WE LOST
Altus would. My excitement has been cut in half.
Y’all!!!!
y’all…Y’ALL who’s excited for the new persona 3 remake? I came back from the dead for this!!! lol
I know we should take these rumors with a grain of salt but, it’s looking more and more real with every domain and leak on display! Although no FEMC? Major L on Altus’s end. I f*ckin love her and will be devastated if she’s not included…
Like, what was the point in hyping her up? Giving her a canon name, and acknowledging her existence in Q2 + popularity polls? The P3P merch? Leave it to Altus to blue ball us like this lmao
If the rumors turn out true, will you be buying the remake? What changes do y’all foresee them making? Honestly, I can’t wait to hear the soundtrack! Curious to see if Makoto gets social links with his male teammates !!
Damn even when Shumako isn’t romantic it’s still solid af
love their dynamic romantic or platonic ❤️

Persona 5 Scramble | That was amazing Panther! That was really pretty.
Gonna go out on a limb and say it
I hate how much Atlus wants you to like Kasumi, or Sumire.
She's the new important character they added, I get it. Of course they want her to be popular, but at the same time I can't stand how much they ignored some other characters whose development needed significant work (Haru the most prominent example) in favor of entirely building out just why she's so likeable and should be 'uwu best waifu' for Joker (exaggerating of course, she has more traits than that, but you get the point). She's beautiful, skilled, kind, and strong enough to overcome her insecurites AFTER Joker comes to her rescue and helps her learn to be her own independent person. She doesn't coherently fit the theme of rebellion anymore which p5 consistently establishes with each awakening and instead becomes reminiscent of p4's facing one's true self in order to gain their persona's power, even moreso than Futaba since Kasumi's self-identity crisis stems purely from her own denial rather than the manipulation of cruel adults using her as a scapegoat. Atlus sacrificed what I feel like is a pretty crucial concept which separates p5 from the other persona games just so that the player always wants to cheer Sumire on, wants her to strive to become her best self especially because it's at no one else's expense unlike the other Phantom Thieves, whose rebellion meant they were going to ruin the lives of some (very shitty) people in order to gain their own personal freedom, aside from Futaba. Even Futaba isn't free of this sort of offense though, initially manipulating the others and attempting to blackmail them so that they'd change her heart, not to mention doing some more... suspicious activity using her hacking skills in general mentioned in passing conversation.
I like Kasumi, I can't deny that, but in the context of the game itself, I hate why I like her.
Tldr, Kasumi's scarcity of "morally grey" flaws makes her a bit Mary Sue-ish for the kind of game Persona 5 is which questions the use of forcibly changing people's minds and manipulating them for one's own benefit, regardless if it helps other people too.
100% agree with you. I have my own critiques of “Kasumi” but that doesn’t change the fact that I actually like her as a character.
She definitely doesn’t fit the game’s themes and ruined a large portion of the game’s writings. If we’re being real, she’s not even an important part of the game’s plot; she was only written as a plot device for a more important character, aka the counselor. But of course Altus disguised that with a pretty new female character because they know that’s what will attach players to a rerelease of an already established game. I’ll probably write my own post on the topic of Kasumi later when I find the time.
Complaining about how patented Atlus “New Girl ™” is too relevant to the plot to a fault, and is too obviously thrown in as “best canon new waifu”, I see. Where have I heard this one before?
P4. Expect nobody seems to like Marie lol But unlike Marie, Kasumi is very likeable as a character, despite the writing flaws to the overall plot. I think that’s why some people (including myself) ain’t happy with the way she was handled in P5r.
