I think itās clear that slow horses will end with the reveal that Frank has countless other secret radicalized children of varying ages (possibly even some embryos in storage) who have infiltrated and eroded every layer of European society. The enemy within was Americanization this whole time, which on a meta level of course represents Hollywoodās degradation of the classic British spy genre,
Happy Pride Month to those two women dancing together in the foreground of the boat scene in Godzilla (1954).
Iām sorry your romantic foibles were overshadowed by a big ass atomic lizard thing.
Edit: this post is blowing up so Iām gonna shamelessly plug my art account. Follow me and Iāll draw the Godzilla lesbians @thenonbinaryfriendnamedcrumb
2nd edit: Yes. Female friends dance with eachother. But why canāt they be lesbians?? Iāve seen people on this website ship two men for astronomically less.
when i say i like hiking, i donāt mean āeight mile backpacking trip with special gear and an emergency beaconā sort of hiking, i mean a three mile loop to go look at pretty things and then a huge brunch after.
this is in no way a slam on hardcore hiking, itās very fun, but i mostly just need to lower peopleās expectations when i say hiking is a hobby of mine
"No no, that's ranger hiking. I like hobbit hiking."
#you gotta be more specific man#Hobbits are specifically famous for two Really Long Walks
Long Walks Georgs were outliers adn should not have been counted

can we bring back the term "fair-weather friend" bc I feel like if fair-weather friends got called that more this whole argument about whether or not you should be there for your friends when it's inconvenient/at what point of personal inconvenience it's ok to bail on your friends would kinda fall apart bc like. we literally have a word for "friend who's only there when you don't need something from them" because the baseline expectation is that a friend should be there even when it sucks. like we used to make fun of people for bailing on their friends.
How many times can you get stuck in a timeloop before you have to ask yourself if youre doing it on purpose?
Are these the same time loops or different ones?
originally this was a bit that came into my head so it was different loops but as I was writing it out the same loop is actually also kind of interesting. Are you purposefully propogating the loop? Probably not. But are you absolutely sure? No part of you is trying to get your pefect ending?

alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?

This got more traction than I imagined and has motivated me to make a more thorough survey where I can actually parse the data.
No email is necessary to input to complete the survey. Please also consider sharing this off tumblr with people in your life to get a broader sample, especially people who love history and love museums!
Please give your thoughts on Generative AI (such as Sora, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) usage in museums, archives, and other cultural heritage sit
What did you mean with the implications of River's name thing? Idk if I missed something obvious, but I'd love to know your thoughts anyway!
hey!!! you didnāt miss anything dw lol, just my thoughts on his name
cartwright is a surname that bears a heavy weight for river. everyone automatically compares him to his grandfather (heās even called cartwright jr a few times!). iāve seen a few fanfics where he refuses davidās suggestion that he goes by a different name for training so he wouldnāt have an automatic target on his back, which is just so delicious to me. i donāt think it would be about the prestige of the name for river. i think the name cartwright, even with all the baggage, gives him a concrete tie to his grandparents (who are really his only family at this point). itās no wonder that he didnāt change his name, even if it wouldāve made things a bit easier for himāhe is so desperate to belong somewhere that it was never a question
river as a first name is also interesting to me. it is a common source of mockery for river in the show (and in the books iām sure, although i havenāt read them yet). he says the line āmy mum was in her hippy phaseā which iām sure is something david said to him as a kid and he learnt to parrot, but even if he doesnāt seem pleased at the name he still chooses to keep it. itās same thing with his last name: he couldāve changed his name to make his life a bit easier, but the name river is one of the only things that he has from his mother. even with their terrible relationship, of course he wouldnāt want to get rid of it!! river abandonment issues georg,,,
sometimes i also hc river as transmasc, which is another fun layer with his name. i think isobel wouldāve named him river either way, so when he transitioned he still kept it as a way to belong with her (in a way)
also. no wonder river cartwright is so fucked up heās got three sort of father figures and the most stable one is jackson lamb

Lol, hereās a fun one: if you had been born in the medieval era and without access to modern medicine, how long would you have lived? If I managed to survive being born (unlikely) I would have died at age 22 from appendicitis :) hbu?
The number of you absolutely convinced you would have been convicted of witchcraft and burned at the stake seems statistically unlikely.
