I'm As Cool As She Thinks I Am

My art school is full of digital painters, and they are influencing me a lot 💕💕💕 I remember being very frustrated by not being able to draw what I saw in my head in February, so this was a very cathartic redraw :)

Details!

-Needy Beast is playing live in the back!!!

-I tried to put as many characters from the best of you as I could :)

-I grouped the crowd away from Steph & Pete to make it feel like they were having a private moment even in a crowded room

-My friend is slowly infecting me with the love for Batman, but mostly I’ve been getting into Robin instead, so that’s why I made it Pete’s costume. Ive got an opportunity to combine two things I’m into and I’m supposed to not do it??

-Steph is Starfire ofc, I feel like she could really pull it off 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

-Richie is Naruto because he Naruto runs in the Waylon Hall

-Ruth is a dinosaur because she’s got dinosaurs on her backpack

-I feel like Grace comes from one of those religious houses that say Halloween is demonic, so I couldn’t picture her dressing up. The most I could picture is her agreeing to come to Halloween festivities to save the souls of the others, but I feel like she’d get into it too much. Therefore, enjoying the horror movie the most out of everyone. Secretly, of course.

-I was also picturing the conversation that must’ve led to Steph & Pete taking the couch and the others sitting on the floor and giggling to myself as I was drawing this 😭😭😭

-Tinky is running counter-clockwise because he helped Ted turn back time

-The clock has almost hit 12 as symbolism for the end of Ted’s life

Some general thoughts:

-Steph took Pete’s sweater hehe.

-I feel like Pete still wears the suspenders under the sweater idk man

-Also they’re always color coordinating, therefore green suspenders

-Steph and Pete face each other because they had the chance to confront their feelings for each other, so they’re on more equal footing

-We don’t see Jenny’s face because we honestly don’t know much about her, and because maybe Ted has started to forget what she looked like

-Jenny is wearing the wedding dress

-This is also the most far fetched reference to that cut dance move in Best of You where Pete was gonna get on one knee for the “absconded, beloved” lyric

-It’s also a vague allusion to yin and yang. Lautski represent the lovers of Hatchetfield, the possibility of a happy ending after some dark moments. Ted shows what happens when you don’t confront your feelings and let them turn you into a bastard (lol)
