I just feel really really bad for carole ann ford now

I'm so excited to finally be posting my first Obi-Wan fic of the year! Took a while, but we're here now ;)

This is a Kenobi series AU with some more whump and an Ahsoka and Obi-Wan reunion, because I'm me and can't help having my faves hang out.

Here's a snippet:

Slowly, Obi-Wan lifts up his uninjured hand towards his face, until his fingers meet the cool, hard surface of a breathing mask. “You inhaled quite a lot of smoke.” Smoke? Obi-Wan shakes his head. “Where…” “We’re going to get her back, Obi-Wan. You just need to rest, alright? It’s going to be alright.” He doesn’t understand. It doesn’t make sense. None of this makes sense. “Where…” He tries again, forcing the words out. “Where…Anakin?” Silence. Then, a cold hand presses itself onto his forehead. Obi-Wan sinks back a bit into the cot, eyes fluttering. He wants to protest, to ask again about Anakin. Surely Anakin must be nearby if he’s hurt like this. Usually he is. Obi-Wan is certain he can sense him, anyways, but it’s so murky in the Force that he can’t pinpoint it. “I’m not sure,” the woman admits.
