I gossip with my 14 year old daughter. I know all the dirt on her friends and she knows all the dirt on the women in our neighborhood.

People actually wash their hair more than once a week? I wash my hair every 3-4 months like I’m not even about that once a week life
It's hygienic... I can't go a week much less 3-4 months without washing my hair or else I feel dirty. I actually get up from bed in the middle of the night to wash my hair.
To each their own I guess :/

"They don't like my hair"
I seriously don't understand why I read from other naturals complaining about their mom's and aunt's and everyone else and their mom's talking negatively about their hair. God damn! It's your flipping hair who gives a damn. Why the hell do you need your moms permission to BC?! Is she the one paying for it? Is she the one still styling your hair?! Please someone inform me, enlighten me on this mystery as to why some naturals care so damn much about what their family thinks. It annoys me to no end when I see posts about naturals complaining about their grandma and their moms and their family in general telling/asking them "to fix" their hair.
In the end it is your hair, Stop giving a damn!
If only more people thought the same
I need this swim suit!!!

We teach females that in relationships, compromise is what women do. We raise girls to see each other as competitors, not for jobs or for accomplishments— which I think can be a good thing— but for the attention of men. We teach girls that they cannot be sexual beings in the way that boys are. If we have sons, we don’t mind knowing about our sons’ girlfriends, but our daughters boyfriends? ‘God forbid!’ But of course when the time is right, we expect those girls to bring back the perfect man to be their husband. We police girls, we praise girls for virginity, but we don’t praise boys for virginity. And it’s always made me wonder how exactly this is supposed to work out because *laughs* the loss of virginity is usually a process that involves *laughs*… We teach girls shame. ‘Close your legs!’ ‘Cover yourself!’ We make them feel as though by being born female, they are already guilty of something. And so, girls grow up to be women who cannot say they have desire. They grow up to be women who silence themselves. They grow up to be women who cannot say what they truly think. And they grow up—and this is the worst thing we do to girls—they grow up to be women who have turned pretense into an artform.

I can’t stop rewatching this talk. Adichie is my hero and she just /gets/ these issues so well. She’s incredible, and everyone should watch her talk, if they haven’t already.

I love this guy!!!
1. It makes me feel cleaner.
2. Are you saying I’m dirtier than you are, because my vagina has naturally occurring hair? Hair that wicks bacteria and odors out of my vagina?
3. If you have hair in your vagina, you should see a doctor. The word is “vulva.”
4. Stop trying...

I need a really good and thick moisturizer for my hair. What do you ladies use and what do you suggest?
have you tried wash and goes or just straight up braids. I've been learning how to do so many types of braids since going natural
I've tried wash and goes twice, but I'm still unsure about it. I have really thick hair that grows outward and I don't like it when it becomes hard and doesn't flow. Also, I don't know how to stop the frizz. I live in Florida and it is humid and my curls just lose it.
I'm honestly not that good at braiding. I can do plaits, but that is it. French braids, cornrows anything extravagant are not in my repertoire. I can't even do a straight part in my hair when I am sectioning off my hair to do twists hahaa.
