Summary: You just returned from London after finishing your degree and deciding to finally let your friend convince you of dragging you out to a fun night it quickly becomes an unusual meeting. He was your complete opposite, carefree and didnât seem to know boundariesâŚsomething you didnât wanted to know.

âI will pick you up at 6:30 and wear something edgyâ Your friend Hyebin said through the phone and as you kept on arranging your clothes back into your wardrobe
âWhy edgy? I thought we were going to see your friendâs band?â When your best friend suggested bringing you over to a live band you expected something like a soft pop or something related to it
âWell yeah; Sehun is in a rock band but it will be fun, I promise!â Hyebin said with enthusiasm and you mentally face palmed yourself since that definitely wasnât your type of atmosphere
You returned to Korea a few weeks ago due to your studies at Oxford and Hyebin wasnât able to properly go out with you ever since you returned because of her work with thesis. Since you missed her you agreed going to whatever placed she wanted but never expected that tonight the usually reserved and quiet you will be at some bar watching a rock band play when it wasnât even one of your main genres to listen to.
âI will just wear whatever black clothes I can findâŚand if I feel uncomfortable we will leave immediately, okay?â A soft sigh escaped your lips and you heard your best friend squealing in delight over the line as you gave in
Going to watch a rock band sounded completely out of character for you but since she was your best friend you had to make an effort for her, and some part of you knew that Hyebin insisted so much on going because probably the guy she mentioned earlier invited her and she needed some back-up.
âI hope I donât end third wheelingâ You whispered to yourself and started rummaging through your clothes trying to find something close to âedgyâ as your friend suggested
You locked your apartment and hoped for the best while you were waiting for Hyebin to come for you; the clothes you decided to wear were okay and something that you would usually wear but the long sleeved off-the shoulder black shirt you were currently wearing made you feel a little self-conscious about exposing some of your skin. Your mind was already telling you to go back and place on a simple shirt but Hyebin was already arriving at the entrance of the building so you had to go.
âHey, can I go upstairs quickly and change my shirt?â You asked opening the passengerâs seat but a frown quickly appeared on your best friendâs face as she denied with her head
âYou look good and wear that for a change once in a whileâ She laughed at how something so little made you overreact but she still pulled you inside her car to drive over to the destination
Being with Hyebin on the car helped you relax and completely forget about the shirt; many girls wore even more revealing clothes to clubs and bars so what you were wearing was completely fine and all that over thinking was for nothing. When the two of you arrived you could notice the place looked nice from the outside giving you the impression that Hyebin brought you to a decent place after all.
âThe place looks goodâ You commented going out of the car and linking arms with her
âI would never bring you to some dangerous bar since I know just how paranoid your intellectual ass isâ She joked and with a scowl you lightly punched her arm wanting to let go of her grip but Hyebin only pulled you inside with her
The bar was a spacious place filled with tables, at the sides and the center was cleared for the space at the front of the stage. You saw some girls wearing shorts with net thighs and some were wearing crop tops which only confirmed your feeling that this wasnât your environment, but since everything had a calm feeling to it you decided to let it go.
âYou cameâ Said a voice from behind the two of you as Hyebin let go of your arm and went to hug the guy who just appeared
He was a tall boy with very pale skin and jet black hair, his very sharp jawline and strong stare made you wonder how he knew Hyebin since you knew that she was an outgoing and bubbly girl so her usual circle of friends were people with those characters. Her smile was huge when she let go of the boy and finally introduced the two of you.
âThis is Sehun; he is the drummer in the band we came to watch todayâ Her cheerful voice when she introduced him only made you chuckle, you knew she liked him a lot
âI am ______________, nice to meet youâ You offered back with a smile as the two of you shook hands
âYou are Hyebinâs friend who studied at Oxford right? She talked so much about you ever since you came backâ Sehun said and you looked over at your friend who only smiled knowing that you couldnât blame her for voicing out how proud she was of you for getting that scholarship
âYup, thatâs me but please donât tell the whole bar about itâŚ.I bet Hyerin can do that on her ownâ You joked and Sehun laughed loudly as your friend whined at how unfair you were with her
Sehun excused himself stating that he had to get ready to be on stage and with a wave he disappeared from your view. You got something to drink and picked a table near the stage so Hyebin could watch the band better as you saw Sehun and his band getting ready to be on stage and decided to get the truth from her while you had time to spare.
