this whole situation is awful, but please remember that all the social progress we’ve made the last decades won’t be lost over night. no matter what happens, we need to keep fighting now more than ever

social justice is good and all but this site expects people to be perfect which is unrealistic & absurd personally i think it’s at least largely due to the word “problematic” being used so freely like… i mean god lmao when someone calls a celebrity their “problematic fave” you have to sit back and wonder whether they mean “said something mildly homophobic 15 years ago” or “abused their girlfriend” because it’s used so freely to describe both and as a result of that mentality a lot of people on here end up subconsciously believing that “violent misogyny” and “mild mistakes regarding stereotypes” are the same things when they really really aren’t.. and end up treating them like the same thing. like god i can entirely understand and support making someone’s life hell if they’re outed as being really abusive but why can’t people just sit back and think for a moment about whether or not you’re actually doing a good thing when you send death threats to a person for mistakenly saying something that could possibly be seen as homophobic in a certain light. you’re only hurting progress if you think that’s justifiable behavior

i think the reason i get so irritated with tumblr now  is because everyone’s always so angry and everything has to be a debate and i’m just? too old? like go play in your salt mines children and leave grandma alone
