“Oh, no, the cold is cool with me. I can’t even really feel it, remember?” Gabby could feel things, but her pain receptors were completely blocked. So she could enjoy the nice weather without the uncomfortable sensation that most bodies gave as a response to cover up. She had a jacket on regardless though as she plopped down next to Logan. “You’re not getting rid of me that easy.”

“I’m aware that many don’t know about the Shi’ar. As their ruler, I’m happy to answer questions you may have.”

“I heard you were a Marauder now. Cool.”

“Who are you and why do you look like my dad?” Dad was kind of a strong word for what Logan was to her, but it was still the most fitting.

“We can talk about something other than the Gala, you know. There are other – less important – things going on.”

“I think mutant resurrection being out in the public trumps the Gala right now, Emma. No offense. Which sucks, cause I was really looking forward to actually going to this one.”

“It is quite the time for mutants, I agree. We are living in an unprecedented age. And outsiders’ opinions are of.. little matter to me.”

Gabby’s bone claws were extended as she glared at the man, turning up her nose at his scent. “You smell like where they keep dead people in a hospital. Also I will tear your shit up if you come any closer.”

“It’s Logan booze. I just drink it. You’re free to try some, if you’d like.”

“No thanks. One of us Wolverines has to be sober most of the time. Also I think Laura would kill you if I took a sip.”

“If the mutants can resurrect people, don’t you think they should be sharing that? The world needs a Stephen Strange.”

“It’s not really any of the world’s business. It’s not like you guys have given mutants much of a reason to share something like that.”

“Hey! How’s it hanging? You know ‘cuz I’m— yeah, you get it. Anyway, somethin’ I can help you with?”

“Oh, no, I’m all good here.” Gabby insisted, although the giant gaping wound on her side was probably alarming to people who didn’t know her. “I can’t even feel it. And I’m not just saying that. It’ll heal in a couple of secs.”

“You clearly have no concept of how the Multiverse works. Buen intento, though.”