âYou obviously like Sehun, A LOTâ You said and her eyes widened while her cheeks were turning into a rosy pink from being caught on so quickly
âWas I so obvious?â Hyebin nervously bit her bottom lip but you quickly dismissed her statement by waving your hand
âI am your best friend so I know you very well. He doesnât look like the guy who is your typical friend so you must like him to be doing all these different stuffâ You reasoned and she nodded while you took a sip of your drink and asked who the other men with him on the stage were
âThey are all his friends from Korea University of Arts; Jongin plays the bass, Baekhyun is the vocalist and also plays the acoustic guitar, the one with the electric guitar is Chanyeolâ She introduced each of them while you only nodded and watched how Sehun slowly waved at the two of you
âAre you two officially dating?â The question slipped from you the moment you saw your friend excitedly waving back at him
âHe hasnât asked me or even given me signals that he likes me but I hope he tells me something soon, it frustrates me that I donât know whatâs going onâ Hyebin sighed a little but you patted her back since you had a feeling that Sehun liked her back
After some minutes the bar began to become a bit crowded and a man walked to the stage and welcomed everyone as the crowd cheered for him. He started introducing the band as EXO-K when all of the members where on stage as the crowd cheered for them, Sehun clacked his sticks 3 times and then they started to perform. The atmosphere quickly turned into one of joy as there were people jumping, some were bobbing their heads to the music along with some drinks on their hands, while you tried to focus on the band and what they were currently singing.
âActually, I kind of like how they sound and that boy knows how to singâ You had to talk a little loud over to Hyebin as she was singing the lyrics to their songs
âThey are really good, and the tall one Chanyeol writes most of the lyrics to the songsâ She informed you and shouted along with the crowd when the song was over
The night dragged along with you listening to every different song they had to offer; some were more on the soft side of rock which you enjoyed, while others were more on the hype rock style which made the crowd go completely crazy. They announced that they were going to take a short break and the crowd dispersed to grab drinks.
You saw Sehun and his friends coming down from the stage and the tallest one of them grabbed a beer after sending a flirty wink to some of the girls who were waiting. You were busy talking with Hyebin that you didnât notice that Sehun and his bandmates were already on their way to your table.
âNice to see you here Hyebinâ The one you recognized as Jongin greeted your friend as she smiled
âYou guys were awesome!â Hyebin said and handed Sehun a glass of water she ordered earlier
âWho is your pretty friend?â The deep voice belonging to one of them made you look at him as he sent you a flirty grin but you werenât swayed by it since your mind was occupied at how he carelessly called you hot when you were mere strangers
âThis is my best friend ______________â Hyebin introduced you to them and you only waved awkwardly at them not knowing what else to say
âPark Chanyeol, you were the one who studied at Oxford right?â He introduced himself taking a sip of his drink but you were feeling a little uncomfortable so you decided to look somewhere else
âYeah, Creative Writing and I finished a few weeks agoâ You said and the boys seemed to be interested in your career choice
âThat is so cool, you must be very intelligentâ Sehun said and you could only laugh a little as Hyebin told them how you were always helping her with English homework
âMaybe you could help Chanyeol with some of his writing skills on Englishâ Baekhyun joked and said boy only rolled his eyes at him but sent you a big smile
âActually I am on up on that, what do you say if I invite you to a study date?â Asked Chanyeol leaning closer to you but you couldnât say anything since you were beginning to think he was the troublesome of the group
âIâŚ.Ummâ You looked at Hyebin for help but she only smiled at you and you could hear her in your mind already telling you to say yes since you havenât dated in a while
âHyung, I am sure ______________ is not interested in those types of datesâ Sehun said saving you and you were mentally thanking the boy for being so nice
âOh god, what do you say if I invite you for a ride on my carâŚâ Chanyeol was still trying his best with you but the boys quickly pulled him away knowing how all this must have been weird for you
âEnough, our break is almost over, so you better go and tune that guitarâ Baekhyun pulled the giant almost by the ear as he complained being interrupted
âI didnât get to ask her outâŚ.See you later Oxford Princess!â Chanyeol waved at you as you gave him an awkward smile not knowing how to handle how straight-forward he was being at you
When they resumed their performance you caught Chanyeol staring at you multiple times and sometimes a cocky smile appeared on his face when he knew that he was making you all flustered, but with only a few minutes of conversation with him and some feedback from Hyebin you knew that he was a bit of trouble.
