Vick was interesting in the Kayaking event happening in Madison that she knew she was going to check it out. As she arrived at the location of the event, she purchased herself a drink before she wondered around, she was a little confused as to what was going on, she had no clue what it actually meant and what was actually happening but she didnāt mind. She looked over before she bumped into someone slightly, it wasnāt that hard of a knock but it was definitely a knock to get someones attention. She stood there for a moment looking over at the person,Ā āOh I am very sorry, I was just curious as to what exactly is happening? What is actually happening here. What is this event actually meant for? I know I probably sound stupid right now but well I am confused.ā She laughed for a moment.Ā
ā--You donāt sound stupid at all!ā Persimmon replied to the woman whoād knocked into her just a bit.Ā āIām guessinā youāre new to the area? Itās an event that happens every year, I canāt even remember when it first became a tradition,ā Persimmon took a sip of her drink.Ā āBut itās somethinā thatās part of town. We have a few events a year, actually. --How long have you been in town?ā

āCan we get out of here? Please?ā Peachy had practically shoved into Persimmonās room like a hurricane; expression furrowed in something that might be mistaken for distress. Only the Kennedy girlās would know, though, that that face only meant one thing: Cherry Kennedy was on a freakinā rampage. She had already made Peachy Keen run errands with her, and stand for hours in the living room while Nanny fitted yet another gown to her frame - the girl could only imagine what could be waiting for her after lunch, too.Ā āI mean it, Immy - letās go get lunch, or⦠or we could just walk out to the middle of the Orchard, and freakinā sit there, I donāt care! I just need to get the hell out of here before Mama realizes Iām not still tryinā on Nanaās old jewelry downstairs.āĀ
Persimmon was in the middle of reading a book when Peachy Keen came storming in, and without a second thought, she marked her place and set the book aside. It was obvious that Peachy had enough of Cherry-- not that Persimmon could blame her-- she avoided her mother as often as she could, though it wasnāt hard to do considering the woman was so obsessed with PeachyKeen and what the younger girl had to wear and what she should eat, when she should sleep and a million other things that probably went through her mind everyday.Ā āI donāt have anywhere to be, so we can go wherever you want, Peachy Keen,ā she replied, standing up and going over, placing her hands on her little sisterās cheeks.Ā āLetās go grab some lunch-- Iām starvinā.ā Sheād had a late breakfast, but it was an excuse to get out of the house-- to get Peachy out of the house.Ā āDoes she really have you tryinā on Nanaās jewelry? I hope not those gaudy brooches. She does have a couple of pearl necklaces and rings that are really beautiful,ā she mused as she grabbed her purse.Ā āAlright, letās go-- weāll go out the back way, she wonāt know youāre missinā until itās too late.ā
āHannah you canāt eat more than one scoop of ice cream honey. Remember last time we had to throw it away and you cried?ā Matt sighed at he looked up at the cashier with a pained smile.Ā āForget it, I donāt even care. Two scoops of bubble gum ice cream for this one, two scoops of rainbow sherbet for that one and two scoops of moose tracks me me.ā He pulled his wallet out to pay for the ice cream for himself and the girls and noticed a woman standing behind him who had been incredibly patient waiting on his girls to figure out what they wanted.Ā āAnd whatever sheās having Iāll buy too.ā Matt smiled back at the woman.Ā āAs a thank you for being so kind about these kids not being able to make a decision without tears.ā
The wait at the ice cream parlor was taking a little longer than usual, but Persimmon wasnāt one to complain. She thought the entire ordeal was really sweet, not to mention she was incredibly patient-- something sheād learned over the years from having Peachy Keen as a little sister. Sheād glanced at her phone, adjusting her glasses slightly as she read a text message, not paying attention-- until she realized the man with the kids in front of her was addressing her.Ā āIām so sorry, what was that?ā she started, before she realized he was offering to buy her ice cream.Ā āOh! Thatās really so sweet of you, but it really wasnāt a big deal,ā she protested.Ā āMost kids are pretty indecisive-- I donāt even know what I wanna get yet, thereās so many choices and I have too many favorite flavors,ā she replied with a chuckle.Ā āI really appreciate that offer, though. But you donāt gotta worryĀ ābout me beinā upset or anything like that.āĀ
WHERE: anywhere tbh. but more than likely outside of a bar.
