To say Jay's upbringing was a rough one was...an understatement to say the least. They were the aftermath of a particular night between his biological father-an extremely wealthy man who was a manager for future famous musicians- and his biological mother, a 19-20 year old woman who basically never grew out of her high school mean girl persona (she was essentially the equivalent of an A-lister) . The two constantly had an on and off fling, until after one particular night where Jay's bio mom became pregnant with him. His bio dad wasn't particularly interested in raising a child, so he ditched the two and moved to much bigger city, never to be seen again.

As for his bio mom? With her being extremely vain and not being completely interested in actually raising a child, she became abusive from the moment Jay was born. She did the bare necessities to keep him alive, but she didn't truly love him and even went as far as to blame him for his bio dad leaving.

When Jay was 6-7, he ran away from home one night and spent a couple of months hiding in alleyways, stealing food from stands and pit pocketing money from people. That is until one day he stole from Lydia Oliver- a young woman who recently graduated from college and moved to Amity Park trying to get her foot in the door as a paranormal researcher. Lydia was annoyed at first but acknowledged Jay was a run away kid trying to survive, so she took them under her wing and bought him some actual food despite her not being wealthy. She caught glimpse of Jay's story and let them live with her so that he wouldn't put in an abusive foster care system or anything of the sort. She went through the legal process of getting her as his legal guardian (all after gaining his trust and helping him heal from his abuse), and the two have been living together ever since.

Jay enrolled in elementary school when he was 8-9 (after getting legally adopted by Lydia) and because he still had alot of trust issues, he was considered a 'problem child' in the eyes of both teachers and other kids, so as a result Jay didn't really have any friends. That was until one day when his current best friend-Lila Reyes-stood up for him against the (child) A-listers while they were bullying him. He didn't really want anything to do with her at first, but after a long series of events that lead to Jay snapping and apologizing to her, the two became best friends, and are still best friends to this day.

Jay had a relatively happier childhood from that point on, although of course his past trauma will never truly leave him. They're not very popular in the high school environment, but likes it that way as he prefers to keep to himself with a couple of close friends. He has a friendly relationship with Danny, Sam and Tucker, and figured out early on that Danny and Phantom are the same person; he just keeps it to himself because he stays in his own lane. (He does fuck with Wes about it though)

ADDITIONAL FACTS!

💙Jay is a hopeless romantic and tends to fall in love a little too easily; He has a crush on Danny, Sam, Tucker, and a few other students (He doesn't have a crush on Lila though, as he enjoys their platonic relationship and Lila is a lesbian!)

💙 They actually don't know what to do after high school; he hasn't really thought about it much. He has thought about being an artist though.

💙 The eye that covers his hair is actually a lazy eye.

💙 Like nearly any teenager, he really enjoys Humpty Dumpty. They also really like any metal, rock and roll, punk music, etc. He just likes music in general.

💙 Both of his bio parents don't live in Amity Park anymore; he doesn't really know where they are right now nor does he really care.

💙 He's autistic and his main hyper fixation is actually birds! He loves them, knows almost everything about them, and even has four pet birds at home! (Line up of them down below! The ghost vulture actually ties in with a hypothetical season 2 episode, he does keep her in the end!)
