I love personalization. I love stickers on water bottles and on laptops. I love shitty marker drawing on the toes of converse. I love hand embroidered doodles on jeans. I love posters on walls. I love knick knacks on shelves. I love jewelry with goofy charms. I love when people take things and make them theirs.

That could lower the reselling value, especially with laptops.

Why would that be a joke? A pristine laptop fetches a higher price than one with whatever stickers on the lid.

Not everyone looks at their possessions and thinks of the resale value or even intend to ever sell things. In fact, I’d hazard a guess that most people don’t care about resale value.

Maybe not, but that all depends on what device we're talking about (with e.g. laptops, other high-end electronics, cars, etc., are more likely to want to resell it).