WHO: open. [ @madison-startersā ]
āSeriously? Again?ā Edieās palm smacked loudly against the window of her car, her other hand pulling with futility against the locked handle. She groaned and peered inside, the shiny, silvery glint of her keys winking at her from where they sat, nestled in the front seat. As if mockingĀ her.Ā āMother fāā she cursed her car, raising a hand to smack against the window in frustration before she thought better of it, head swiveling around to survey just how dire her situation really was. She couldnāt afford a locksmith. Not again. She could, howeverā¦Ā āHey!ā she called to the outline of a figure shrouded mostly in shadow.Ā āIf I give you twenty bucks, will you break into my car?ā
Persimmon had been waiting for her date for over an hour and heād yet to show up-- she stood outside the bar waiting for those gray bubbles to pop up and a text to come in with an explanation for leaving her waiting, a nauseous feeling of dread twisting in her stomach as she realized sheād been stood up. Brow furrowing as she contemplated the pros and cons of sending off an angry text message-- she was just about to open her phone up again when she glanced up as Edie called out to her.Ā ā---Who, me?ā she stepped away from the side of the bar.Ā āIām not sure how much help Iāll be darlinā, but maybe we can convince someone in there to help us out? Or I can call the fire department, maybe.āĀ

hi everyone, iām amanda & iām super excited to be here and to get to write with all of you! iāll be playing persimmon kennedy, and you can read about her under the cut! šĀ Ā
triggers: sibling death, blindness
@madison-introsā
persimmon kennedy, second oldest kennedy daughter. older sister to @peachykeenkennedyā. while sheās not particularly close to her parents (they suck), her sisters are her best friends.
born and raised in madison! went to college and lived in savannah for about 6 years (age 18-24)
30 years old, born on nov. 24th (sagittarius)
her family owns kennedy cherry orchard, which is incredibly successful and has been passed on for generations. she and her sisters grew up as wealthy as one can be in a small southern town, wanting for nothing. except maybe some love and affection from their parents? lol
grew up doing pageants, was also in ballet and had lessons in piano, archery, cello, horseback riding. she was also a cheerleader in high school and probably part of prom court-- all part of her motherās doing, because appearances mean everything to the kennedyās, and she wanted her daughters to all be the epitomes of the term southern belle.Ā
persimmon however-- hated most of it. while she enjoyed the activities, she hated being restricted and forced into all of it. she had no passion for any of it-- what she had passion for was art. she loved to paint and draw, specifically, though she enjoyed pottery as well. her mother expected her to continue with the pageants so she could eventually go on and compete for miss georgia and miss usa but persimmon quit and went to college instead. she ended up being accepted to the savannah college of art & design, where she decided to specialize in interior design.Ā
after graduating, she worked for a couple of years in savannah as an intern and had plans to stay in the bigger city rather than come back to madison-- but that was around the time that her older sister died.Ā
it was unexpected and a devastating blow to the family, and persimmon couldnāt in good conscience stay away when her family needed her- especially peachy keen. so she packed up the life sheād started and moved back to madison.Ā
she has since been trying to build up her portfolio working in neighboring towns and cities when she gets the opportunity, in the hopes of one day eventually opening her own business. however, more recently, sheās started to wonder if it will be possible.Ā
at the age of five, she was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a degenerative disease. itās a disease that affects oneās eyesight, and though itās very rare and affects every person differently, it usually results in complete eye loss. because each personās experience with it is different, when she was diagnosed, her doctors could not tell when exactly she would lose her sight, and though they had second, third opinions, the diagnoses was the same. some people lose their sight at a young age, some later in life. for the most part, while her eyesight wasnāt perfect and she has experienced some effects of the disease, sheās been extremely lucky. however, more recently, her sight has begun to worsen and has been told by specialists that she will lose her sight completely within the next year or two if not sooner.Ā
persimmonās still coming to terms with this fact, as sheās spent her whole life thinking she was lucky and somehow could avoid it, and still thinks somehow itās something that she can prolong-- sheās avoided telling anyone, except for her immediate family, as itās not something she wants people in town to know, because sheās not ready for it to be real. sheās thrown herself into work as much as possible, pretending everything is fine, but in reality, it is not fine at all.Ā
