For those not in the know primarily those who don't keep up with old SMPs like Mindcrack despite its revival- the creator of the SMP, Guude, was arrested the other day for 10 charges of second degree exploitation of a minor (MAJOR TW PEDOPHILIA/CSA, link to the warrant and charges). while i know not many folk in the new community of MCYT know him or watched him, i havent seen people mention it yet and its worth getting out there considering he was good friends with and produced content with a lot of current Hermitcrafters who had been on Mindcrack before (like Etho or Bdubs)
Guude was a huge part of some minecraft youtuber's lives, in terms of where they are today. Bdubs, Etho, Beef, and Doc all grew an audience thanks to servers like Mindcrack existing. Some videos have gotten unlisted (everything from Arkas seems to be gone now) and I imagine it will only get worse.
it is incredibly painful seeing this happen as someone who wouldn't be into mcyt if it weren't for Mindcrack. While I was not a main watcher of his, i certainly enjoy watching him alongside Bdubs in all their collabs. There are so many series he took part in, numerous moments and clips I have found hilarious and like rewatching. this arrest and the charges are undeniable and its awful seeing such a key figure in many people's lives be revealed for this, as well as knowing all these years of videos will likely be removed for good. for understandable reasons, but its a major loss for the community and everyone that enjoyed him and the community he built around Mindcrack
