Eurypterids in a Pond. Was in a painting mood last night and earlier today so I came up with this nerdiness. Hard to tell what they are, but I liked mixing all the colors.

My first adventure in needle felting! The first is a Leptictidium which appears in BBC's Walking with Prehistoric Beasts and the second is a Koreaceratops because...well I thought it looked cool. :)

I found a great chunk of fossil coral in my back yard here in Las Vegas! Since my neighborhood sits on an alluvial fan I'm sure it didn't come from my yard, but it's cool anyways! The elderly woman that lived in the house before us used all sorts of rocks (mostly boring) to landscape the yard. I found this one when I was pulling weeds

Made this for my friend Emmi! It is an unusual shrimp larva that just recently was linked to its adult counterpart. She was on an expedition that actually scooped one of these guys up in their nets! This is not an extinct creature like my usual plush creations, but it is an awesome sea creature!! And sea creatures make me happy.

Made another squishy version of a cool prehistoric shark! Stethacanthus. Couldn't exactly make it have prickles with basic fleece as my material, but it works.

This should be a great event so anyone in the area should check it out!

Made myself a nerdy infinity scarf. I made some stencils and hand painted each individual fossil onto the fabric. There are two different versions of gastropods, 2 different kinds of brachiopods and an archimedes bryozoan :D A bit of a stretch to find them all in one fossil bed, but it was just one of those ideas I got in my head that wouldn't go away until I made it.

A feathery Velociraptor plush request I made. Had difficulty figuring out the feathers, but it turned out ok. This plush is a bit bigger than my usual plush and you can see (thanks to my super awesome photography skills) that there are 5 empty spools of thread holding up its tail. Another scary turned to cuddly :D

A Pachycephalosaurus plush request. I'm happy with how it turned out! Its domey head took a lot more math and time then I had originally anticipated. Oooh geometry. 

Amargasaurus! My sewing room is 'decorated' with a bunch of nerdy paleontology type posters; one of them being a National Geographic pull out poster from a while ago. It features my favorite Sauropod...Amargasaurus. I think the image has been seeping into my subconscious and I finally decided it needed to be created in plush form. I love its spines and creepy teeth. I put wire in its legs so it can actually stand on its own without any issues. It ended up being just over 2 feet long from nose to tip of tail.
