Guys, she's getting seizures more and more frequently. I got her back to the vet, but all these stupid ER Vets don't have a neurologist in until Monday! The vet here is recommending me to go to another ER vet with an MRI, but again, no one is in until Monday, and she's saying a spinal tap with the MRI is going to be 2.5k-3k and I just won't know what to do and I'm not making any money at the moment. My folks are just saying to put her down, but she's just a baby.

I have brought Thistle to the emergency vet 3x, and thank goodness they waive the exam fee ($150) if I come back within 48 hours, but the TLDR is I believe that botfly wound she had when I found her still has the botfly larvae in it, it just went in DEEP towards her brain and is causing her neurological issues since it's a match with all the symptoms she is having. They will not give her ivermectin and a steroid, which is the treatment for it, without a 1k CT SCAN FIRST.
Here's the full scope if you wanna read it. It's long:
3 nights ago, Thistle collapsed. Due to her collapsing and being unconscious, I didn't find out until yesterday that there was something neurologically wrong going on. Her left side was not responding well, her eye would twitch, and here's the thing, I told them about the botfly hole in her neck. Thistle came up to me with it scabbed over, the bad vet said it "wasn't there" due to said scab. When I brought Thistle in the first time to the ER vet, the lady pulled OFF said scab and there was a hole. She said to just put Aquaphor or 100% coconut oil on it, she slapped some medical grade honey on it, gave her some liquids, an antibiotic, and a probiotic, said she just had a fever (104) and was dehydrated, "Oh, you know kittenssss!" $300.
Well, she technically did improve yesterday, she was more cognizant, ate a lot, but she had that head tilt and left body issues, so I had to help her go to the bathroom and eat, and was still sleeping 85% of the time, so I called and asked if I should bring her back, and they said I should. Her fever was higher (104.5), so they gave her more liquids and then gave me an IV bag and told me to put a needle between her shoulders and administer an IV at home for $200 OR PAY 2.2k/NIGHT FOR THEM TO DO IT. So I was like, I guess I'm doing the IV at home. Well, the water they put in her stayed in that spot longer than 12 hours, like it felt like crinkle paper under her skin, so I just gave her a syringe of water via her mouth every 2 hours and put water in her food to make a slurry while waiting for that crinkle-thing to go away. I can safely say she is hella hydrated by me doing that.
Fast forward to today, she's even more awake, but her left eye and left front leg is twitching for about a minute at random and she has these "fits". I put the Aquaphor on per the vet's instructions and, BIG MISTAKE, because she starts tweaking, running, and have seizure-like symptoms, which confirm what my mom was thinking: It's a botfly larvae that has gone DEEP into her, probably to her brain tissue. You know what botflies in the brain do? Causing paralysis in one side of the body, nasal and eye discharge, temp blindness and disorientation, on top of her reacting poorly when her wound is covered up because it's suffocating and trying to back out. All things she's been dealing with.
You know what dewormer works on botflies? IVERMECTIN. She just needs a dose of Ivermectin and some steroids according to some research, cool. So I take her BACK and they WON'T GIVE IT TO HER WITHOUT A 1K CT SCAN TO CONFIRM THE THING IS THERE.
I am going to call in the morning and ask for a dose of it because I rather pay for it, rule it out, then do the CT scan if it fails instead of it BE that and this thing cause MORE damage to her.
Maybe you can make an Amazon Wishlist of kitty supplies? Just until all the babies are adopted??
Uhhh, maaaaybe?
My "roommates" tried to order something and it was almost $60 to ship it to my rural house, so I'm not sure if that was just for whatever the heck they were ordering or if it's like that for everything.
I made a list and I made it so people can buy things that aren't listed because I just put what I usually get them on there (and a catio I plan on getting when funds allow). This is NOT critical. They will get fed always. This is just if you wanna. Any food/litter that isn't used by the time all of the kittens are adopted will be donated to MARC, who is doing their spay/neutering, and are trying to help with the dumping/ overpopulation of abandoned animals. Please check them out!
Update: Lil Mama and all the boys will now be getting spayed/neutered on Monday! For some reason, the girl cat appointments that are available now are only at the very end of the month or beginning of next month. At least there will be no spraying and no reproducing //WHEEZE
Is Thistle the one who had the tick? There are tick-borne infections that can affect cats, and many are treatable with the right antibiotics if caught early. Mention the tick to the vet if you haven't. Maybe they can do a blood test or something.
I mentioned it and she is on Clavamox, which can treat Lyme in cats to a degree, but it is mostly for the wound on her neck from when I initially found her that the previous vet said might've been a bot fly. I will probably schedule a follow-up appointment for next week with another local vet and mention it again if she doesn't feel better by then.
She is still weak and goes right back to sleep after I give her a syringe of water or feed her, but it is an improvement.
Shoutout to VCA Animal hospitals because if I brought her into any emergency vet in Tucson, it would've been $800+ easy. It was $300, practically, the cost of a normal vet visit almost. Still an ouch though since I'm not making any money atm //weeps
I brought her home to watch her because she gets very stressed when she wakes up and doesn't see me. They said if she hasn't improved by the morning to take her to the other local vet or being her back.