âStillâŚ.â Your best friend talked louder and gained your attention as you nodded at her to continue talking
âYou are the first girl friend I have brought and Chanyeol being so direct into flirting with her, you must have caught his interestâ Hyebin announced and all you could say was a simple âOhâ since you didnât know if that was a good or bad thing
âGet me a date with herâ Chanyeol announced to Sehun as he raised his eyebrow at what the eldest announced
He thought the taller was only playing around when he was carelessly flirting with you, so as he brought the topic again it seems like he really got some interest in you but he still couldnât figure out why sinceâŚ..
âShe is totally not your typeâ Jongin said setting down his bag and changing into a fresh set of clothes
âShe is obviously the reserved, shy and good moral compass type of girl which you could never get on a date or less hook up with her if that is what you want her forâ Baekhyun said smacking him in the head earning a scowl from the guitarist
âI bet you can have fun with her tooâ Chanyeol stated as he carefully saved his Fender in the black case he proudly decorated with numerous rock bands logos
âI donât think even Hyebin can convince ______________ to go on a date with youâ Sehun knew his friend too well and he didnât wanted to have any troubles with the girl he was currently going out with
âFine, I will convince her myself then and then when she accepts to go out with me all of you owe me 30,000 wonâ He announced but his friends only rolled his eyes at his statement
âFor the record, I am not betting with you but how do you plan to succeed in taking her to a date?â Jongin asked genuinely curious at what trick his friend was going to pull this time around
âI prefer not to tell you, in the case any of you wants to sell meâ He announced and walked out of the room to go to his car with a cocky smile pretty sure that he will win you over one way or another
âMake sure Hyebin tells ______________ who Chanyeol isâŚjust in caseâ Baekhyun told Sehun as the youngest nodded, completely agreeing to the request
You were grateful that Hyebin didnât insisted on going to watch Sehun and his band again; you liked the place and their music but you were a bit uncomfortable around Chanyeol, he looked like a nice guy if he didnât openly flirt with you but he did itâŚand it would be better if you avoided someone who give you the impression of being trouble.
That night Hyebin made very clear that Chanyeol had found interest in you and that he will try to ask for some information of you through Sehun if he wanted a date with you (you secretly hoped that he never asked about you because Hyebin will tell him everything). But even if she was excited that someone as him found interest in you, she was preoccupied as well. Sehun told her that he was a little troublesome; he missed class whenever he felt like but still managed to save his grades, sometimes he was a careless driver, stayed up until insane hours and had a long list of girls he previously dated. Even if he was all those things, he still mentioned that Chanyeol was a very loyal person and he loved music than anything else but still wouldnât introduce him to any of his friends who were looking for a date.
âWhere are we going today?â You asked finishing applying a soft peach color to the inner part of your lips
Your best friend was back in your apartment with the hope of bringing you to a quiet place this time, since she knew that you will enjoy a less crowded place. There was going to be an outdoor painting exhibition from some K-ARTS student and she thought that you would be up for something relaxing day activity.
The two of you arrived to the outdoor exhibition and your mind was quickly caught up in admiring the different pieces each of the students elaborated, some were modern or abstract with different techniques but there was one that really caught up your attention so you dragged Hyebin by the arm as your marveled at it.
âIt is beautifulâ Your eyes twinkled the moment you recognized the familiar paved roads and streets musician that were scattered through London, the artist was definitely a perfectionist as you could see how much time and details he poured into the piece
âI am glad you like itâ A boy with cute heart shaped lips says while pushing up his glasses and Hyebin screamed in glee as she hugged the smaller boy to death Â
âAs expected from youâŚ.Kyungsoo, this is my friend ______________ who just came back from studying aboardâ Hyebin introduced and he gently shook your hand
You explained to Kyungsoo that you studied at London and he was delighted to find someone who was actually there, he started asking if his details were accurate with the city since he did some previous research to do the painting from scratch. He was actually very good with every aspect of his painting so you couldnât stop with all the good comments that came from his painting.
