Mizu is not a lesbian, or bisexual, or het, and the same logic applies to Mizu not being cis, trans or nonbinary. She's not there yet, in terms of who she is and what she wants, outside of revenge. She's operating on a simple level in terms of her internal world; to bestow Mizu with the assumption that she has a strong sense of personal identity beyond the pain and rage of her lineage, is to ignore that she lacks any sort of identity altogether. Her external identity chameleons to the demands of the moment and who she's with- she shapeshifts between bride and ronin, between a little boy and a grown woman, between a heartless sword to someone who cries and is shaken by the horror of what they've done. She's constantly changing, she lives in permanent semi-homelessness, and I think it shows that Mizu's internal world is also transient. She isn't consistently anything, and so to say that she has a defined, permanent sense of her gender or sexuality one way or another sort of ignores that she lacks structure altogether. She's not really anything, even to herself, except the monster on the warpath.