Thistle collapsed suddenly. She woke up and cried out for me, so I went to her and noticed she was trying to poop, so I took her to the litterbox where she just couldn't stand up then she peed/pooped herself and passed out.
The closest emergency vet was 30 min away so my brother BOOKED it down the mountain. She is currently in the back and I am waiting. It's been like 30 min already and I feel myself getting ill with worry.
Nala and Little Lady will be adopted by my friend's son! He wanted to have siblings so they'll always have each other ;o; His mom is paying for me to fly them to Tucson, which is great because I needed to go back and get the rest of my things anyway. I will give him a voucher for their spaying with a service over there so he can have them sooner (there's a mobile clinic that does them for $35/each!). He works for a pretty fancy company, so they will be well taken care of!
I will be flying them out after the 6th since Lil Mama's spay is that day. I did not qualify for the $20 spay, but I did qualify for the $60, which is $5-$20 cheaper than everywhere else, so I can't complain, any money saved is going to the SHEER AMOUNT of litter they go through AHHH.
As for the others, a family friend is coming by today to see them and they're interested in Lil Boy or Rollie and their friend may be interested in Hugo. We shall seeeee.

The maintenance of them isn't the problem. It's like $150/month. Wet and dry food is like $60/month, litter is the biggest cost tbh since they go through it weekly so like $80/month ($20/week-ish), then odds and ends like treats, poop bags, ear mite stuff, clippers, etc.
It's these vet visits that are killing me. $206 today for Thistle, $110ish when I brought Lil Mama and the babies last week due to the wORMS, when I brought her in for throwing up, and for the initial visit, etc etc. It's been kinda crazy. And Blondie is showing signs of an ear inflection so I may go next door and be like, "HEY, your "favorite dog" has an ear infection" because the vet I went to today hurt Thistle so much that she's hiding and I do not wanna go back there, nor do I have the money to do so, especially since the people in my house haven't paid rent :^))))
What's the status on the adoption of the current kitties?
I got a family friend's friend who is interested in adopting one since they just lost a cat. Currently trying to set up a date for her friend to come by and see them!
A friend of mine's son is interested in adopting 2 of them possibly, waiting to hear back, but that is my dream because I hate the idea of them being alone ahhh.
The friends that are staying with me, yes the ones causing trouble, want to adopt Rollie and I am...not here for it. And the family friend I mentioned above wants to adopt Lil Boy for their 22 year old daughter, but they tend to leave their animals outside and like 3 have gone missing or got attacked by coyotes in a span of a year, soooo no unless the daughter promises to keep Lil Boy solely indoors or, at least, on a leash supervised when outside.
Thistle, the one that showed up, has an upper respiratory infection AND worms (all kittens and puppies are born with them, allegedly), but she is 8 weeks and only weights 1lb. She looks 5 weeks to me, that's how small she is. I have decided to keep her and adopt out the others I was originally going to keep as she needs more help and she is attached to me now. She likes sleeping on my head.

All the kitties have gotten some dewormer. The kittens got an oral one and Lil Mama got a more potent topical one. It's 100% roundworm. Cost $110, so cheaper than expected, but still an aughghgggh.
Pic of the demon worms under the read more so you can know what they look like just in case you encounter them. I sent the gross pics/video to the vet, the one below is it after I put it in a baggy. She threw up more of them just a bit ago, but they seem to be dead. Hopefully. She is living my biggest fear //weeps
