“i don’t think anything will ruin the making out.” richie smiled, pressing a kiss to stan’s jaw. “you love it too much.”

stan rolled his eyes, unable to help his smile as richie continued to kiss down his neck. “is that right?”

“mhm. you like my mouth.”

“maybe. only when it’s not speaking.” richie nipped at his neck. “hey!”

richie sat back and grinned at him. “hey.”

stan sighed. “just kiss me.”

“about what?”

“about running away,” stan said, still facing away. “i don’t want to run away from derry.”

“okay…..” said richie. “weren’t you looking at colleges on the other side of the country though?”

“yeah, but…” stan turned to him. “not to run away from here. but to run to there.” he looked down at their joined hands. “with you. i want to run toward our future. together.”

a smile spread over richie’s face. “stanley, that sounds perfect.”

stan looked up and couldn’t help but smile too. “good,” he said. “i’m glad you agree.”
