Friends, Family, and Business
After the service, the attendees began to mingle, their hushed conversations filling the air. Occasional glances flickered in Flash’s direction—the news that had just dropped was already rippling through the crowd. Flash turned to walk away from the press line, where his father and grandfather were still acting as a shield against the cameras.
"Flash! Any comment on the news of your relation to Mrs. Page?" a reporter shouted, lunging forward. Flash ignored them, keeping his eyes fixed on the ground until he spotted Aerial making her way toward him.
Concern was etched across her face, but before she could reach him, a Pegasus mare with a rainbow mane stepped into her path.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Flash. My name is Rainbow Star—Rainbow for short," the mare said, her gaze glinting with confidence. "I wanted to say how beautiful the eulogy was. It truly tugged at my heart." She paused for effect. "Your mother was a major advocate for our youth charities. I was wondering: is there a chance her son would like to participate in those same events as a guest of honor?"
Flash recoiled slightly at the directness. "I… I’m not sure at this time," he said, choosing his words cautiously. Paper Trail’s warning echoed in his head: Don’t accept anything until you have an agent.
"I will assume that’s a ‘maybe.’ Here is my card; reach out when you’ve made your choice. I look forward to seeing you again," Rainbow said, trotting away before he could object.
Flash watched her go, feeling the weight of the interaction. He turned to find Aerial already at his side.
"Hey. Are you okay?" she asked softly.
"Yeah… I’ll be fine. It’s just overwhelming. The unfamiliar faces, the press…" Flash offered a weak smile.
"I understand. Do you need anything? We can talk if you want," Aerial said, glancing back at the reporters who were finally being escorted out.
"I just need a friend," Flash muttered. "Someone who understands."
They spoke for a long while. Flash poured out everything—from the moment his mother requested him to her final breath. By the time they parted, the heavy knot in his chest had loosened slightly. The two decided to meet up another time to discuss more in less of a public space.
As Aerial left, Flash found his brother, Ember, standing before him. The silence between them felt heavier than usual.
"Flash… how long did you know?" Ember asked, his voice low.
Flash let out a long, ragged sigh. "I only found out Page was my mother a week before she passed away. For my whole life before that, I was just as clueless as you." He looked at his hooves, bracing for a complicated reaction. "I didn't mean to keep a secret, Ember. I barely had time to process it myself."
Ember’s expression softened, and a small, sad smile broke through. "A week... that's not long enough," he whispered, his eyes turning glassy. "I’m just so glad you found her in time, Flash. I'm glad you know where you came from."
"Look, Ember," Flash said, his ears pinning back earnestly. "Before you assume anything… I want you to know that even with my biological father here, you will always be my brother. Mom and Dad—the ones who raised me—will always be my parents. I was lucky to have them."
A single tear escaped Ember’s eye. "That’s great to hear, brother."
The two exchanged hugs as Ember returned to Crescent and Aerial's side, mingling with the two.
Finally, Flash’s gaze fell on an elderly mare standing frozen a few paces away. She studied him with an intensity that made him pause.
"I can’t believe it… my unoka… here in front of me," she whispered in a thick Hoofarian accent. She lunged forward, pulling him into a fierce embrace. Flash stiffened in surprise, but as the reality of who she was sank in, his wing unfurled, instinctively wrapping around his grandmother.
She pulled back after a moment, wiping her cheeks. "Your mother told us everything when she learned you were alive. Your grandfather and I were overjoyed. We loved seeing you when you were just a foal—so playful, always grinning."
"Grandfather?" Flash repeated.
She gestured toward the unicorn stallion standing near Blaze. "Yes, Arrow Strike. He has been just as eager to see you, though he’s preoccupied helping your father deal with the media."
Flash took a shaky breath. Every question he’d carried for a lifetime was being answered in the span of two weeks. It was a flood of closure, both exhausting and relieving. His eyes welled up again.
His grandmother used her magic to bring a cloth to his cheek, gently dabbing the tears away. "Page napsütése végre hazatért hozzánk," she said softly. Page’s sunshine has finally returned home to us.
For a moment, the world around them stilled. The mingling crowd and the grieving whispers faded into the background. After promising to visit his grandparents and meet the rest of the family, Flash finally began his goodbyes.
