Location: Daisy's Book Store, Canterlot, Equestria

Wow! I've been very busy lately! I apologize for not writing on you sooner.

I've had a crammed schedule consisting of mostly my book tour with my agent.

I'm in a very lovely book store at this moment, holding a book signing event. I have to say, the turnout from the students in the nearby schools has been massive. I never thought my magic would go through such a trial of all those autographs. Luckily, I have a moment to step away and take a lunch break.

The food I'm eating is good. It's giving me a newfound energy to finish this day. It even gave me the energy to write in my diary.

My book has sold up to 100,000 copies since it's release. My agent has informed me of its continual climb in sales. I'm glad so many ponies enjoy my stories.

I saw a familiar face as I was signing books too! It was that lovely young purple mare. Twilight Sparkle is her name, what a lovely mare. She was trying to hold herself together when she approached me with her copy. We had some small talk and soon enough the conversation led to the day I met her on that train when I was going to interview my son's brother. Let's say she was lost for words that I'd remember her. She was hasty to invite me to meet her and her teacher for dinner. I might take her up on that offer. I asked her to share pleads with my agent who was standing near me. He seemed displeased that I was planning something new that was not on the schedule, but he reluctantly agreed to the add-on. I'm looking forward to dinner.

I can't get my mind off of my son though. So many mysteries I want to learn about him. I feel like I'm closer to him the more I hear.

I have a photo of my son that Mrs. Skyes generously gave me to take on my trips. It's been a comforting thing to have.

I wonder how Mrs. Skyes is doing, I need to remind myself to write a letter to her after my events today.

Location: Home

I have been obsessed with the results of my research on my little sunshine (well, not very little anymore, but that doesn't matter nonetheless). I think I'll need to take some time to clean up my home, because it's a mess.

I feel like my agent is very concerned with me due to the sudden obsession on my long lost son. He's even recommended me to "lay off" of him for a bit to avoid rousing suspicion. It's very hard to resist!

On other news, my new book is being published today. It's rather exciting! A story that focuses on romance, mystery, and a bit of action sprinkled in.

The new book is called "Mysterious Dreams"

My agent has already scheduled most of my three months, which means I'll be busy again, touring Equestria and other nations to do book signings, and even get involved on some interviews!

I'm looking forward to seeing what my months have ahead of me!

I apologize that this is short. A lot of things happening. Very busy.

Location: Back at home

 So as promised, here’s part of the interview I gave to Mr. Ember Skyes.

 Me: What is your name and profession?

 Ember: Well...any newspaper can tell ya that miss Page...buuuuut since it's on record...

 Ember Skyes, my Friends call me  Charcoal, on the team I'm better known as: 'Bombshell Skyes'.  I'm in a word, Lead coordinator for the Pegasus Sky Fighting competitions that happen all across Equestria!!

 (I’ve heard of that sport before. A fairly new sport that has quickly been gaining notoriety)

 Me: What drove you to choose that profession?

 Ember: Hm...well...BESIDES being super popular and being a cool athlete...flying runs in my family!! My mom was a famous uh...what she call it? ...fearless flying? And my brother does stunt shows too...I almost did as well but...I learned I was a natural flank kicker long as my hooves weren't touching the ground...so I began thinking up this like...way to coordinate that with flying...after a while I made a sport outta it.

 Me: What is Flash Wind's relation to you?

 Ember: He's my brother!! Or uh...well adopted brother I guess is the right term. We met when I was kinda young, I helped em out with some country guys who were giving him a hard time then let him stay with me and my mom and dad, and he became a member of the family after that!!

 (Well then, more context to what Mrs. Skyes had shared with me)

 Me: Any fun memories you have with your brother?

 Ember: OH a bunch actually!! Me and Flash did all sorts of stuff together, more often tho it peeved off mom cause the trouble was my fault heh

  Their was this one time I taught him one of my moves, the Free-fall Corkscrew, and he was just so eager to learn it!! One day while I was training him he accidently bumped me and threw off my concentration and I broke some farmers barn...mom uh...she wasn't too happy bout that... probably cause she had to pay the damages...