was engaged about six months ago but broke things off with her fiance after her doctor confirmed she will go completely blind - not wanting to burden him with what was happening to her, though she never told him what was going on, so the split was very much out of nowhere. sheās still very broken hearted over it and cherry was absolutely PISSED when she found out her daughter broke the engagement off, but sheās recently started setting persimmon up with any bachelor she can find, because she absolutely hates that persimmon is 30-- almost 31-- and still unmarried.Ā
is a madison belle!Ā
when sheās not working, she still loves to paint and draw. sheās also recently opened an etsy shop selling customizable home decor and other trinkets.Ā
literally doesnāt have to work since her parents have a ton of money and she has a trust fund once she gets married but she loves her job and bringing other people joy, and also hates sitting still and being the rich spoiled girl most people might expect her to be.Ā
so this is pretty much everything about persimmon! sheās very mild-mannered and soft, an actual sweetheart who rarely has anything bad to say about anyone (though if youāve messed with one of her sisters, she probs hates you but is like... polite about it). please give me all the connections for her - sheās a local and has lived in town for the majority of her life except for her college years. would love to have best friends, a close knit friend group, high school friends, maybe some enemies (they can dislike her for whatever reason), exes (ex fiance š ), people she mightāve been on a couple of dates with, neighbors, clients, etc.Ā

least favorite memory?
āThat would probably have to be the day of my sisterās funeral. Itās single-handedly one of the worst days of my entire lifeā besides the day we actually⦠found out she was gone. I donāt remember much from that day, itās mostly a blur. But the funeral, seeinā her in the casket, knowinā Iād never be able to talk to her again, hear her voice⦠it broke me. I donāt even know how I managed to get through that day, but I did, because I had to be strong for Peachy-Keen, since Mama and Daddy arenāt the comfortinā type. But sometimes that day will just cross my mind out of nowhere, and it just doesnāt make sense to me, to this day, that sheās gone forever. Iāll never be able to get that last memory of her out of my mind, no matter what I do.ā
best spot in town, why?
āIf youād asked me this as a child, I wouldāve probably mentioned the family orchard. I had wonderful memories there with my sisterāsā runninā wild and pickinā cherries as we liked, botherinā the harvest workers and makinā Daddy all upset ābout us getting in the way. But nowadays, Iām usually at the riverā itās a drive aways, but I spend hours on the bank, just laying peacefully in the sun, listening to the sound of the river and the chirpinā of birds every once in a while. I love goinā there to paint, tooā it does wonders for inspiration. And itās fun to go to with a whole group of peopleā tubinā is the best part of summer.ā
what is something theyāve always wanted in life?
āThe things most people want in life, I would say. To be happy, to find someone to share my life with, and to be successful. Though Iāve discovered that itās not so easy to achieve any of the aboveā Iām 30, on the brink of 31, and Iām still searching for opportunities to build up my portfolio so one day in the future I could maybe start my own interior design business, or gain enough of a reputation to work for someone reputableāwithout the help of the Kennedy name.. And my love life is no betterā Mamaās intent on setting me up with every eligible bachelor she can find, and I honestly donāt think thereās anyone left. At this point, Iād settle just for beinā happy, and most days I am. Iām luckier than most, considerinā my family and how successful itās been for generations, but no matter how much money a person may have, no matter what material items they ownā you canāt buy happy, and sooner or later the money, the pretty thingsā they are just distractions, placeholders for what really matters in life.ā
what are they afraid of?
āItās not somethinā Iām keen on telling the whole world about, but Iām afraid of whatās happening to me. Iāve known losinā my sight has been a possibility since I was a little girl, when I was first diagnosedā the doctors told me each personās experience with retinitis pigmentosa is different, that some people lose their sight as children, some later in life. But I never lost mine and this whole time Iāve been goinā around thinking āThatās never gonna happen to meā, like Iām special. Iāve been goinā around pretending, acting like Iām untouchableā and Iām not. And Iām scaredā itās the first time Iāve actually admitted it to myself, that Iām not okay. That one of these days, maybe tomorrow, maybe six months, a year, two years from nowā Iām goinā to wake up and the whole world will have gone dark altogether. And Iām not ready.ā
