It’s pancake day! Well, it may be but Team OMFP are on a roll with our persona creation process... Refining our questions and then getting our survey out to Etsy user groups on Facebook, our own individual social media contacts, as well as local designer groups. Looking forward to getting out into the real world too and interviewing people but we had to make sure we’re asking the right questions - vital for an accurate persona!

Still Monday, still rockin it... After reviewing the brief and getting more acquainted with Etsy, it was time to start the formation of personas. To begin, we brainstormed some questions for a survey and to use as a basis for interviews.... Testing this with classmates who are Etsy users was a great way to rapidly get some meaningful results. Couldn’t wait to get the survey out!!!

It’s the first group project and I’m part of Team OMFP alongside Mike and Fiona and our project is for...... Etsy! We’re to create a new feature on Etsy to make it easier for customers and designers to buy one-off items. A super-cool project, who knows where it’s gonna take us!

After a super crazy couple of weeks so it was great that all of UXDi11 stuck around for ‘Thirst Friday’ at General Assembly - the drinks were flowing! Love my classmates and instructors - you guys are all legends. :)

Presentation day! It all comes down to this... I have to admit, I’m really enjoying the presentation of projects - I’m always keen on getting up there as soon as possible... Plus, my jumper was bang on brand for Selfridges - definitely wasn’t intentional, i just love that jumper haha!

It’s been an intense few days and, as you can see in the top image, the whole class is working incredibly hard on their projects. Well looking forward to seeing how all the different projects have been approached and especially seeing the guys with the same Selfridges brief as me! Today as also great getting more input from my class mates in more crits plus testing my interactive prototype... Plenty to do still!

It’s time to see what my fellow students think of my concept with group critique... Sufficed to say that I’ve got a rethink to do!!!

Today has been fantastic getting my design ideas tested by real people. Big thanks to Shippy, Zelia, Sam, Barton and Duncan for being such supportive and helpful sports... A massive help and extremely enlightening!!!

Time for testing!

This morning it was time to get my design ideas down on paper ready to create some prototypes... Then, onto testing!

Amongst many (many) other things I did today, I conducted some card sorting.... Very interesting and enlightening!

Friday - user flow day, well, for me anyway haha! Our TA Tom was a great help today, guiding me towards breaking down my Task Analysis into the main tasks for their own specific user flow. Saying that, they’re lots of them to do now!!! I’m all over it like a salad dressing....

The design studio finished with me presenting our results to the class... It felt like quite a buzz! :)
