If demons are real, does that mean magic is real? Is the luck of the Irish a real thing? If so, does that mean it’s a contributing factor to Kel’s survival?
"Luck of the Irish" Is more of a USA american made up thing. I wouldn't want to include that in my fic. As for magic though, it is very much real in VotV, and especially CotV. Goetia (and thaumaturgy) are what I imagine exists within the world of VotV. Furfur is very involved with Dr.Kel in CotV, and I do have plans for his future involvement in the story. You can already exchange a small tithe for a plushie from Furfur in VotV. I imagine eventually there will be more specific rituals you can do with Furfur later on, or even other demons. Hmm. Does that mean the monique plush is a very french demon? Much to think about.
As for Kel, his survival isn't just luck. Dr.Kel is built like a cockroach. He keeps coming back, no matter how his circumstances try to crush him. This is what makes him special. It's what makes him the most effective canary they've had for the project for a while.
Why do horror game protagonists always buy the worst flashlights? A flashlight that can kill a Dracula is like 20 bucks. Why are you grabbing grandma's old flashlight with a dying bulb from 1992 and going into the woods at night?
i've seen exactly one game actually have an explanation, that being INFRA, where iirc everyone acknowledges the flashlight is shit, and the company the protag works for ordered new ones but they didn't arrive yet at the time the game starts out
Adding "not buying shit my boss should have got me months ago" to the lists of valid reasons to go into a wicked forest with a shitty flash light.

i am a fan of stories where a girl just wants to be a normal girl and exist in society like everyone else but she is secretly a non-human monstercreature and she has to be really careful to keep the secret and she is super scared because if she ever gets found out it's all over for her but maybe one day she meets someone who finds out the truth about her but doesn't care and still loves her and loves every part of her including the parts she has to hide and she is able to feel happy and truly loved and maybe she is one day able to be accepted by society for who she is and go out and do things like everyone else. and i am sure none of that has anything to do with me being transgender and otherkin
