I was wondering if there was anything to the idea that, because (on the whole) marginalized communities are more concerned with interpersonal respect and power than dominant communities, and therefore more into things like machismo or anti-gay sentiment, that that leads to the high per-capita trans death rates.

Like. Maybe im dumb right, but if a community is obsessed with men being men and not being gay, then it would make sense that what few gay or trans people there are who are willing to come out are more subject to violence-- especially sexual violence.

to suggest that black (and i do know that by "marginalised" you mean "black") communities are the primary danger in black trans women's lives is anti-black as fuck, plain and simple. white supremacy is and has been the primary driver behind what makes misogyny, homophobia, and transphobia extra deadly for black trans women. and the idea that said phobias are somehow more deeply held in black communities than white (and i do know that by "dominant" you mean "white") communities is an anti-black lie. dont even get me started on what you're trying to insinuate by implying black communities are uniquely obsessed with men or particularly rampant with sexual violence compared to white communities. FOH
