Magnetic Moment by kalina-blue - M, Complete, 18 Ch. - FWHG My take on the marriage law, but I created a loophole. A story about the beginning of Fred and Hermione’s relationship and their struggle to be accepted by their friends and families. Will they be able to prove that opposites do attract?

“Yes, I need help.  That’s why I came to you.  If anyone can figure out how to make sure the fireworks don’t set fire to the school or students, it’s you,” Fred said.

“You think I’m going to help you interrupt my OWL’s?” Hermione said, crossing her arms.

“Darling, I’m going to set off fireworks for Ol’ Toad Face either way.  I thought you might want to help me make sure the dragon’s fire breath is minimally reactive.  Come on.  You’re the only one I trust to do this,” Fred said, pulling at her arms until she uncrossed them.  

Taking his hands in hers, she said, “You can still get a rich color if you use a mixture of unicorn hair and pixie dust in place of the powdered dragon scales.”

“Nah, unicorn hair burns too quickly,” he said.

“Occamy eggshells have too high of a flash point.  Maybe you could just incorporate a delayed response Lumos to just the pixie dust,” she said, looking up at Fred.

He nodded.

“Wait a minute,” she said, pulling away from him. “You figured this out already.”

“Yeah.  Took me about twenty-five minutes longer than it took you.  You know how sexy you are when you’re being brilliant?” Fred asked.  

“You’re ridiculous, you know?” Hermione said.

“Yeah,” Fred said, taking her face in his hands. “Love me though?”

Since its founding in 2007, Tumblr has always been a place for wide open, creative self-expression at the heart of community and culture. To borrow from our founder David Karp, we’re proud to have inspired a generation of artists, writers, creators, curators, and crusaders to redefine our culture and to help empower individuality.

Over the past several months, and inspired by our storied past, we’ve given serious thought to who we want to be to our community moving forward and have been hard at work laying the foundation for a better Tumblr. We’ve realized that in order to continue to fulfill our promise and place in culture, especially as it evolves, we must change. Some of that change began with fostering more constructive dialogue among our community members. Today, we’re taking another step by no longer allowing adult content, including explicit sexual content and nudity (with some exceptions).  

Let’s first be unequivocal about something that should not be confused with today’s policy change: posting anything that is harmful to minors, including child pornography, is abhorrent and has no place in our community. We’ve always had and always will have a zero tolerance policy for this type of content. To this end, we continuously invest in the enforcement of this policy, including industry-standard machine monitoring, a growing team of human moderators, and user tools that make it easy to report abuse. We also closely partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Watch Foundation, two invaluable organizations at the forefront of protecting our children from abuse, and through these partnerships we report violations of this policy to law enforcement authorities. We can never prevent all bad actors from attempting to abuse our platform, but we make it our highest priority to keep the community as safe as possible.

So what is changing?

Posts that contain adult content will no longer be allowed on Tumblr, and we’ve updated our Community Guidelines to reflect this policy change. We recognize Tumblr is also a place to speak freely about topics like art, sex positivity, your relationships, your sexuality, and your personal journey. We want to make sure that we continue to foster this type of diversity of expression in the community, so our new policy strives to strike a balance.

Why are we doing this?

It is our continued, humble aspiration that Tumblr be a safe place for creative expression, self-discovery, and a deep sense of community. As Tumblr continues to grow and evolve, and our understanding of our impact on our world becomes clearer, we have a responsibility to consider that impact across different age groups, demographics, cultures, and mindsets. We spent considerable time weighing the pros and cons of expression in the community that includes adult content. In doing so, it became clear that without this content we have the opportunity to create a place where more people feel comfortable expressing themselves.

Bottom line: There are no shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content. We will leave it to them and focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community.

So what’s next?

Starting December 17, 2018, we will begin enforcing this new policy. Community members with content that is no longer permitted on Tumblr will get a heads up from us in advance and steps they can take to appeal or preserve their content outside the community if they so choose. All changes won’t happen overnight as something of this complexity takes time.

Another thing, filtering this type of content versus say, a political protest with nudity or the statue of David, is not simple at scale. We’re relying on automated tools to identify adult content and humans to help train and keep our systems in check. We know there will be mistakes, but we’ve done our best to create and enforce a policy that acknowledges the breadth of expression we see in the community.

Most importantly, we’re going to be as transparent as possible with you about the decisions we’re making and resources available to you, including more detailed information, product enhancements, and more content moderators to interface directly with the community and content.

