stronger around him, the cold beginning to make most of his lower body sting. Sam looked at him and saw a flash of skeleton, seeing nothing but bones being grasped by her hands. Her body took a step back, releasing her hold on Danny. She heard a small cry of pain, looking back one last time to see her friend reaching for her, the skin on his face appearing to melt off as he was dragged into the light.
Danny could still see his friends. They had backed farther away from what had used to be an empty hole but was now filled with light and energy. He could feel electrical pulsations course through his body, the pain from it making him gasp for air but unable to breathe any in. He felt his lungs screaming for oxygen as he tried to move himself out of the light.
He was pulled back further, instead, as he fought to try and get out of the light. He had lost sight of his friends, wasn't even sure which direction he was facing or if he was right-side up or upside down. He could feel everything moving and everything at a standstill at the same time. He felt the cold around him almost as though it were comforting.
He heard a deep voice, almost looming above him as it spoke. He felt vibrations within himself as the voice talked to him.
"Child, why are you here? Why are you able to withstand my grace?"
"I... I'm not certain... Who are you."
"I am whatever you want me to be."
"Look, I just wanna be back with my friends. Alive."
"I cannot do that, child."
"And why not?"
Danny attempted to cross his arms, his usual teenager showing itself in frustration as whatever was talking to him told him he could not be with Sam and Tucker.
"You are merely a sacrifice. You were given to me to open the doorway."
"The doorway to what?"
There was nothing but a deep laugh, the echo of it making Danny scrunch his face in discomfort. He opened his eyes again, seeing the light around him fading to a deep green.
"To the ghost realm, child. Only a fool such as yourself would not know."
There was another laugh, Danny feeling himself being pulled upwards by the foot, the movement while seeing everything around him swirling making him almost motion sick. He tried to hold a steady face, finally seeing a dark shadow of a figure looming over his body and holding him up with long, claw-like fingers.
"And now you must become one."
The deep laugh rumbled around him, Danny feelings a sharp pain in the foot that was being grabbed. He tried to look and see what it was, but pain shot through his entire nervous system. His body uncurled itself without Danny telling it to. He felt the spasms, felt the seizing of his limbs as he screamed in pain. He felt his skin freezing and melting at the same time, seeing blood below him as the laughs around him echoed, louder and louder. He glimpsed upwards, seeing the sparks of electricity being forced through his body. Danny screamed in agony, his body being to grow scars from the electrical burns going down his skin from the bottom of his foot, the boot no longer there, the hazmat suit torn away from the pure energy running through every part of him. He felt another shock run through his body, the pain fading slowly as each new bolt ran its course through his nerves, his body becoming numb as each painful strike attempted to kill him.
The dark figure above him continued to laugh, Danny's entire leg below his knee burnt black. He felt the skin peeling away from the tissue beneath, almost passing out from the pain. He felt the electricity running through his nerves. The grinning ghoul holding him there for torture, what he assumed was planned to be death, stopped for a moment, confusion in his voice.
"How are you still... Alive?"
Danny looked at his body, most of it showing, red, blistering skin going along where his veins had been showing blue previously. He noticed his left leg was burnt beyond saving. Danny gasped in pain as he was grasped around his middle, the blistering veins sending sharp, stinging pain up and down his whole body from the tight grip. He was turned right side up, the creature holding him trying to examine him more. He noticed white hair falling in front of his eyes rather than his usual black, and almost cried out, until the breathing made everything hurt more.
"I'm... I'm alive?"
"Not for long."
Another painful shock ran through Danny's spine, the energy causing his vision to become green-tinted. He felt himself be put down, and fell to his hands and knees, coughing up blood that was a mix of a sickly green and his usual red.
"You are but a blessing and a curse. You are dead and alive. I am not certain how you survived, but this is not what I was expecting from you of all people."
"What does that mean?"
There was a pause, a long exhale from what was assumed to be a ghost.
"It means, child, that I have created you. I created your species. A half-human, half-ghost hybrid. You are now born."
Danny spat out another mouthful of blood, his stomach caving in on itself as he processed what was said.
"That's not real. None of that can be real."
"Speak as you may, child. It is very real. It is only up to you to decide which part is the blessing, and which is the curse."
Danny looked up, only seeing a shadow of his body before what had just happened. The dark, sadistic laugh continued to echo around him as he stared for a moment. He felt a pulse of energy through his midsection, felt it as if someone, something, had flown right through him.
He turned to see that the hole in the wall was once again nothing but a hole, the light completely gone, once again consumed by darkness. Sam and Tucker could be seen up against the wall across the room, fear filling their eyes as they saw what had happened. Danny slowly began to limp towards them, the black flesh on his leg chipping away as the muscles flexed to drag it behind him. He felt the stabbing pain through his whole body, grabbing what appeared to be an encasing of the wall where it met the rest of the lab and stumbling forward a bit and landing on his chest.
He felt his body spinning, blood oozing from his mouth as he laid there, each vein throbbing with excruciating pain from the blisters over them.
"Oh god. Oh dear god, what happened to you?"