He hugged his father, his friends, and his "new" family one last time. Then, he turned toward the horizon, heading for the only place that felt like solid ground: his adoptive home at the Skyes residence.
The funeral was over. A new chapter had begun.

The Final Reveal
Flash stepped into the bustling funeral home, his father, Blaze, at his side. It seemed they were the last to arrive.
"Well, who knew a simple lunch break would last longer than we anticipated?" Blaze said with a quiet, uneasy chuckle.
Flash’s ears flattened. "It didn’t help that I got cornered by a group of young fans on a field trip," he muttered, adjusting his collar. He deeply regretted going out to eat before the service; his notoriety was a heavy cloak to wear today, and his lack of punctuality only added to the stress.
They had been at the home earlier that morning, assisting Page’s agent, Paper Trail, with the final arrangements. It was a modest service—nothing too fancy, just as Page had requested.
Flash scanned the room. It was a sea of unfamiliar faces: business ponies who were likely her publishers, and various others who had been drawn into her orbit by her fame. But in the back, the atmosphere shifted. Ponies with cameras and notepads stood poised like vultures. Paper Trail had warned them the press would be there to report on the passing of such a public figure. Despite the warning, Flash felt a knot of unease. A funeral was no place for a scoop.
Brushing the thought aside, he spotted a row of familiar faces: his brother, Ember Skyes; his foalhood friend, Crescent Shadow; and close friend, Aerial Aim. He offered them a tired smile as he headed their way. "Hey guys. Thanks for coming."
"Anything for a brother," Ember said, reaching out a supportive hoof. "We may not have known Mrs. Page well, but we spent enough time with her while she was writing that biography about you."
Flash gave a slight, knowing chuckle. After the revelations of the last two weeks, his mother’s intense interest in his life finally made sense. His friends didn't know the truth yet, but they would soon.
"Flash, are you alright?" Aerial asked softly, her eyes full of concern. "You look like you haven't slept in days."
"It’s been a rough two weeks," Flash admitted, trying to steady his voice. "But I'll be fine. Thanks for coming to translate the eulogy for me, Aerial. I didn’t know anyone else who could keep up with how fast we talk."
Aerial managed a small smile. "No problem," she whispered.
Across the room, Blaze stood apart, watching the crowd. His gaze kept drifting back to Flash, observing the way his son leaned on his friends. He thought of the "adopted brother" Flash had mentioned, and a bittersweet smile formed on his muzzle. "Beloved, look at him," he murmured to the empty air beside him, as if Page were standing right there. "He grew up to be a fine young stallion. He’s in good company."
"So, I take it you’re the father?"
The voice was calm, rugged, and carried a thick Hoofarian accent. Blaze turned to see an elderly unicorn whose features mirrored Page’s.
"Yes, sir," Blaze replied respectfully.
The old unicorn chuckled, looking toward Flash. "Page always spoke of him. Even when she thought he was lost forever, she clung to every memory. You should have seen the letters she sent my wife and me when she discovered he was still alive." He paused, his expression softening. "She spoke a lot about you, too. How she wished she had met you instead of that farmer."
The unicorn extended a hoof. "Name’s Arrow Strike. Page’s father. It’s a privilege to finally meet the stallion my daughter fell for."
Blaze took the hoof firmly. "Likewise, sir. It’s an honor to meet the father of such a strong, lovely mare."
The service began shortly after. It felt like an eternity as pony after pony took the podium to share stories of Page’s life. Flash listened intently, learning fragments of a mare he had only just begun to truly know.
Finally, it was Flash’s turn. With Aerial by his side, he began to speak in Hoofarian. He spoke of Page’s humility, her memories, and how she was a soul always happily lost in her own stories. Then, he reached the final paragraph.
Flash paused, his breath catching as he stared at the words his mother had written for this exact moment. He looked up at the sea of ponies, then back at the paper.
"Sokan közületek azért jöttek, hogy egy sok világ kancájának tisztelegjenek, de szeretnék még egy utolsó dolgot felfedni. Egy életet, amelyet csendben szenvedtem el. Egy terhet, amelyet cipeltem, miközben tovább éltem. Itt az ideje, hogy végre megszabaduljak ettől a súlytól."
(For many of you are here to honor a mare of many worlds, but I wish to reveal one last thing. A life I had suffered in silence. A burden I held while continuing to live. It is time for me to finally lay this weight to rest.)