Like you, we love Tumblr and what it’s come to mean for millions of people around the world. Our actions are out of love and hope for our community. We won’t always get this right, especially in the beginning, but we are determined to make your experience a positive one.

Everything was dark. Slowly, he started hearing voices around him, first from the distance, then closer. He used all his strength, but finally opened his eyes. Well, one eye. He blinked again, but still not able to see with his right eye. What was happening? A problem to solve later, he thought and tried to look around. On his right, a wall. He turned his head and saw you as you were standing upon him, facing the hallway. A dark figure stood in front of you, ready to attack. You finally gathered enough courage, thought of George, lying behind you, almost dead. Green light lit up the hallway and the dark figure fell to the floor. You stood frozen for a moment, but then remembered George and quickly turned around to see how is he. He looked at you with one eye, smiled and closed it, it was exhausting. Everyone else left, but Fred was still with you. He sat beside George’s head, still just looking in the distance because of the shock. You thought rapidly, you had to get them to safety somehow. After a minute, you finally got Fred on his legs and wait like a puppet. The shock was big and it was better than nothing. You had to get them somewhere safe. George in all this time lost all his powers to do anything so you just lifted his body and made a protective bubble around it.

“C’mon, Fred, let’s go,” you took his hand and carefully moved George around. Somehow you got to the Hogsmeade with not more injuries than you already had.

                                       ***2 months later***

“Y- Y/n? Is th- that you?” You heard from the living room as you stepped in the kitchen and talked to Molly.

“Yeah, George, it’s me, I’ll be right there!” You turned to Molly: “How is he?”

She almost cried. You took your hand and tried to be the best support you could. “Well, it’s better than dying. He, as you heard, stutters. There was a physical and mental breakdown quite a while after the accident. These are the remains. And, his left side of the body hasn’t recovered yet, so he has to walk with a limp and cane … Well, he mostly just sits in the living room and we come to him. He always talks about you.” A sad smile came over her face. “Plus, he is blinded on his right eye. Mungo folk says it was probably the shock of that wall hitting his head and a nerve got damaged.”

“And Fred?”

“Still at Mungo but getting better everyday. A part of curse still hit him, even though George blocked the most of it, so he’s on therapy.”

You were kind of scared to see George, how he was struggling, how in pain was he, but you put a brave smile on your face and went into the living room.

“Hey George,” you went up to his armchair and kissed him on the cheek.

“H- hey, Y/n. I- I’m so gl- glad you’re he- here. I w- want you to kn- know th- that you’re the on- only thing th- that’s keep- keeping me up. I w- would pro- probably give- give- give- up if you we- wer- weren’t he- here.”

“Hey hey, you don’t have to torture yourself,” you said calmly. “I’m so glad I exist right now. Because if I weren’t, you would give up. And you can’t. Do you hear me, you can’t, okay? I will be here with you and don’t worry, I won’t go anywhere unless you need something, okay?”

Can you do Fred finding out that Hermione not only once set snape on fire but also stole from him, I feel like he’d be so amused ! -anon

The sun was setting behind the hill and Hermione leaned back on her hands, taking it in while Fred tossed a quaffle back and forth between his hands. Suddenly, his positioning changed and he lobbed the quaffle across their small circle at Ginny who grabbed it instinctively.

“You’ve got to be better than that, Fred,” she said lightly, looking at one twin while she threw the quaffle at the other. The red ball hit George square in the face and bounced off. Harry, Ron, Ginny, and Fred laughed while Hermione looked over, saw George massaging his nose and finally joined in.

Ron is a wanker and leaves Hermione after they find out she can’t have kids. Fred picks up the pieces. (Maybe they adopt a little metamorphagas.) - joellen818

Hermione sat outside the courtroom, squeezing Fred’s hand. It had been a hectic morning - a hectic month, really - and all she wanted was to be on their way home, everything squared away.

“Hermione,” Fred said, quietly, looking down at her. She looked up, her brown eyes meeting his, and he pecked her on the lips. “Everything’s going to be fine.” He paused. “Unless you break my hand in which case I might be mad at you.”

Fred was at his wit’s end. He had been trying to be subtle, to play it cool, but nothing had worked. And here he was, sitting in the common room, just waiting for Hermione to come back from wherever she was. It was time to get serious.

Get it together, Weasley, he thought as the portrait hole swung open and he felt his stomach jump into his throat. It was only Ron.
