However, now I have a sweet little baby boy and I'm on the 1 year maternity that's guaranteed by law in the country I live in. I'm happy to get to spend this time with my son but being a mom to an infant can be somewhat lonely and boring so I'm going to start mommyblogging here to pass the time and let off steam. I know this is the anti-having-kids website but there are also other parents on here so maybe I can get to know some of you along the way as well!

But looking at social media as a new parent can lead you to an evil part of the internet. Your feed will inevitably fill with baby videos. At first they're cute and funny but then as time goes on the content becomes more and more manipulative with parent influencers convincing parents that their child is "behind" and that your parenting efforts are not good enough. Some of the parenting even looks downright abusive, with parents claiming that babies and toddlers shouldn't have or play with toys, or telling parents to start holding babies upside down by their ankles from three months to build muscle, or to refrain from giving solids to babies in their entire first year because all they need is breast milk (FALSE), or to let the baby wean themselves with foods that are still to hard for them and pose choking hazards, etc... And when you think about how they've set up cameras to film every moment of their day, and then blast their kids face and name and the inside of their house all over the internet. All of their tantrums and misbehavior too. You have to realize that NO PARENT INFLUENCER IS ACTUALLY A GOOD PARENT. So don't get caught up in their weird advice.

I think Instagram and Facebook parents who film and post literally every moment of their baby and child's life online for views and money are seriously violating their children's privacy rights and should be criminally charged, but I'm not going to give my son's name or likeness here, and only blog about my thoughts and experiences.

This blog is a year old now... And I'm due in a couple weeks 💞

My last post in this blog was about being 15 DPO still with elevated BBTs and that eventually became 18+ days. The tests the sell here make you wait a week last your planned period date so I just had to keep waiting and my temps never went down. Finally took the test (3 times over 3 days just in case) when I could and got super dark lines. I felt dizzy like it couldn't be real. Went to the clinic and sure enough I was pregnant. But then my next thought was I'm surely going to miscarry in the first 12 weeks since so many people with PCOS do. Well now it's been 16 weeks and everything is still fine. Seriously unbelievable. I read through my past posts and remembered how utterly miserable I was. That was such a hard time for me and I sincerely have so much compassion for all those still struggling. I'm going to make it one if my principles to always stand up for those struggling for infertility. I'll never forget what it's like. That being said, my pregnancy is far from over and anything could still happen.

Today does mark day 15 of elevated BBT temps tho... Which could mean nothing obviously. And everything I read says getting pregnant is supposed to make your libido cease to exist or whatever so who knows wtf is wrong with me.