âYou guys actually cameâ Kyungsoo broke off his view from you and a little smile came from him as you followed his line of vision
You just couldnât believe it. Just incredible. You turned around to see Kyungsoo greeting two men, which were coincidentally none other than Sehun and Chanyeol. All you could do was blink at their interactions as he was all smiles with the two newcomers and casually let it slip that it was rare to see Chanyeol on one of his exhibitions but the taller one quickly dismissed it with a loud laugh and a pat on his shoulder.
Sehun quickly went over to greet you and Hyebin but judging by the way she was eying you this was definitely not some weird coincidence on life, but judging how the 3 men knew each other you couldnât exactly say this was all planed. Sehun whispered something into Hyebinâs ear which made her giggle but you didnât get to catch it since you were quickly distracted.
âGood to meet you here princessâ Chanyeolâs voice caught you attention and sent you a charming smile that could woo anyone but in your case, it only made you feel uneasy
âHello Chanyeolâ Your response was simple but you didnât wanted to be rude and ignore him so this greeting would do
âMy friend Kyungsoo is a good painter right? Couldnât say the same of his temperamentâ He playfully placed an arm around the smaller boy, but a pull to one of his big ears made him instantly regret his choice of words
âItâs all because I donât want your immature presence when I am workingâ Kyungsoo explained himself and you softly giggled at how easily he could calm down the taller boy
They explained that they met each other on their freshmen year, Kyungsoo didnât even wanted to be associated with the loud group but after being paired with them in a group project he learned to appreciate them. He still preferred Sehun and Jongin for being easier to handle but Baekhyun and Chanyeol always found a way to mess with his nerves.
Sehun suggested that Hyebin and you stayed to share lunch with them since Kyungsoo was going to have a break from the exposition; you couldnât crush your friendâs excitement to be with the guy she liked so you agreed, even if that meant having to be near Chanyeol. The boys suggested a good ramen shop nearby and you were absolutely fine with it since there wasnât a place that reminded you home near your campus. As luck would have it Chanyeol sat next to you but since this was a gathering with friends you decided not to give too much attention to him.
âI missed Ramen shops so much, there wasnât a good place that sold them near my campusâ You said excited as the different types of ramen arrived to the table and finally you were feeling back home
âI had to send her many packets to help her survive those 4 years abroad, you owe me so muchâ Hyebin joked and playfully earned a poke in her arm with your chopsticks as everyone in the table chuckled at her words
âWhat made you choose Creative Writing?â Kyungsoo asked and you were always happy to answer whenever someone popped that question
You loved reading and everything related to arts ever since you were little, most of your time was spend in your backyard drawing, reading or listening to different music. But as you grew old, Literature was obviously your favorite subject since it had all those fantastic stories that seemed to grow alive in your head whenever you read them and that is what made you want to pursue that dream.
âI want to work at some independent company so I am just submitting some of my past essaysâ You informed and they looked really impressed at the determination you hold and even if your parents were still supporting you financially, you didnât wanted to burden them anymore with living expenses
âI assume you write different stuff princess, stories and poems right?â Chanyeol asked taking a sip of his drink
You still werenât used to how he was calling you Princess all the time but this wasnât the time to be arguing about that since after all he did a harmless question, and for once seemed interested in something else that wasnât flirting with you.
âI do, but I mostly like short stories were I can just write whatever I feel likeâ Hyebin was looking all proud of you since whenever you talked about your passion, she was the supportive friend who never left your side
âI write my own stuff too, composing music and lyrics can be similar to what you doâ Chanyeol said trying to brag about himself but Sehunâs scoff quickly brought him back to earth
âYeah when you arenât too busy hookingâŚ.â Sehun was babbling but a simple glare from Chanyeol made him instantly shut up but you already knew about Chanyeolâs history with girls anyways
When everyone finished eating, Kyungsoo decided to head back to his exposition since break was almost over for the students and after waving goodbye to everyone he finally left. Hyebin and you were ready to head back to your apartment but it seems like she had other plans, Sehun invited her to watch a movie a while ago and being the good friend you sent her away deciding to head back on your own to your apartment.
