I wish from the bottom of my heart

"yeah, i saw those. there's one that looks like a donut and the other that makes up its hole, right?"

she tries glancing out the window for them now, but they're on the wrong side of the diner to catch the view. taking another sip of her milkshake, giselle glances back at oliver while feeling a touch bit anxious.

"it's not—it can't be the sun, right? we haven't even done anything yet!"

It'd be easier to explain when she saw the sun the next morning. For now, it was already set. It was evening, and the sky was a different hue from its usual bright, clear blue.

"This world doesn't need to be saved. At least not like ours, you know?"

Their food arrives and is placed on the table. Oliver doesn't dig in just yet, trying to gauge her reaction at least.

“That is very kind of you to say to me, Oliver. I appreciate the attempt at boosting my confidence. You always try your hardest. You are a very good friend, you know that?”

There’s a pause. Chara’s eyes drift to the window, at the fairgrounds below. They swallow.

Of course, Chara probably already knew that. They saw him at his monstrous part. Maybe not at its full potential, but still. It was something.

"you're at least 5th—no, 6th place on my list of people to dream about!"

ugh, oliver was so embarrassing. you couldn't just say things like that, it sounded weird!

"The sunny side up! It's really good. You'll see." he gives her another big grin, and when the server comes to take their order, he's ordering for them both, cheerfully.

Chara looks down at Oliver's offered hand, hesitates for a moment, but reaches out to clasp it in their own. Hopefully they’re not shaking too much.

The duo climb into the ferris wheel. Chara holds their breath as they settle down, crossing their ankles as and gripping the seat with their empty hand.

The Ferris Wheel. Oliver has never been on it, and this is the first time he's up so high like this. Amazing!

His attention is on the kid now. He knows that Chara is a little frightened of being high up. Though a little is probably an understatement.

He grabs hold of Chara's hand and squeezes tight.

"They say the more you expose yourself, the more you get used to things that scare you. I dunno how true that is though."

"sSsip. ok, so spill."

"h-hey, back up a sec."

"i just got my nails done!"

she brandishes her manicure at oliver and makes a tiny hissing sound, like a beast about to pounce. everyone knows the strength of team 76's vanguard and his weirdo limb, so she's keeping him at least at arm's length!

"geez, you're like a dog. how'd you track me so fast? and where'd the cafeteria go?" on cue, her stomach growls.

It is a shame that the others aren't here, but to see Giselle here, it's nice. He's happy or something.

"One day, I'll teach you how to swim, too! How about it?"

Chara hadn’t wanted to come to the festival, but — it’s Oliver. He’s their best friend here on the island, and so when he invited them? Chara said yes.
