As part of my year 3 dissertation project I am collecting data about the views of the general population towards a potential newborn screening programme for spinal muscular atrophy given a new NHS treatment has become available. Spinal muscular atrophy is a rare genetic condition that causes muscles to waste away which in infant and child cases can lead to death.