âI can take her home, it will be my pleasureâ Chanyeol announced to your disbelief placing an arm over your shoulder and you really wanted to refuse since you were close by anyway
âThanks Chanyeol, I donât want her going aloneâ Hyebin obnoxiously smiled at you to pull Sehun away with her before you could even protest
âDonât do anything weird Hyung!â Sehun shouted but the taller only chuckled
âShall we go princess?â He asked lowering his head extremely close but you quickly started walking before he attempted anything else
It looks like just how Chanyeol was someone with a carefree attitude, his car also reflected it. He escorted you to his shiny black BMW 8 series coupe and opened the passengerâs seat for you to get inside as he explained that it was a gift from his parents. He sent you a soft smile before he started driving after you placed your address in the map device.
âI wonât kill you princess, I will drive slowlyâ Chanyeol said trying to make you relax so you decided making some conversation with him wouldnât kill you
âThank you for driving me home, I donât leave far away from here so I could had taken the bus or walkedâ You said fidgeting with your fingers but he only chuckled at your statement
âI couldnât let a pretty girl walk home alone, what kind of men would I beâ He said slightly glancing at you but you only let a little smile appear on your face at your statement
âIt is true that you are a charming man for ladiesâ The statement that left your lips was soft as you stared at the window but Chanyeol still caught it
âI am just hoping that I am charming enough for you princessâ And there was his wink and flirty grin again that made you feel uneasy
You didnât reacted to what he said so he wouldnât think that it was working since it was the complete, you were uncomfortable right now and wanted nothing more than to be back home. Your wish soon came true as Chanyeol parked at the entrance of your apartment building and after thanking him for giving you a ride, your legs hoped out of his car wanting to disappear.
âHey Princess!â Chanyeol called from the car as he rolled the window down and you walked back in case you forgot something.
âI can skip my Sound Synthesis class this Wednesday and take you out on a date, what do you say?â There was a glint in his eyes as he asked you out and he felt confident about himself towards you
You were standing outside of his car in pure shock that your jaw tightened so you wouldnât be staring at him with your mouth hanging open. You cleared your throat and looked directly at him in the eyes ready to give him your answer since you didnât need to give it much thought after all.
âYOU REJECTED CHANYEOL!â Hyebin screamed as you told her what happened and killing your left eardrum in the process
âHe seems like a lot of trouble for me; even you said that he had a long list of past girls. He even made clear that the date would happen if he skipped class which I am surprised how he is a few classes away from graduating.â You defended yourself, if it wasnât for Chanyeolâs personality you would have thought about it, but how he was blatantly trying to make advances on you didnât get him a chance
âBut still he is a fun and nice guyâŚâ Hyebin was still trying to get him on your good side but you didnât wanted to give in, not to someone who you knew wasnât going to take you seriously
âHe is all fun until he gets what he wants, he sleeps with me and then he moves on to the next girl, his rock band and skipping classesâ You reasoned and that instantly made her clam up; because even if Sehun technically never stated the former, you all knew that was how he acted
âStillâŚ..he seemed sincere when he asked me to get him a chance to talk with youâ Hyebin confessed but you only denied with your head, even though she had good intentions it all failed that the person your best friend picked didnât made it easy for you
âI will just have to hold back from going with you when you meet Sehun so I donât run into himâ You joked but she only rolled her at your childish statement
âIt is so immature for you to avoid him, in the end he said that he was interested in you because you were different so he wanted to know you betterâ Your best friend revealed the last bit of information and you found it a little endearing that he thought of you that way
âOhâŚ.â Was all you said following her to your kitchen and get the gossip of her date with Sehun at the movie theater
Soon you discovered that it was a bad idea for you to accept Chanyeolâs offer of driving you back home; for the past two weeks he randomly showed up with Sehun to pick Hyebin from your apartment or casually showed up stating that he was simply in the area when you obviously knew that his apartment complex was near his campus and not your apartment building.
It was kind of cute but it was still annoying you to see him almost every day now and you had to blame Hyebin, since some of the times he was the one driving your best friend to your apartment. You had enough so you decided to tag along with Hyebin this week when she went to see Sehun perform and face the problem.
