I always have trouble answering this question because I find all types of flowers absolutely beautiful, and I'll always say I'm a sucker for good old-fashioned roses but... If I had to choose a more specific one, I'd say it's the Black Dahlia!

Black Dahlias can go from crimson to a very lovely shade of purple! They're not completely black despite their name saying so, and I find them very stunning.

Let's forget for a moment that the theme doesn't match with the exact moments of the seasons.,,, I just thought that the idea and the composition worked, so to hell with it.

This idea came out of a picture I saw that had a really cool composition, and I REALLY wanted to make something a bit more surrealistic. The reference itself had a painting behind it, and I didn't think about putting the Primavera at first, but then I backtracked. After a few adjustments I managed to make it work with the drawing, so ta-da!!!

Well, Clarice - have the lambs stopped screaming?

Watched The Silence of the Lambs a month ago and instantly regretted not seeing it sooner. I don't typically come up with ideas while watching the movie itself, but this one was a special occasion.

So anyways, here it is! I tried to go with the palette from the original movie poster while adding my own touch and composition to give it a bit more of a change (or at least I tried to).

Said I'd lie and wait forever...

Merry Christmas! This start of the semester has been hectic, and I haven't had any proper time to sit down and work through the pile of unfinished drawings that have been piling up.,, but there's still Christmas up ahead, so I'll try to polish them and start posting them around here.

I know I've been having a heavy fixation with the lovers, but it's JUST too tempting not to whenever an idea with them pops into my mind. I did this one for a Halloween expo, and it came out amazing! People loved it.

The dread of not knowing if it was going to align well had me in a chokehold, not gonna lie. Joined together at last by a single red thread and their own hearts in their sleeves for all to see.

THE DEMOLITION LOVERS PT 2

Second part! I wanted it to have a big contrast since the Demolition Lady has a lot of white and the Demolition Man a lot of black. Adding blood to somehow insinuate the form of his torso also seemed like a fun idea to try while also maintaining the reference from Eugene's photos.

Both bound by a bleeding heart. Isn't that romantic?

I'll make a final post tomorrow using both so the double poster can be seen more clearly. They both deserve to have their own separate post together!

THE DEMOLITION LOVERS PT 1

First part of a double poster I decided to make of the Demolition Lovers and based on a series of photos made by Eugene Robert Richee that portrayed the Hollywood star Louise Brooks.

I'm really looking forward to the new concerts in the UK and Europe. Long Live the Black Parade has been absolutely nuts and I can't wait to see and watch them live.
