Julian nodded and offered Parker a smile. “They said it depended on how after the surgery went and how the incision would close and heal so they could get a cast on to protect everything.”

“Makes sense.” Parker agrees, nodding slowly. “I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a speedy recovery then. Being at home is way more comfortable than being here.” 

“You’re funny if you think I’m gonna just sit around and wait for some miracle to pan out on your behalf. Have you visited a certain somebody in the hospital yet?” she asked as they finally placed their orders and took a seat at an empty table. Parker was a soul filled with love and she only hoped that they would get that in return once more as they once had. “I do get to live at the house for free and for that I thank you for having mercy on my bank account. Plus, I make the house more livelier when you’re grading, but that’s a conversation for another day.” 

"If by somebody you mean Julian, of course I have. We’re still friends, Corrina.” Parker says, giving their sister a look. “I don’t know what you’re trying to insinuate.” Shrugging their shoulder,s they reach up to push some dyed hair out of their face, looking back at her. “You’re welcome to stay at the house as long as you need. Mama would’ve wanted that.” 

          “Do I know them? I’m obviously gonna need a lot more details from you,”  Aubrey teased, definitely more than all ears as she was happy to just be able to catch up with them.  “Being a hopeless romantic is definitely something new I can relate to. I think Danny totally brings out that side of me. You’ll be one of the first to get notified.” 

“I was thinking, maybe we could go watch a movie then grab dinner?” Emily asked, wondering if they would like her idea. It had been a while since the last time she did anything like that, and what was better than having some fun time with family? “I really need to get out of the house more.” 

“It was okay… my body just hurts and Keisha was a fucking bridezella. I need like another month to recover so no marrying anybody, kay?” Corrina swore her friend had adopted a new identity the morning of the wedding because the girl had been cool as a cucumber with all the events and details leading up to the day. It was like the bride rolled out of bed and was a completely different person. “I have to pay next time? Don’t you know I am a broke college grad just struggling to make it day by day? But fine, because I love you I will,” she laughed as she headed towards the cafe door. As they waited in line to order she looked back over at her brother. “So, what did we do to occupy ourselves while I was gone?” 

"Considering I’m pretty single at the moment, I think you’re safe. I doubt that I’m getting married anytime soon.” Parker points out, laughing softly. “And I’m a broke teacher! Well, teacher and drag queen, but still.” They tease back, shaking their head at their sister. “Hey, it’s only fair. At least you get to live at the house rent free, right?”

Julian nodded and looked over, smiling. “Thanks.” He said. “Much better now.” He said and nodded. “I’m sure. You just being here is enough.” He was grateful that Parker was there. It had made waking up just a little bit easier.

"Okay. If you need anything else though, let me know.” Parker says gently, giving Julian a smile. “How long are you going to have to stay here? Did they say?”

          “Have you been going out on any dates recently?”  she interrogated them.  “I definitely don’t miss being single.”  If there was one thing Aubrey knew for sure, it was that she was the absolute worst at dating. Any type of dating. Particularly when it came to making useless small talk with absolute strangers.  “I’m half expecting myself to soon be throwing awesome dinner parties a la Betty Draper.”

Corrina had just returned to town from a crazy wedding week with one of her college roommates from South Carolina. From the moment she landed back in the home she waved a quick hello to her siblings before locking herself in her room passing out completely. It was the next morning that she was starving and texted her brother to see if they were free to grab a bite with her. “Oh my gosh,” she sighed coming to embrace Parker outside as she approached them. “Everything hurts right now and I’m ready to stuff my face. You’re paying right? Because we both know I’m your favorite person in the world, so I feel like this should be a free meal.”  @parkercullen

Parker was always happy to spend time with their sisters. Since moving back to Crownsville, they had definitely gotten closer to the both of them. Corrina was the baby of the family and Parker had always looked out for her. DO when she had invited them out for lunch, they happily agreed. Hugging her back, they laugh softly, rolling their eyes. “Fine, but you’re paying next time. How was your trip?” 

Julian looked over at Parker and smiled softly, wincing slightly as he tried to sit up. “Well, I appreciate it, really. I’m glad I didn’t wake up alone.” He said and thought for a minute. “Just some help sitting up?” He asked the other. “Well, in that case, you might end up here all day but that wouldn’t be fair to you.”

"I don’t mind staying.” Parker insists, getting up to help Julian sit up better, fiddling with the buttons on his bed. “How’s that?” They ask, giving him a small smile. “You sure you don’t need anything else?” 

          “Oh, my gosh. I know, right?”  A soft giggle escaped the brunette’s lips at the mention of her boyfriend, briefly licking the icing off her finger before she couldn’t help but find herself smiling back at them.  “He’s been keeping me a little busy. Try having a famous boyfriend and running your own art studio,”  she laughed.  “I think I’m finally living the life of an adult now.”
