Owain looked back to his friends. He knew he did this to him. His crazy wild antics got them into this mess again. And he was gonna get them out.
âInigo. Guard Severa. I promise Iâm gonna fix this.â He unstrapped Missiletainn from his belt and planted it in the ground next to Inigo and Severa. âI promiseâŚâ Those words he held true.
He knew that risen were attracted to heat, thus why they came after living beings. They were warm, but if Owain could produce something warmer than them. Then maybe he could.. He tossed his medical supplues bag to the both of them.
âSevera, Inigo. You two are my best friends. Iâm so sorry my stupid actions got us in high water like this. Heal yourselves.â He gritted his teeth and reached into his leg pouch and pulled out a fire tome. One he had been practicing on using and it was about time he put it to good use.
âRemember? A promise is a promise.â He gave one last grin to the both of them, then to the remaining risen he saw. He wanted them away from his friends. Quietly chanting the spell he needed, fire appeared in his hands and he threw the ball of fire deep into the woodland area. It dying out before landing. But the risen followed it, thinking it was a larger group of people.
Owain casted it again, this time holding the fire steady and running from his friends with it. The risen chasing him and leaving his friends alone.
White spots rapidly clouded his vision when he felt Severaâs hand against Inigoâs open wound. âShit!â he muttered through gritted teeth.
Warm tears formed at his eyes from the searing pain. Okay⌠it was a lot worse than he anticipated. Without even thinking his hand met hers in an effort to release the pressure. Sure Severa was trying to stop the bleeding but Inigo could barely keep his focus with her hand pressing against him.Â
By the time he regained his vision, Owain had thrown Missiletainn and the medicine pouch in front of them. Only when he saw the red tome did Inigo understand what his friend was doing. A mix of emotions welled up inside him. Most of his anger had turned into fear and panic.
âPromise my ass! OWAIN!â he tried yelling but the myrmidon was already en route. After letting go of Severa, Inigo summoned all of his strength to try to stand. He was able to run a short distance after him before the white spots returned. The mercenary barely felt his feet collapse underneath him or the tears rolling down his cheeks. Hell, he didnât even feel his body hit the ground. All he felt was the agonizing pain from his side.
Grimacing, his hand gripped the gash. White had flooded his vision entirely, blocking out the rest of the world. It felt like an eternity before the white faded to black but it was really only a matter of seconds before he had lost consciousness.Â
