My current fic Into Fire, Into Ice will not have a posting schedule. This is so I don't burn out and because my graduate program is actual hell. With that in mind, I am making this pinned post so anyone who's interested can check for progress updates.
I prefer to be at least a chapter ahead at all times, so once you see two chapters fully written, that usually means editing should be taking place soon and a new chapter will be up shortly.

I love how when Adam first meets Gansey he's like, "I hate that guy because teachers love him and students love him and everyone loves him and also his friend is hot and I hate both of them."
Also cue me realizing just how much gay subtext I missed on the first read.
I am curious to hear headcanons on what Ronan's religious beliefs look like post-Greywaren.

Presumably, Ronan now understands that reincarnation is a thing. I expect he'd continue attending church, as the churchgoing functions equally as a Lynch family tradition as much as it is about true belief. But does he still believe in heaven? Does he still believe that heaven is a place he can reach?
I suppose this depends on whether Ronan and Greywaren are separate souls in one body. Would it be possible for Greywaren to reincarnate on the ley line and for Ronan to move on to the afterlife? Or are they inexplicably bound?
Big unexplained questions like these are one of the reasons I struggled with the Greywaren reveal. Take the passage in Mister Impossible, for example, where Ronan frets about sharing Adam in heaven and wonders if Adam will make it to heaven at all. What if the opposite is true? What if Adam moves on to the afterlife and Ronan returns to the ley line to be dreamed into a new body? I'm usually not one to devote much mental energy to the afterlife (due to my own agnostic tendencies), but I'd like to imagine some universe in which Ronan and Adam can stay together.
Anyway. Let me know if you think Ronan stays Catholic after learning his origin story and/or how he integrates his new and old beliefs about the world.

Iâm rereading Ninth House in preparation for Dead Beat and like, you donât understand how gut wrenchingly nostalgic this specific paragraph is for me.
Every time Ty enters a room people are falling all over each other to talk to him and Ty doesn't even notice meanwhile Kit is slowly losing his sanity/will to live.
(I'm thinking back to COFA when Simon and Jace go grocery shopping and two random girls were losing their mind over Jace. And Simon was like, "is this your life always??")

So, I'm not going to make any arguments about the morality of necromancy because I don't have strong feelings about it either way. I'm willing to wait and see what in-universe justifications are made in TWP before making up my mind. (Remember when we were told repeatedly that parabatais falling in love was BAD, BAD, BAD, only to learn that, oops, it was just a big misunderstanding?)
I do think there's something to be said about shortcutting necromancy when you don't have the powers of heaven or hell behind you (as Clary did with Raziel and Lucie did having inherited powers from Belial). Ty and Malcolm both had access to the same lil dark magic textbook. If all Malcolm had to do was gather a couple of ingredients and a catalyst, don't you think he would have done it a lot sooner? This makes me believe that Malcolm knew something about the nature of dark magic that Ty did not. Instead, Malcolm spent years of effort establishing his weird little death cult so he could build his hand chandelier. He worked so hard on that death cult, bless him.
In TDA, Kit's underlying motivations seemed pretty clear to me. He'd had a neglectful upbringing and was psychologically poised to latch on to Ty and Livvy in an unhealthy way (which then turned into just Ty). Ty ostensibly rejected him when he was at his most vulnerable and honest. Kit felt used and disposable. Then, when he had a chance to explain to Ty what was really going on, he couldn't, because Kit didn't understand himself what he was feeling.
This all felt very clear to me at the time, but some of the material released in the interim between TDA and TWP has muddied the waters imo. Saying he's mad at Ty for forcing Kit to lie to his new family. Saying Ty changed himself (whatever the hell that means). Lots of talk about "forgiveness" and not being ready to forgive. Forgiveness for what? I don't think Kit actually knows, and my sense is that he's inventing reasons so he doesn't have to go back and examine the actual reasons why he felt hurt in the first place.
What's interesting to me is that Ty and Livvy (on Ty's behalf) have both made overtures to Kit in the interim, and it's really just Kit now who has been unwilling to reconsider. So the original reason for his hurt (feeling like Ty didn't care about him) now has evidence to the contrary. My hunch is that Kit associates this time in his life with a great deal of pain, and he also associates this time in his life with Ty. And somehow in his mental space the two have morphed together into Ty = anguish. Regardless of whether that actually makes sense in the present day context.
