“There’s been a lot going on. Been busy. If you’ve got something to say, spit it out.”

“I think we’re way past hugging it out at this point. The Inhumans are pissed.”

“If yer’ lookin for Sam or Paige, you’ve got the wrong Guthrie. Is there somethin’ I can help you with?”

Clint paused for a moment before deciding why the hell not as he handed Lorna another arrow and motioned for her to go for it.

“–– tender…subject?”

alex was in no rush to answer. not that he wanted to answer at all to be honest, but he couldn’t just sit in silence forever. lorna deserved answers.

“is it cheating if i say i’m not sure? i’d like to say no, but i don’t know if i can.”

alex had done some shitty things, but did that make one a bad person? the questions were getting too deep - too existential - at this hour, and he wasn’t sure what to make of it.

“i mean, if you asked me back when they first assigned me to the hellions - i think i’d be able to answer a loooot quicker,” he let out a terse laugh, carding a hand through unruly blonde locks, “– remind me again why we’re discussing this?”

Flopping back onto the bed while he spoke, a few coins found their way to Lorna. The mutant watched them float through the air, the metal weaving itself through her fingers. “You’re not a bad person, Alex. Even with all that Hellions stuff.” She sighed. “Besides, you graduated. I still need to throw you a party, y’know. Something small. A Happy Hellion Graduation get together, or something.”

Why was one of the X-Men here? Monica was on edge as she stood a bit straighter and raised a brow at the green-haired woman. “Pleasure to meet you, Polaris. Can I ask what you’re here in regards to?”

“No, you can’t pet Amazing Baby. He’s working.”

“Wanda didn’t totally break reality, so I guess she has that going for her. S.H.I.E.L.D. sucks.”

“You’re right, actually.” Daisy snorted, shaking her head at the realization. Maybe that could be seen as a little toxic, but honestly she was just glad that they’d been reunited again. Losing a twin had to be one of the most messed up things to go through, ever. “I don’t know if it exists.” She teased back, listening as Lorna listed some of her changes that she’d been going through recently. Or rather, what she’d learned about who she was before Pleasant Hill happened. Pretty soon the transition would be seamless, but Daisy still felt bad for Lorna, even if she didn’t seem too upset. “Well… congrats on the Phd?” She tried to joke, shrugging a bit as she laughed softly. “That must be really weird, having people point that kind of stuff out.”

“Hey, cut her some slack. I know resurrections have kind of desensitized us to this kind of stuff, but Laura still feels super guilty about it. None of us had any idea that was all going down.”

“That’s how I initially felt until my wife and I were dragged down her to help. Now it’s all somehow my problem.”

“No, sorry. I actually uh, missed out on the second half of the Gala. And the after party.” And the next couple days after that as the Quiet Council and the Five ultimately decided to resurrect her.

“More like an X-Factor problem. Emma’s still trying to get to the bottom of how security fumbled at the Gala. It’s a mess.”

“Wait, so you just left that lady’s cat in the tree?”
