ik I already said this in the tags but I just read some reviews and like... this is just a perfect example of when fandoms are echo chambers with everyone spouting the same opinion around until you start to believe it’s a universally agreed fact when actually it doesn’t reflect the real world at all. the mcu/tony/rdj stans have spent so long going on about how amazing rdj is and how he should win the oscar, to the extent that if you stepped into that bubble, you could believe he’s a universally beloved iconic actor that has the star power to carry movies on his own - and the people who are truly immersed in it take it as truth and are inspired to make even more posts about how amazing he is, which all contributes to the echo chamber effect. but really, when you go outside that bubble, the majority of the public don’t care that much and might maybe be fond of rdj or like him for being tony stark but he’s certainly not the iconic legendary movie star that fandom treats him as.
