Written for Day 4 of @hinnyfest
Promt: In the Holyhead Harpies locker room
Ginny did not pay much attention to her teammates as she arrived in the locker room. About four of them were huddled together in a corner, looking at something. She simply greeted them and started changing. By the time she was done, she had heard Harry’s name three times.
She walked up to them and crossed her arms as she looked at them.
Four pairs of eyes looked up from the magazine they were holding and up to Ginny’s face. She could only assume there was an article about Harry once again.
“Is it true?” One of them dared to ask.
“What did they write now?” she said, trying to snatch the magazine out of her teammate’s hands but the Keeper had quicker reflexes than that and kept it out of reach.
“Your dear boyfriend… has only ever been with one other girl except you…”
“Ha!” Ginny said out loud, surprised by the wild guess and not the actual topic, as usual with these gossip magazines it was quite indecent. “I don’t think that’s true.”
The four of them stared at her.
“How many were there, did he tell you?”
“No, I just know. We were friends before we got together.” She shrugged.
“I bet he got loads of girls, he’s quite the charmer, isn’t he?”
“Please, he was terrible with girls before me,” Ginny said.
There was a knock on the door and then Harry’s voice came. “Gin?”
“Oh look, you can ask him yourself.” She opened the door and pulled him inside and closed the door. He looked worried.
“I need your help because I think your mum is going to kill me. There is a new article-”
“Harry, I know,” she said, nodding towards her teammates who were shamelessly following their conversation.
“Oh. Well, she is going to wrongfully think I had sex with other girls than you and she is going to curse my bits off,” he said, real worry in his voice.
At least her teammates had the decency to stay quiet at this new piece of information they overheard.
“Look, just steer clear of her until tonight. I’ll go by after training and do damage control.” She turned to her teammates. “Who is the girl in the article?”
“Cho… Cho Chang,” the Keeper said.
Ginny turned back to Harry. “I’ll also send an owl to Cho then to warn her, in case she hasn’t seen. If I have to send her any more owls this year, we are going to become best friends.”
“Splendid. That’ll get the magazines going,” Harry commented. He glanced at his watch. “I have to go now.”
“Okay. Bye Harry, love you,” she said, kissing him softly.
“Bye, Gin, love you too.” He walked back to the door and exited the changing room.
Ginny turned back to her nosy teammates.
“He looks like that and he’s only ever been with you?”
Ginny smiled, shrugging casually. “Yep.” She took her wand out of her bag and started making her way to the Quidditch Pitch.
Her teammates followed close behind.
“You are one lucky girl!”
Ginny turned back around and the group halted, looking rather sheepish but yet eager for an answer. “Unless you want your snot to turn into bats in the next ten seconds, I suggest you all shut up and run fast. It’s none of your business!”