 But it was a blast!!

 (Hehe! Sounds like something teenage colts would do)

 Me: Did you help train Flash in his flying, and any signature moves you invented that Flash Wind uses?

 Ember: Oh yeh DEFINITELY!! He's a great flyer on his own but he has a tendency to bank too hard and his weaving is a little shaky, he always taps training poles, I taught em a few tips and tricks to help em out.

As for signatures...well...I came up with this move right? You fly super super high in the air, so high breathing gets a bit hard, then...you just PLUMMET to the ground, put the audience on edge. Then, just as you near the ground, you put a spin and launch with the momentum, puts a lotta speed on ya...I add a spin to it...I call it...the Corkscrew nosedive!! Fillies always go nuts over it, took Flash some time to get it but he got a handle on it real well...like he's made for that sort of stuff!!

 (That must be what Flash did for the closing act in his air show I watched. Very daring!)

 Me: Any sort of trouble you and your brother gotten into in your time of youth?

 Ember: Uh...well me and Flash have gotten into a lotta things...mostly my fault since uh ..mom says I'm the Daring one between the both of us...but uh their um...was one moment

 We visited some place a bit outta the ways of town and we ran into a winged lion den, the alpha attacked us... specifically me and Flash took the hit for me...ahem...nothing I couldn't handle though...it was strong but I was fast, a few well placed jabs sent the little kitty cat flying but uh...Flash nose dived into the ocean and um...I...couldn't save em...

 (He must be referring to that winged lion that Mrs. Skyes mentioned to me. I assume Flash was rescued if he’s still alive. I wonder who saved him. I’m also noticing a bit of discomfort in Mr. Skyes expression. Maybe I should avoid asking further questions about that)

 Me: What do you think is an interesting fact about Flash?

 Ember: ...an... interesting fact? Hmm...

 ... interesting...fact...OH I got one!!

 He's probably the bravest pegasus I've ever met!! I mean I'm no coward when it comes to facing something dangerous but...hey even I've got my limits...but Flash? He goes above and beyond for just about anypony who asks!! And don't get me started on some of the moves he's done during his shows.

 (Wow! He keeps on reminding me of his father so much! This is exciting!)

 After a while longer, I was able to gather all I needed. He was very curious as to why I had such an interest in Flash.

 I wish I could tell him, but I don’t want to accept the risk of my Napfény finding out. I had to stay silent.

 As for now, I must end here.

 I made it home, and I have many things to write.

Diary Entry #35

 Date: 04/21/2011

 I’m… … still trying to be cognizant of what I had experienced while visiting Mr. Ember Skyes.

 I can’t believe I would see him face to face.

I could hardly speak when my eyes lay on him.

 Sorry, let me get into context as to what I am speaking of.

 So I made it to Ponyville late the evening before I was going to “interview” Mrs. Skyes son. It wasn’t late enough to turn in for the night, so I explored around Ponyville for a while. I never took much time to visit this quiet town. It’s very peaceful, and lively at the same time. I never knew a town this size would have so much going on. I explored for a while, ate some good food, met a few fans of my books, and bought a lovely new quill for me to use on my writing. Soon enough, I rented a room to rest for the night.

 Come next day, I follow with my common morning routine and make haste towards Mr. Skyes home.

 Upon knocking. I never expected who was going to answer the door.

 There he was… …

 My Napfény(Sunshine).

 Questionably looking at me.

I could hardly utter out a word.

 I could only say “Oh My” in my native tongue. In which my son was quick to catch the language leaving my muzzle. He casually talked to me, asking what he could help me with. Next thing I know, I’m invited in to meet Ember as my son then left for his job.

 Right now, I’ll have to stop my diary entry from here. I’ll share the interview experience after I go through my notes.

“First Encounter”

Page, while heading over to interview Ember Skies, accidently is met with Flash Wind (Her Son). After an awkward moment, she finally gets a chance to meet Ember. 

This is one of the few moments that she got to speak to her son in person. Many thoughts rushing through her head.

