So I’m watching Blue Lock with my brother, who is up to date with the series and the manga and he kept trash-talking about Naruhaya in episode 15, who is his least favourite character primarily because he keeps annoying and stealing from Gagamaru (one of his favourite characters). At first, I didn’t care because admittedly, I did find some of Naruhaya’s actions mildly irritating. He said that Naruhaya is the worst character in Blue Lock and is somehow worse than Buratsuta.
Then he asked who I hated in Blue Lock. Though it is my first time watching this series and have never read the manga, I did know a relatively decent amount of information among the characters. So I admit that my least favourite is Kaiser’s sperm donor — I do not think I have to explain why. But then this guy protested, saying that Naruhaya is also worse than the man I hate. I was like… “wtf how?? Naruhaya is just an annoying teenage boy while [redacted] psychologically ruined Kaiser (don’t get me wrong, I know his mom is also responsible, but that male progenitor literally fucked up Kaiser’s life, even after his arrest. They are both in the wrong nevertheless)”.
And then this gUY IS ACTUALLY, GENUINELY, SERIOUSLY DEFENDING THE CHILD ABUSER. Like bro??? You know better, or at least I thought you did. And of course, he used my ignorance on the franchise as his primary defence. He said — and I quote — “You haven’t read the manga, so you’re using baseless accusations to defend this bitch ass. You’ll understand that Kaiser’s dad is actually better. He WAS actually a good person.
EMPHASIS ON “WAS”. His past does not justify his sins towards an innocent boy (at that time). I’m sure he used to be good and some of the stuff he did was more on pure rage than intentional, but it doesn’t change the fact that he ruined his own child’s life and perspective on the world. You’re telling me THAT FUCKASS is better than Naruhaya?? Are we talking about the same people here??
Anyways, I’m done ranting. Teenage boys smh.
I’m not the type to vent online, but I really needed to pop a blood vessel with someone, even if these “someone” are strangers on the internet. Other than my brother, my best friend is the only one who watched the show and she didn’t finish episode 1, so I’d feel bad if I bellow on something they don’t even know existed. The worst part is that I lost the argument, primarily due to (again,) my ignorance on the plot and my stutters, so it felt like my defence wasn’t enough, therefore weak.
Now, I know the Internet can be unhinged, but anyone with over 2 brain cells can agree with me, right? Right??
