didn’t want to jinx anything by blabbing on it before it was a lock but we bought a house ! funniest part was it’s only 3 blocks from our current apartment so we’ve been walking by it nearly every evening watching progress of the repairs and talking about what we want to do with the yard, etc. have already met some neighbors, had a good sense of the vibe of the block, never heard/saw anything out of the ordinary. last night we get the keys and go over there—less than 5 minutes later, we hear LOUD drumming start up across the street lol

talking to a friend earlier this year before the world cup started who was adamant that “philly doesn’t have the infrastructure for this, it’s going to be a disaster” which turned out to not be true for the world cup but i think absolutely will be for lebron. he’s going to hit that city like a hydrogen bomb

maybe twice a year i have a week at work where i inexplicably have literally nothing to do. working from home today is like, spending 45 minutes reading an email newsletter i usually delete without opening, then taking a break to make a pot of coffee

look i’m as much of a crank as anyone on the internet and generally go out of my way to find the more reliable, more repairable machine that’s not overloaded with quick to break gimmicky electronics. but when it comes to washing machines i absolutely can’t stand the freaks who defend top load agitator machines to their dying breath. once you look at how much more you spend in water and electricity annually there’s no way to justify the traditional top loaders, even if they’re repairable for 25+ years. the high efficiency machines pay for themselves in operating costs in like 5 years, even if the motherboard fries that early just get a new one
