Caught covid early on. Suffers from long covid.

Gave Remus covid.

Wears a mask even just to take the bins out. Hasn’t been seen without plastic gloves on since 2019. Carries around a two-metre-long stick and pokes people who don’t socially distance.

Hermione

The same as Snape, minus the stick. Frequently yells at people for not wearing their mask. Makes passive aggressive posts on the neighbourhood Facebook page about people not following the guidelines.

Harry

Tries to follow the guidelines, but finds it all very confusing. Wears his mask backwards and upside down.

Ron

Wears his mask under his nose.

Neville

Hasn’t left the house since March 2020 because his grandmother is vulnerable.

Dumbledore

Reluctantly put his staff on furlough and took them off it as soon as he could. Will not adapt to home working.

O: I'm going to say one word. Ferret.

W: I love prompts and finding ways to sort of test the boundaries with them, or explore different angles. So one day last year I received a message with a rather elaborate prompt regarding Severus and Draco. It felt entirely romantic to me, and since I firmly headcanon Severus as Draco’s godfather, that didn’t work for me. But there was a line about Draco talking to Severus about being turned into the ferret, and you and I latched onto that. I mean, obviously that’s been a big thing in the fandom for a while; it wasn’t like it was new to us. It just came on the heels of our collection about Lucius, and I don’t think we could let it go. I am glad we didn’t end up calling this Ferret when we published, though. (Also I’m laughing, but since this is text, you sadly can’t hear me.)

O: Remember when we said we were going to aim for around 2000 words? I believe we used the term “sweet spot”

W: I have trouble letting go of things, clearly. This was a hostage situation. Luna and Draco are my cohorts. Joking aside, I do have to laugh, because I have only ever written one multi-chapter fic in my life (years ago) and have only written one-shots since then. I can’t even write a paragraph with my own original characters. And then we open up our docs and just put out this novella. It’s hilarious we thought we could get this all out in a range of 4000-5000 words between the two of us. Looking back at that just makes me smile (fondly, of course).

O: Yes I straight up cackle at our naïveté. The whole process was very fluid and I love how we just went with it. One thing our readers may not know is that we wrote this series out of order. I was the keeper of the timeline, and it did morph as we kept churning out material.