Date: 04/18/2011

So I’m going to make this entry short. I need to make time to figure out some questions that I’m going to ask Ember Skies.

So the meetings went well with a new publishing company. They were very pleased with my writing and stories. My new book will be published through them for a profit that they keep 20%. I’m very happy I have my agent to help me with these things. He’s always taken care of me when it came to the business side of things. It helps me focus on my writing.

I had to explain to him about what’s been happening with my journey. He seemed... confused?

He did have many questions as to why I was doing this. But thankfully, he understood.

This train ride seems, very quiet today. Not much ponies on this trip. I guess it’s for the best on helping me focus.

There was this lovely mare who recognized me. Found out she’s a big fan of my novel series. I gladly signed her book and had a small conversation with her. I think she goes by the name... Twilight Sparkle? A very pretty name nonetheless. She said she attends a school at Canterlot. How exciting is that!?

Anyways, this concludes my entry, I need to focus.

Date: 04/15/2011

 I told her…

 I can’t believe it…

 I TOLD HER!

 She didn’t take the news to well right away. I could clearly see that she was about to harp on me after hearing what I said. I didn’t care. I felt free that I finally told someone, after holding onto it for so long. My chest never felt so light in my life.

 I went onto further explaining (while in tears and being a sobbing mess) about what had happened upon Flash’s conception and onto his disappearance, to the assumed death of my napfény (Sunshine). It seemed like an impossible thing to believe at first but, it happened in my life.

 She reassured me and comforted me after all my emotions were let out. She’s so nice. I’m glad my son was adopted by this kind mare.

 We exchanged our mailing information so we could keep in touch. Then I soon left (Thanking her for her hospitality), ready for my next part of my journey. At least that is what I thought was what my next task was going to be.

 A random mist few up to me and suddenly a message on parchment appeared in front of me. It’s my Agent who sent the message. He was asking where I had vanished off to. The message was stating that I had missed a hoof full of my meetings with publishing companies for my books. Guess I was so attached to my search on my son that I forgot that I’m partially famous for my stories. He mentioned about another meeting coming up soon and told me of the location. I need to meet up at Las Pegasus for the meeting. Seems like not too far of a journey. So now I’m sitting in the train headed to Las Pegasus, with my ideal destination to go to after my meeting.

 I’m coming Ponyville. After I finish with other matters that is.

 So… My journey on learning more about my Napfény continues. I’ve been on a deep search for any that know of him. Whether it be friends, or maybe family members that adopted him. To my surprise, I managed to discover that he was adopted by a mare named Soaring Skies. She lives in a small town called Irwind, just a little south from the common towns in Equestria.

 I decided to take a trip there. A reliable source helped with the address to her place too.

Upon arrival, I was able to visit her. Luckily she was home for me to ask my questions.

Here’s some of the interview.

 Me: "I think I'll go into the first question to at least start the subject. As I just heard you mention. You said you are his mother?"

 Soaring: "Yes...well...not entirely...My actual Son, Ember found him throught the town as he was causing a ruckus as he normally does...can never stay out of trouble that boy, but he found Flash Wind wandering and decided to invite him to our home. Well...he stayed with us for so long that I eventually decided that maybe I could adopt him as my own, by what he told me he never really knew his family...the poor boy..."

 Me: "So next question. What was his lifestyle here? Was he more outgoing? Open? Friendly? Or was he something different in his younger years here?"

 Soaring: "Well...a bit of both...he was a very quiet Colt when he was brought to our family, spent a great deal of time staying away from myself and my husband, though he spent great deals of time with my son, they hit it off pretty quickly....though...he still doesn't really speak to my husband...not that...he speaks a lot as is"

 Me: "I heard from a source that your son was the one who taught Flash to fly. Could you maybe describe his dream or career path? Maybe your past career as well?"

 Soaring: "Well...Ember is still finding himself, he's always spending large amounts of his time off the ground if it's at all possible...and as for my occupation… are you familiar with the 'Marlem Cloud Trotters'?" 