Flash took a shaky breath.
"A póni, aki ezt olvassa, a fiam." (The pony reading this... is my son.)
The room went deathly silent. Aerial’s head snapped toward him, her eyes wide with shock. She looked at the tears welling in Flash’s eyes and, with a trembling voice, translated the words for the crowd.
The secret was out. The reporters began scribbling furiously; a camera flash flickered in the back of the room. Flash didn't look up. He focused only on the final lines.
"Egyéves korában örökre elveszett tőlem, de a sors végre visszaadta nekem. A napsütésem, a szerelmem. Nyugodtan pihenek, tudván, hogy fényesen fogsz ragyogni, fiam."
(He was lost to me at the age of one, but fate finally returned him. My sunshine, my love. I will rest easy knowing you will shine brightly, my son.)
Flash stepped down and took his seat, his chest aching. Aerial followed, silent and stunned, knowing they would have a very long talk later.
As the service ended, the press moved in like a wave. But before they could reach Flash, Blaze and Arrow Strike stepped forward, flanking him and blocking the path of the reporters.
"Don't worry, son," Blaze said firmly, placing a protective wing over Flash. "We’ll handle this. You take your time."
Flash nodded, feeling the weight of the world lift just a little. "Thank you, Dad."

"I Love You My Napfény"
Trigger Warning: Death
Night had fallen over Canterlot Hospital. Flash moved quietly through the room, tending to his mother’s needs.
"Are you comfortable, Mom?" Flash asked softly.
"Yes, thank you, sunshine," Page weakly responded. It was one of her "down" days; she lacked the energy even to move. She had spent the afternoon tucked away in her diary, drafting letters to those she loved most.
Flash was exhausted. He hadn’t had a full night’s rest in days—nor had his father, Blaze, who had stayed pinned to Page’s side.
"Sunshine... get some rest. You look tired," Page said, her eyes brimming with motherly concern. Even at her weakest, her instincts for her son’s well-being never wavered.
Though Flash resisted at first, he eventually slumped into a nearby chair. Blaze was already fast asleep beside the bed. Before long, Flash lost his battle with exhaustion and drifted into a deep slumber.
Page was the only one left awake. Her eyes remained fixed on Flash, watching the steady rise and fall of his chest. A strange sensation washed over her tonight—not pain or fear, but a profound sense of peace.
Her magic flickered to life, lifting a quill and a blank parchment. She had a feeling this would be the last time she saw him like this, and she had one final thing to say. She wrote slowly, her gaze never leaving her son. When she finished the brief note, she folded it and set it beside her, his name inscribed on the front.
With a soft grunt of effort, she used the last of her strength to lean toward her husband. She pressed a gentle kiss to his head.
"I am forever grateful for you, my beloved," she whispered. Blaze stirred slightly but didn't wake. "My thief who stole my heart and gave me the gift sleeping peacefully in this room. I wish I could stay longer... grow old with you... but the world has a different plan. Don't let my parting stop you from living. Your son will need you. Experience the life for me that I cannot. I love you, forever and after."
Tears of gratitude fell, landing softly on her sleeping husband. She pulled back slowly, resting her head so she could watch Flash one last time. As her eyes grew heavy, she drifted off with a smile, finally at peace.
It felt like an eternity had passed when Flash was jolted awake.
"Flash! FLASH! Wake up!"
Flash shot up, startled by his father’s frantic shaking. Sunlight streamed through the window. "What’s going on?" he asked, rubbing his eyes.
Blaze didn't answer. He only wore a look of hollow sorrow.
Flash turned toward the bed. Nurses were tending to his mother, but they weren't rushing. Their movements were somber as they began disconnecting the medical devices. Flash’s gaze landed on his mother’s face. Her muzzle held a faint smile, her eyes were closed, and every muscle was finally, completely relaxed.
Reality hit like a physical blow. She was gone.
His breathing grew heavy as he approached the bedside. No tears fell yet; his mind was still trying to process the stillness of her face. He noticed a piece of parchment tucked under her hoof. With a shaking breath, he took the paper and unfolded it.
"Szárnyalj magasan, napsugaram. A világnak sok története van, és a tiéd még mindig Ãródik. Szerelmünk az idÅ‘n túl is tart. KésÅ‘bb találkozunk, napsugaram. Szeretlek."
