Nick writhed on his bed in the hotel room, his new tail lashing back and forth. When had he picked up the donkeyflu, he wondered? Maybe it was from that guy on the plane … or had his friends arranged for one of those donkeyboys at the bar to sneeze on him and spread the transformation?

There was a knock on the hotel room door. His tail dangling between his cheeks, Nick crept to the door and peeked out. It was that man he’d seen earlier – the one who grabbed at his tail as it was growing in public! Nick cracked open the door, his tall ears flattened against his head in fear.

“Hello, little beast,” the man smiled. “You’d better open the door all the way. It’s going to be hard to work a doorknob once your hands are hooves.”
