I wanted to like In the Clear Moonlit Dusk so bad. But it was just so. Meh. Like, the animation and characters are beautiful and there were definitely some moments that had me giggling and kicking my feet. But I was very disappointed in the dynamic between Yoi and Kohaku. It was very much giving "bare minimum boyfriend" with "girlfriend who doesn't know she's getting bare minimum because she's never had a boyfriend before". I also didn't like how... I guess, predatory they made it seem that girls would constantly confess to Yoi because of her "prince like" looks. They made it feel like it was an inconvenience for her and that none of the girls were serious which. Sucked. For a series about a girl who's gender non-conforming, I expected it to be a little more open minded. I also expected to relate to Yoi at least a little bit more as a gnc person but it just felt like she was kind of uncomfortable being seen that way.