 (At that point I mentioned about hearing of them during my stay in Equestria. She mentioned to me about how they did a lot of daring maneuvers and stunts for their shows. She seemed like she enjoyed it up until she had to retire from a major wing injury. At that point I was filled with excitement on knowing more about my son)

 Me: "Now that you mentioned your past career. Do you think Flash got inspired by you to do his air shows?"

 Soaring: "Well...if you'd like my honest opinion...I don't know...Flash was always a but of a distant child, even when he opened up to me and my family, however he did take large interests in my old career when he found out...I'm more surprised my own little Ember didn't ask about it sooner honestly. He's a good kid...and I'm glad to have had him in my life for as long as I did ma'am"

It seemed like her past influence most likely sparked that love of flying that my son now has. Afterward, I asked a few more questions. I even asked her about his scar that he has on his left side. That story was hard for Mrs. Skies to explain to me, even harder for me to hear.

 My Napfény sure is an interesting one. So many stories about him that I missed out in.

I’m now staying the night at her place, since it had become very late. She provided the room that Flash had. It’s amazing to see all these memories of my son in this room. So many stories to be told.

 It’s made me ponder for a bit though… Should I… … tell Mrs. Skies the truth?

 Should I reveal to her about Flash being my son?

 I’ve had this heavy weight on me for years now. Even more about having a child in the first place. I wonder how my Beloved would respond to this if he were in this situation. I wish he was still here.

 …

 I’ll reveal the truth tomorrow…

 She deserves to know it.

Diary Entry #31

Date 9/03/2010

Sorry I haven’t written an entry in a long while. Throughout that time, I was able to learn about my Napfény (Sunshine). He’s an air flyer who loves to perform stunts for ponies to see. On his off time, he tends to work odd jobs, as well as offer his time in the military to help with things here and there.

It’s so exciting that my son has grown to be such a great stallion.

After watching my sons show, I overheard of a mare nearby speaking about how Flashs friend not being there to see him. After I was done talking to her, I was able to gain the information to his friends home.

I was thinking while I was on my way to his friends place, I was thinking on a reasoning as to why I would be visiting. Then it dawned on me, I could write an Auto Biography. As I approached the door, and knocked, the questions folled my head.

After some time, and a very questionable glare at my interest towards her friend, I had gained the answers I asked for.

Here’s part of the interview.

Me: What’s your name and Occupation?

Aerial: Name’s Aerial Aim, I’m an Air Mare first class in the Hoofarian Pega Force.

(Quite amazing! Just like my father and mother)

Me: Very interesting. Nice to know that you serve proudly. So, how did you know Flash Wind and what’s his relation to you?

Aerial: We’re both Hoofarian, friends. Not a lot of ponies from where we are, nice to have somepony coming from a similar place.

(Oh! So my son at least learned where he came from)

Me: Oh! Very rare to see ponies from there. So how did you meet?

Aerial: I was practicing my flight techniques, he was just flying, and in classic fashion, we crashed into one another.

Me: -Laughs-  That sounds quite funny. What was one of Flashs setbacks that he overcame?

Aerial: Well he used to be so reckless at times, but he always had a determination and fought through his setbacks when it came to his flying.

(So determined. Just like his father)

Me: Wow, very nice! So a fun question. Any funny quirks/habits that he does?

Aerial: He mumbles to himself in Hoofarian. It’s sad the Equestrians can’t understand it, it’s hilarious.

(HAHAHA! I DO THE SAME THING! Just like his mother!)

Me: Well then! -laughs- What’s his greatest strength?

Aerial: Like I stated earlier, he keeps trying, even though things get tough. You don’t see many ponies act on that these days.

Me: Interesting. So what was his weakness?

Aerial: -Glares- Wouldn’t you like to know...

After that I kind of felt like I was a question away from getting kicked out. I was able to get that answer and some others. After that, I was partially tempted to show my excitement for my boy. Though I was able to excuse myself, I fear I might have given away my secret to her. I hope she didn’t noticed.

Now starts my quest, to learn about my son.