Sam kneeled beside Danny on the floor, his body too weak to lift his head as her hands hovered over his body, afraid to touch what no longer appeared to be skin. He tried to just laugh it off but instead coughed up more blood. He felt himself passing out, the darkness once again coming over him as it did when the light left him in the tunnel. He wanted to stay with his friends, be able to tell them what happened, but his body wouldn't let him. The last thing he saw was Tucker and Sam, trying to get him to stay with them.
. . .
Danny woke up, laying in the same place as he had been when he passed out. Sam and Tucker were near and far at the same time. He saw that his hair was once again black. and felt clothes over his body again. He slowly moved so that he could see himself. His clothes from earlier that morning? He thought those had been destroyed by that creature when he was being electrocuted. The burn marks were gone, no cuts, burns, or blisters anywhere on his body. Besides being sore, he'd have thought it was a dream.
Tucker walked a bit closer, obviously seeing Danny confused, almost afraid.
"When you passed out, this weird white light passed over your body. It... It changed you. Physically. You... You screamed in pain a lot though. I... We didn't know what to do. You kept changing between you, and what looked like..."
"A ghost."
Danny's face flushed as he finished Tucker's sentence. Nausea rushed over him, the feel of everything returning as he waited for Sam to talk to him. Her eyes were tear-filled, spilling, just happy to see him alive again. She walked over, Danny paler than he had ever been in his life. His brain began to rush, seeing her move towards him, happy. Happy, of all things. His brain flashed to before he had passed out, half died.
She had been trying to get them to go into that cursed hole. She convinced him to go in there. She got him cursed. There was no blessing to this. How was there a blessing when he was electrocuted until he was no longer in a position to still be alive? Put through nothing but pain?
He felt his chest getting cold, from the inside out. He closed his eyes, feeling the cold wash over him as he stood up slowly and backed away from Sam in pure anger. He turned himself and saw his reflection in the cabinets' glass doors. He saw the white hair, the painful, red blisters along his veins were back. His leg was destroyed once again, but the rest of his body was in a black hazmat suit with white accessories, opposite the one he had been in. He saw that his gums were bleeding, fangs poking through. He finally made eye contact with himself - green staring him down rather than the blue he knew.
Danny felt his head throb repeatedly, his thoughts ricochetting in his mind. He saw Sam reach for him, emotion flooding him until he felt he could no longer control it. His anger made him step towards Sam, almost snarling.
"You."
He took another limping step forward toward her, almost looking like a zombie's walk.
"You did this to me!"
He attempted to grab her wrist, but she pulled away quickly, Danny not able to move as quickly from the pain. He felt his head throb again. He took a few more steps.
He was almost dead center in the lab. He felt his head throb, the pain making him to fall to his knees, clutching his head in pain. He moaned in pain for a moment, his body beginning to ache all over, feeling the cold spread inside of him. He let his head go, his body naturally letting him look upwards and scream in pain.
He had blood running through his skin, dripping down his arms, from his eyes. His body was slowly lifted from the floor, hovering as he continued to scream, the scream getting louder by the second. Sam and Tucker crouched on the floor, covering their ears as best they could. Danny felt the pain within him becoming worse, the scream only making it bearable. when energy pulsations began to form, sourcing from his body, he felt the cold in him grow stronger. His scream because eerie, sonic waves following the soundwaves that proceeded them. The echoing it had was deafening.
Glass began to shatter, anything hanging falling. The cabinets were destroyed, as was most of the Fentons' work. The hole in the wall now had hanging wires, short circuits, and broken metal, the tunnel having collapsed much closer to the lab than it had been. The scream continued on for longer than Danny knew he was able to scream. His pain had vanished, but his anger had not. He floated about the floor, seeing Sam and Tucker between him and the stairs. He started hovering closer to them, slowly.
Sam reached her hand out again.
"Danny."
She looked up at him with fear. Tucker was only able to mutter to himself.
"Ghost and human. That... That tunnel, that light. It created a hybrid."
"A new species is born."
Danny remembered hearing that from the dark figure that had done this to him. He felt his anger rise further, the red marks on his face of his veins throbbing lightly.
"Don't say that."
He looked away from his friends, not seeing their confused looks as they exchanged glances.
"Don't say what?"
Sam tried to take a step towards him. He threw his hand down towards her. Green energy landed right in front of her, scorch marks appearing on the floor where the energy had hit.
"I didn't get created, I wasn't born, I'm nothing but a freak."
Danny forced himself to soar at speeds he had never felt before past the two other teens, just trying to get away from what had created him. He heard the echoes of the ghost that had tried to kill him as he rushed up through the stairwell.
Hello everyone! Some of you may remember but a few years back, Diddly threw an event called Going Angst Week which featured five days of Danny Phantom related angsty goodness from creatives online. Seeing as I love angst, I’ve decided to bring it back!
Going Angst Week 2021 runs from August 1st to August 5th. Each day brings about a new theme for you to create something with! Your creation can be art, fanfiction, song, poem, or any other form of creativity you got! This is a Danny Phantom related event, however crossovers and OCs are welcome!
Now let’s see the themes!
