Chapter Two: Sweet, Now Posted!

Pulling into my driveway, I put the car in park and take my keys out of the ignition. “Come on,” I say, “let’s you get you warmed up.” He doesn’t move to get out of the vehicle or turn to me when I speak; he just stays seated, staring at the dashboard.

“Harry,” I say a little louder, causing him to snap his head toward me. He looks at me confusedly, and then glances behind me out the window to take in his surroundings. “We’re at my place. I’ll bring you home in a bit, but let’s just go inside, okay?”

I watch his Adam’s apple bob as he swallows, reaching over for the handle to get out of the car. I wait as he emerges, and begin walking to the side door with him next to me.
