I just imagine that if the whole media thing against him in the lightning thief ever comes up he just knows a bunch of legal details surrounding that and police procedure just from general research during this period like in the same way everyone knows random architecture facts for Annabeth they know legal facts for him (he’s so quiet tho so it’s probably like Annabeth and Grover and maybe beckendkrf or sm like it’s limited)
ok now I’m imagining that if he ever interacted with police (possibly with the cannon incident?) when he was younger he’d start talking himself out of trouble and like bringing up laws before he realised that’s more a courtroom thing

YOU GET IT!!! I wanted to tie in his experience in CJ + on the Senate + as Praetor but I didn’t lol but he did so well with politics and legality of Camp Jupiter that it makes so much sense

But like it’s been proven multiple times that Percy’s mouth gets him in and out of trouble so easily and like yeah being a lawyer you have to present arguments and evidence and all that - build a good case and everything - but also you’re convincing a jury and personality and conviction do well in that setting and Percy can do really well in that position as we see in Son of Neptune when he and Octavian were in the Senate and Octavian would indirectly communicate to the senators and Percy would catch it then meet him in “battle”
Like he says to Reyna in son: “You’re a warrior, Octavian is a speaker, put him in front of [a crowd/the senate] and suddenly he becomes the powerful one.” But Percy does that role just as well too and is able to beat Octavian down without being crucified for it so he’s clearly also a speaker when it comes down to it. And that’s not all a lawyer is but it certainly helps with the job