(Keep flying high, my sunshine. The world has many stories, and yours is still being written. Our love will last beyond time. I'll see you later, my sunshine. I love you.)
The words echoed in his head as if she were standing right beside him. Flash let the paper slip to the floor as his vision blurred. He began to shake, his teeth gritting shut as his wings flared in a sharp burst of grief.
He had been a lost colt for so long, wondering where he came from. Fate had brought him back to his mother for only a week—just long enough to find his answers before losing her again. A broken sob finally escaped him.
Blaze sat beside his son, tears rolling silently down his cheeks. He draped a heavy wing over Flash’s shoulders, offering the only comfort he could. Fate had brought them together for one week of joy and frustration, but most importantly, love. Now, it was time to mourn.
-----------------
Lore Post 3!! This one was quite heavy.
I decided to dedicate this post in honor to my Brother-In-Law's mom, who passed away almost 2 weeks ago. Rest in Peace Kathi.
Father & Son
Days had passed, and though it had only been five days, to Flash, it seemed like a lifetime. Almost every waking moment was spent at the hospital, hearing stories and sharing his own. Those awkward silences lessened after each new life story was explained. It was an emotional rollercoaster—tearful moments mixed with frustration and questions.
Flash made his way down to the food court with his father, Blaze, at his side. Flash couldn’t remember the last time he’d eaten anything besides hospital snacks. Exhaustion hung under his eyes; sleep had been a rare luxury that week. He seemed to still be processing everything—not angry, but lost in thought.
There was no exchange of words between them; Flash was too hungry to start another long conversation about the past. Reaching the vending machines first, he scanned the options, indecisive. His father did the same.
"Um... Excuse me... Mr. Flash?" a young voice spoke up, snapping Flash out of his gaze. He turned to see a young colt standing there with a worn-out, creased poster, his eyes wide with awe. Flash studied the kid for a moment, quickly realizing he had a fan in front of him.
His professional side slipped over his tired demeanor. "Hello there. Would you like my autograph?" he asked, offering a friendly smile despite his weary eyes. He sat down to be at the colt's level.
The young pony didn't say much; he simply held out the worn poster. That gesture alone spoke plenty. Flash chuckled, taking the paper and a quill. He began to sign as the young colt fluttered his wings in excitement.
Blaze, watching from a nearby machine, paused to notice the genuine smile on his son’s face. He took a moment to reflect. This young stallion, who looked so much like him, was his son. A swell of fatherly pride rose in his chest, and a small smile escaped him.
Once the fan had left, Blaze stepped up next to Flash. "Is this a frequent thing for you?" he asked.
Flash continued to smile as he watched the colt meet back up with his mother, pointing in their direction excitedly. "At times, yes. It's common in Ponyville. Though the last place you'd expect a fan is a hospital. Especially in Canterlot," Flash muttered. The colt's mother gave them a wave as her son continued to chatter about meeting his idol.
Blaze’s ears folded back as guilt crept over him. "I'm sorry. For not being around," he whispered.
Flash turned his head slightly, his soft smile remaining. "I don't think you need to apologize. All three of us have had a tough life."
Blaze still looked distraught. "Still, I should have returned to your mother. She was living a hard life before you came. Had I only faced that farmer—the one who saw her as trash—everything would have been different."
Flash could see the pain on his father’s face and he understood it. He, too, had moments where he wished things were different. But he remembered something his mother, Mrs. Skyes, had taught him: ‘The past may hurt, but you either run from it or learn from it. Take the moment now to define your future.’
"Mr. Bl... I mean... Dad," Flash said, stumbling on the name. He was still getting used to it. "The past is the past. We can only use what we’ve learned to define our next step. I’m willing to start from here and move toward a better future—as long as my father wants to join me on the journey." He draped a wing over Blaze.
Blaze looked at Flash, the words reflecting in his eyes. He responded with a reassured smile. "Of course, son. I don't want to lose any more than I already have."
Flash smiled again, folding his wing back. "I’m going to get some better food than what these machines offer. Do you want to join me, Father?"
Blaze gave an old chuckle. "Sure. I’d love to, son," he said, following close behind.

Lore Post 2 is up!!!
