And I'm sorry but when you place it in the context of a storyline where this woman is blackmailing her because she cheated on her husband and got pregnant with another man's baby that she then passed off as her granddaughter's baby she was acting as a surrogate for, it just takes away the real world value that they apparently want this storyline to have in terms of f/f assault. Because who's going to be sat at home relating to being in this situation? No one has ever been in this situation in their life.

If anything it would have made more sense or been more relatable for it to have happened to Vanessa (not that I would want that either) but for her to grapple with blaming herself for not listening to other people raising the red flags, for Charity to deal with the guilt of not telling her the truth and getting her away from her.. it would have made more sense to be setting up for that considering the continuous emphasis on her not wanting Vanessa to get hurt.
