1999 - The Simpsons predicts everything that happens in the world
The messed up part is that this, along with the Trump presidency, were predicted as jokes. These were seen as things so ridiculous that not only could they not actually happen, the idea of them was funny. So every time a Simpsons prediction comes true, the Simpsons wasnât really trying to predict the future, they were making a cynical joke because they thought the real future would be better than it actually is. Weâre living in the timeline where all the Simpsonsâ worst assumptions about the world were 100% right.

I keep seeing comments about how idols donât have the right to complain or feel sad because theyâre âcelebritiesâ who are ârichâ. Honestly, that makes me really mad. Idols are humans too. They have their own thoughts, emotions, and feelings. Theyâre not perfect, just like us, and thatâs okay. I understand that some people may not like some idols for certain reasons. However, that does NOT give you the right to be leaving hateful/hurtful comments on their social media accounts or music videos.Â
The idea that mental illnesses are not real needs to stop. Mental health issue is very much a real and serious issue. Idols have their own problems and struggles that we fans will never know about unless we become idols ourselves. You canât just go around telling them how to feel or what to do because you have this particular view of them. Theyâre always under constant pressure to be âperfectâ and thatâs already hard enough on them. They do NOT need any hateful/hurtful comments to read. For all you know, those words could be the last straw.
Ever since the devastating news about Jonghyun was announced, I keep seeing those terrible comments about him and other idols. Thatâs why I decided to make this post talking about just a few idols who talk about these issues. Isnât one death enough for you all?? How many deaths does there need to be until you realize that this is a serious issue that needs to be handled delicately? Why do you have to continue to criticize idols and tell them to go die just because theyâre not doing/didnât do something exactly the way you want them to? Why do you make their mental health issues invalid simply just because theyâre celebrities? Remember that these idols are human beings too. Think before you post, comment, or say anything. Once you say it, it cannot be taken back. Donât say something that youâll regret later on. This goes for any mental health issues regarding a human being, idol or not.
Fred Rogers ladies and gentleman!
Here are some interesting facts about him:
He basically saved public television. In 1969 the government wanted to cut public television funds. Mister Rogers then went to Washington where he gave an amazing merely six minute speech. By the end of the speech not only did he charm the hostile Senators, he got them to double the budget they would have initially cut down. The whole thing can be found on youtube, a video called âMister Rogers defending PBS to the US Senate.â
âCertain fundamentalist preachers hated him because, apparently not getting the âkindest man who ever livedâ memo, they would ask him to denounce homosexuals. Mr. Rogersâs response? Heâd pat the target on the shoulder and say, âGod loves you just as you are.â Rogers even belonged to a âMore Lightâ congregation in Pittsburgh, a part of the Presbyterian Church dedicated to welcoming LGBT persons to full participation in the church.â
According to a TV Guide piece on him, Fred Rogers drove a plain old Impala for years. One day, however, the car was stolen from the street near the TV station. When Rogers filed a police report, the story was picked up by every newspaper, radio and media outlet around town. Amazingly, within 48 hours the car was left in the exact spot where it was taken from, with an apology on the dashboard. It read, âIf weâd known it was yours, we never would have taken it.â
Once, on a fancy trip up to a PBS execâs house, he heard the limo driver was going to wait outside for 2 hours, so he insisted the driver come in and join them (which flustered the host). On the way back, Rogers sat up front, and when he learned that they were passing the driverâs home on the way, he asked if they could stop in to meet his family. According to the driver, it was one of the best nights of his lifeâthe house supposedly lit up when Rogers arrived, and he played jazz piano and bantered with them late into the night. Further, like with the reporters, Rogers sent him notes and kept in touch with the driver for the rest of his life.

He also sued the KKK in 1990 when they tried to use his likeness to try to promote racism to kids
Mr. Rogers was the best.

So I went to an art conference at my school. We discussed things there, like how colors can be very powerful and our subconscious picks up the subtlest of hints. Pixarâs UP was a very unforgettable example. The colors of UP had a lot to do with why we cried. You all know what Iâm talking about, right??
Ellieâs death.
We were told that her color was pink. Thatâs why her hospital room had pinkish hue.
And the next scene had strong pink hues. He misses her. I think itâs got strong colors because of her personality.
Also, Itâs like her presence is still lingering.
When he got home, only a small part of the frame (window on the right) has a pink hue as the sun is setting. By now, we know her presence is drifting away.
Mr. Fredricksen walks up the porch and goes into his house.
And when he shuts the door, the final frame looks like this:
Ellie is gone.
The entire frame is desaturated and cold because the warmth in Mr. Fredricksonâs life is gone.
And thatâs another reason why this masterpiece is heart-wrenching. And thatâs how powerful colors are in films.
Thanks, I hate it!