The Unexpected Reunion
Flash stepped through the doors of the hospital, the atmosphere changing the moment he entered. It was unsettling. He had received a visit from Mrs. Page's agent, who requested that he visit her in the hospital. What was even stranger was that the invitation was specifically for him—not even his brother or his friends could join him.
Looking around, he soon found a tired mare behind the entrance desk. As he walked up, he considered what to say while adjusting his wings.
"Excuse me, miss? I’m here for Mrs. Page," he asked.
The mare looked up at him, then down at her records. "Second floor, room 208," she muttered, pointing the way.
"Thank you," Flash said calmly, turning toward his destination. He was still confused, wondering why an author would request a meeting with him. He reached the second floor and found the room. Lifting his hoof, he gave a soft knock before slowly opening the door and stepping inside.
Upon closing the door, he looked up to see Mrs. Page. An IV was attached to her, and she wore a bandana to cover her head, which had very little mane left. She seemed to stare at Flash for a moment, her expression difficult to read.
In the same room sat an older pegasus stallion. He had oddly similar fur—a faded version of Flash's own coat—and a similar mane color. The stallion seemed frozen in place, his mouth open as if he were in awe of Flash's presence.
After a long, awkward pause, Flash cleared his throat.
"Üdvözlöm, Page asszony. Úgy hallottam, keresett engem? (Hello, Mrs. Page. I heard you were looking for me?)" Flash said, breaking the silence. Page blinked, snapping out of her trance.
"Ó, igen. Kértem, hogy gyere... ööö... Van... néhány dolog, amit meg akarok osztani veled. (Oh, yes. I did request you... um... I have... some things to share with you)," Page responded. She tried to adjust herself in bed but struggled due to her weak state.
The stallion, unsure of what was said, continued to stare until he also snapped out of his daze. Flash moved to the side of the bed and found a seat. The air in the room felt heavy, punctuated only by the muffled beeping of the heart monitor.
"My husband, Blaze Runner, wanted to thank you for taking the time to visit," Page said, switching to a language her husband could understand. Flash gave a silent nod of acknowledgment.
Page took a moment, letting out a shaky sigh.
"Many years ago, a wonderful stallion came into my sad, dreary life. He took care of me, made me feel wanted, and showered me with affection. Soon, I was pregnant with a foal. Though that foal was a great joy, I couldn't enjoy it with the stallion I loved. My husband... he chased him away while he used me for his own gain," Page began. She spoke of her marriage and how the foal she carried was her only hope—the sunshine of her life.
She continued the story, covering the tragic moment she lost her child, the time she thought he had died, and her eventually journeying to Equestria. She mentioned seeing a newspaper and the joy of realizing her son was alive, followed by the dread of not being able to tell him.
Flash listened quietly, trying to understand where this was leading. He noticed her expression softening as tears formed in her eyes.
"I... thought I was lost forever, that I'd never see my sunshine again. Even now, my body is failing. Though my time here is coming to an end, I wish to go unafraid," Page managed to mutter through her tears. She looked directly at Flash. "So now, I lay in this bed, feeling complete because... I finally get to see my son. I finally get to reach out to him after so long." A genuine smile formed on her face as if a massive weight had finally been lifted.
Flash sat there, still as a board, his eyes wide with shock. Time seemed to stop. Was this real? Was he dreaming? Had fate really reunited him with the mother he had always sought? He snapped back to reality, his breath shaking as he turned away to process the news. His wings fluffed up in confusion.
He turned back toward her. "Y...you're joking, right?" was all he could manage. Without a word, Page’s horn glowed as she levitated a nearby photo toward him. Flash took it with trembling hooves. It was a photo of him as a newborn—the coat and the small tuft of mane were unmistakable—being held by the very mare in front of him.
A second wave of shock crashed over him, freezing him in place. His breath hitched, and tears welling in his eyes finally spilled over. He collapsed forward, years of pain, confusion, and unanswered questions finally breaking loose. This was his mother.
He began to sob, unable to find any words. His wings draped open against the floor. He didn't know how long he stayed like that, but eventually, he felt another wing drape over him. A wave of warmth covered his body as he looked up to see Blaze. Flash didn't need words; he knew. He continued to weep.
Flash had finally found his parents—the very ponies he had yearned for his entire life.
