Thank you! I think Louis and Harry sharing clothes is definitely a great indication of closeness and intimacy. As my mom so humorously put it, “It’s like they share a closet!”
I want to start off by stating that early on they all shared clothes, but as time went on it became more and more of a Louis + Harry thing.
There are so many instances of clothes sharing that I think it would be impossible for me to list them all, but here are some. They shared shirts and sweaters.
Louis even wore one of Harry’s shirts to Eleanor’s graduation (which was a semi-formal event).
Harry wore this jacket a lot in 2011.
And he let Louis wear it at Leeds Festival when he was cold.
Louis also wore the same sweater Harry was wearing.
Louis and Harry wore matching shirts (in different colors) for Louis’ 21st birthday party in 2012.
Then, in 2014, Louis chose to wear the shirt Harry had worn to Jay’s wedding.
During the filming of the Midnight Memories music video, Harry wore a big coat.
But he gave it to Louis when Louis was cold. Harry would rather be cold than let Louis be cold.
Possibly one of the most disgusting things Louis ever did was wear Harry’s dirty shirt right off his back in November 2014. (This also happened to be on his anniversary with El.)
Lastly, there is the boyfriend jacket. It started out as Harry’s.
Then Louis started wearing it.
He even wore it in the Midnight Memories video.
Years passed, and then on January 1, 2017, Louis decided to wear it again and take a selfie to show off the fact that he was wearing it.
The jacket then disappeared again until the anniversary of Midnight Memories, in November 2018.
A note about the boyfriend jacket: People claim it is not the same jacket cause Louis’ has a rip in the shoulder. Either the rip occurred after Harry gave it to him, or the rip was hidden by the angle of Harry’s arm in the original pictures of Harry. If you look at the stitching and the straps around the wrists, it is quite obvious that it is the exact same jacket.
My opinion is that you’d expect members of a boyband to share clothes, and as stated before, they all did, especially in the early days. Louis and Harry, however, shared clothes throughout their entire time in One Direction. They shared clothes more than all the other boys combined, and often Louis seemed sentimental about these shared clothes. I think this was one way of feeling closer to each other amidst the chaos and separation due to closeting. I’d definitely classify this as proof of an intimate relationship. We can also use this as proof that they did not have a falling out/become enemies in early 2012. Add it to the pile.
