My three most recent Chinese pen acquisitions. Or, no, that's not true: my Wing Sung 601 came after the PenBBS 309. Anyway: these are pretty great? I recommend the PenBBS without reservations. The Moonman M2 is solidly good, although I do have a few small dissatisfactions. I inked up the Delike Smurfs for the first time this morning, and, like. Wow, this nib. It's got that same not-quite-fude curve as the PenBBS nibs, but it's smooth where my PenBBS is feedbacky. I probably need to spend some more time with it, but right now it just makes me want to write.

Today's all-Chinese, all piston-filling lineup.

Re-blog if you can write in cursive.
I heard cursive is dying. I want to see who still uses it.
Yes, but I’m older. I learned my signature at eight, and cursive at nine. Circa 1972.
Yes, but terribly. I was only taught cursive for a couple of years (2nd and 3rd grade?) in the early ‘90s, and never asked to use it afterwards, so when I write in cursive it looks like the handwriting of a small child.
Wing Sung 618, Private Reserve Tropical Blue, Rhodia Unlimited
When I look at this it's hard to remember why I shouldn't replace my Wing Sung 618 with a blue one instead of trying to fix it.
Five pens in my pen case for the first time in a while, and I haven’t posted anything here in ages, so...
Wing Sung 618: I love this pen? Completely transparent, Parker 51-based piston-filler, somewhere around $12 when I bought it. Inked with Robert Oster Tranquility. I’ve actually been having some weird flow issues this past week, but I think I fixed it. (I still have no idea what was going on, but the flow would consistently give out after a couple of words. I took off the section, nib and feed, and flushed them--without taking the ink out of the pen. So the ink is a little watered-down now, but the pen is writing well again.)
Lamy Profil 80: I also love this pen. It’s got the smoothest oblique broad gold nib, and it’s comfortable to hold in the same way the Lamy 2000 is. Inked with Organic Studios Walden Pond, which sheens at least as much as you’ve heard.
Pilot Falcon: I don’t know that I love this pen, exactly, but it’s a very good one, and my only problem with is is that somehow I usually end up with ink on my fingers after writing with it. Noodler’s Mandalay Maroon, the remains of a several-year-old sample.
Esterbrook SJ: Actually the larger of my two Esties. I’ve got an Osmiroid nib in it currently, a Soft Fine Italic that’s sort of been worn into an oblique. I inherited it from my step-grandfather, and it’s beautifully smooth from exactly one angle and horribly scratchy from every other. Robert Oster Fire and Ice.
SKB Triangle: I don’t know if that’s’ really the correct name. The AliExpress listing I bought it from called it a “lipstick pen.” It’s sort of like an untwisted Pelikan Twist, with an equally aggressive triangle grip. I just got this, and it may actually be too uncomfortable to hold, but the nib is reasonably nice--feedback-y, but not in a bad way. Delta Brown, also the tail end of an old sample.

Very much taken with the Wing Sung 698. Looks good--better than the TWSBIs that inspired it, in my opinion--feels solid, and is compatible with Pilot Super Quality nibs and feeds. If it came in nib sizes other than EF I'd be recommending them to everyone I know. Not that there's a problem with their EF nibs. I switched this one out for the stub from a Pilot Plumix right away, but I've used the same one on my 659s.
Sharing this because I had NO IDEA that this is how they worked…