âAre you really going to just say ânoâ and donât give him a chance?â Hyebin whispered as the boys finished earlier and were walking towards your table
âAs I said before, yesâ You simply answered and got off your chair to catch Chanyeol in the way and had this conversation privately
Your gaze met his and a subtle smirk formed in his face fully knowing that you were walking towards him; with a shy smile you waved to the other boys and headed directly towards Chanyeol. You didnât notice that a drunken man was walking towards you and suddenly you felt a firm grip on your hip as he spun you around and tried to bring your body as close as possible to him. The people around didnât notice since it looked like he was wanting to dance with you but the way he was pushing himself onto you and his hands were roaming your body was making you panic.
âLet me goâ You pleaded trying to push his arm away as he only leaned closer whispering how much he wanted to play with you and that was making you sick
âJustâŚ...Oh my God!â Your voice rose at the end as he stumbled backwards from you and were finally free from his grip
You saw Chanyeol pulling him and sending him straight to the ground as the man growled at him, he was quick to deliver a punch to his face which quickly left a cut on his left cheek. The man pulled himself up and punched Chanyeol in the stomach causing him to bend a little over the pain but he still managed to gain enough force to quick his groin ending the fight before anything else happened as the man was rolling in pain.
âDonât you dare put your hands on her again, you assholeâ Chanyeol pulled him up by the collar glaring at him as the boys finally came to where the two of you stood
Hyebin came to your side and check if you were alright which you quickly nodded while the guys talked with the owner of the bar and dragged the man outside. The owner quickly apologized to you stating that this rarely happened here but he was relieved that you werenât injured at all.
âAre you sure you are completely fine?â Hyebin asked still with a concerned look as you quickly nodded
âI am, thanks to Chanyeol who came to help me. Now go with Sehun, I donât want you to go alone.â With a small hug the two of you said your goodbyes and watch her leave with Sehun
âYou shouldnât go alone tooâ Jongin said as Baekhyun nodded offering to take you home but you decided to decline his offer since you knew someone else might need your help
âI will go and check on Chanyeol, I am sure he can take me homeâ You answered and the two of them only chuckled at your response
Sure Chanyeol was a troublemaker but he got you out from a bad situation, so the least you could do was properly thank him and check to see if he was in a good condition. Jongin and Baekhyun waved their goodbyes to you as the vocalist warned you to not make out in the passenger seat since that was his spot, you only denied with your head and shoo him away with your handâŚhe was the most childish of them.
âWhy didnât you leave with Hyebin?â Chanyeolâs deep voice asked from behind and you turned around to examine him with your gaze and walked closer to him
âI wanted to see if you were okay and properly thank you, you helped back there.â Your voice was a little soft when you spoke but he still appreciated and chuckled at your newly discovered shyness
âI am fine princess, so stop worrying your headâ He placed his hands in his pockets and sent you a smile, showing that the pain was no longer present
As expected he offered to drive you to your apartment and this time you agreed easily. It was almost 11 am by now but as you rolled out the window to collect your thoughts you didnât feel troubled anymore, everything was calm again. Chanyeol parked his car at the entrance of your building and this time he walked out of his car and escorted you to the lobby even if you insisted that it was only a few steps from his car.
âPrincess!â Chanyeol called for you before you fully entered the lobby, so you turned around and gave him your full attention to let him speak
âLet me take you out on a date this weekend, I promise it will be fun and I wonât skip class if that bothers you so muchâ He tried again, he definitely didnât know why he was asking you again
He only showed up multiple times to bother you, since he didnât have the intention to take you on a date (that is why those times he never asked again). But he wanted to try again and if you said no then he could simply continue bothering you as if nothing happened; but you smiled at him and told him that you will give him a chance so he better make it worth your time. A smirk appeared on Chanyeolâs face as he walked back to his car and after sending you a wink he left you with a promise as he drove off.

 Hyebin was confused but happy when you told her that you accepted Chanyeolâs invitation; even if a part of your head was telling you not to, you still agreed since it was only one date. You decided to dress comfortable but still picked a pretty blouse to pair with your jeans, and since you didnât knew where Chanyeol was taking you it looked like a good idea to wear jeans and just relax for a moment.
Chanyeol picked you up at 10 am and drove the two of you a little towards the outskirts of Seoul saying that you shouldnât worry much about it. Finally the two of you arrived to Seoul Forrest and you were amazed that he picked such a calm place to come, but you loved it here since it was a place with so much to do but all the nature that surrounded it made you feel at peace.