👻August 1st — Birth/Creation 👻
Think about where your character came from, this is their beginnings. You can be as literal or figurative as you want here. Maybe showcase some AU’s of how certain ghost types were made, maybe you want to build a backstory on one of the students at Casper, or maybe you just wanna show the calm before the storm. Either way, have fun with this!
👻August 2nd — Obsession/Instincts 👻
Although ghosts in the show are relatively lighthearted enemies, the phandom tends to have more…darker themes around them. You can use this to show how Obsessions can become destructive and consuming, maybe you wanna have some fun with Ghost Hunger, maybe you want to show Danny struggling to present human even as a half ghost. The possibilities are endless!
👻August 3rd — Family/Friends 👻
Here’s your chance to show some real conflict between your character and their loved ones. Although we all love a good “and then they hugged” ending, now’s not the time for that! Show us some hurt! Whether some hard truths are coming to light, or whether there’s no talking—just dissection—either way, have fun exploring the different dark relationship conflicts that this show teases at but doesn’t get into.
👻August 4th — Corruption 👻
Alright, now we’re really getting into the angst! This prompt is all about bringing the darkest aspects of your creativity to the forefront. Maybe throw some psychological horror into it, or some body horror, ectoplasm/blood, mind-control—you name it, you got it!
👻August 5th — Death 👻
There are two truths in life: everyone is born, and everyone dies. In a show about ghosts, this can take on a whole different meaning. Whether you want to do a more traditional killing off of a character, or whether you want to explore some post-death psychological beats in ghosts and/or humans, this conclusion to angst week is your opportunity to really explore how death impacts your interpretation of this universe.
Post each fic/art/etc on the day its due, and please tag all creations with #going angst week 2021 so we can find it!
You can do just one day, or you can attempt the entire week! Also, please be sure to use necessary tags if things get especially dark. Good luck and I look forward to seeing what you make!

[ DP Phantasy AUs ] Ectober Day 1 : Fog / Splatter
In the Forest of The Lost, who did you see?
tw blood a bit?
OKAY so, this idea looks better in my head but here it is! It’s basically a whole bunch of what ifs and mix bag from phantasy au and unicorn blood au n all that
also red eyes danny because im a sucker for circus gothica episode
cliche magic forest name tm but every version here are the lost ones, make that as you will
edit : fixed the gif a bit so it’ll look move smoother
Okay, so we have seen ghosts in different colors like green, blue, and black. Yet, almost all the ghosts that have been shown in the show are mostly green or a shade of green. Very few are grey in color and even fewer in the color white.
What if the color of a ghost is base of the level of power, obsession, knowledge and rank?
We always see Danny fighting ghosts, what if some ghosts fight to get a higher rank? What if some ghost learn about stuff to out rank others? What if ghosts who have the color white are higher in rank? What if ghosts who are the color blue or black are second in rank?
Like for example the Ghost King. He has the colors of white, black and green - with a bit of red and grey. He probably fought hard to get his rank. His obsession was ruling the ghost zone with law and order like walker, but other time it got worse due to the power going to his head. Being the most powerful ghost ever, he saw that he could get away with anything; that’s why it took many ghosts in the first place to put him to sleep.
Walker, another white, black and green ghost. His obsession is with law and order. He’s top dog in the ghost prison. His powers are not all that powerful though. High in rank.
Frostbite, white, blue and gold eyes. He is a leader of his people. He protects and helps. Has ice powers and maybe even healing powers. Very wise and has lots of knowledge. High in rank.
Clockwork, blue, purple, and red. Powerful and wise, yet, we don’t know much about him. Very high in rank, though lower than the Ghost King.
Vlad, white, blue and red eyes. He is powerful, but not like Danny. His years and knowledge of fighting put him in higher rank though. His obsession was power and of course stealing Maddie from Jack. If he were to come back, his obsession would be Danny; because the kid was always there to ‘ruin’ his plans. Vlad would be unstable, being in space for a long time and most likely stuck in ghost form; maybe even lose most of his humanity. He would change into something more ghostly, less formal, more wild and a dangerous lust for revenge against Danny. Most likely would go with his ghost name than his human name, since he lost everything.
Then there is Danny - white, black, green and blue (ice powers). He is not like other ghosts, he is not like Vlad - who has a shade of blue; he’s not a color of a normal ghost. Sure he has white hair, but out of everyone, he looks too human. That’s what most of the ghost zone doesn’t like about him, he’s too human; more human than Vlad. What if Danny is more powerful than the Ghost King (without the suit of course), but doesn’t know how powerful due to being too human. Like we saw how powerful Dan is, until Danny got the Ghostly Wail and won. Danny has sooooo much power at his fingertips, but he doesn’t use it all. Why?
What if Danny is more like the Ghost King than we thought? What if Danny becomes a all white ghost with green eyes? Like his name is Phantom, and if you look up ghosts - most of them are white. So, that means Danny is very powerful ghost; yet, doesn’t abuse his power due to his humanity. Frostbite calls Danny the Great one, because Danny Phantom will be the most powerful ghost is existence when the time comes. Danny would most likely look more like a phantom, after being crowned king of the ghost zone officially.
Sorry for this post for being long, but I had to rant about this. You can do whatever you want with this new headcanon.
