On one hand, Cassie is bashful and easily flustered in typical social settings; on the other, she possesses a zany, eccentric streak that shines through once she feels safe. She has a massive, empathetic heart and a strong-willed determination, though her inherent naivety can sometimes cloud her judgment.
When it comes to her passions, she is intensely detail-oriented and a remarkably quick thinker, capable of analyzing complex patterns in seconds—whether those patterns belong to a migrating pod of aquatic creatures or a card game strategy.

Growing up near the coast, Cassie was always more comfortable in the water than on land. She spent her childhood combing the shoreline, studying tidal pools, and sketching marine life. Her deep fascination with the ocean shaped her entire worldview.
When Cassie entered high school, she struggled slightly to fit in due to her bashful and zany nature, but she quickly found a welcoming community in the Chaotic card game. Because of her love for the ocean, she naturally gravitated toward playing aquatic creatures. She would spend hours meticulously organizing her decks, analyzing the stats of water-based creatures, adaptable strategies to outsmart her opponents.
Seeing her immense passion for the game, Cassie’s parents wanted to get her a real Scanner for her birthday. They told her she just needed to pick a color. Not knowing the specific lore or tribal associations of the colors at the time, Cassie was initially torn, leaning heavily toward a customized sea foam green simply because it reminded her of the ocean. However, right near the time she had to make her final decision, a Chaotic commercial aired announcing a massive new deck set and the arrival of a brand new tribe: The M'arrillians. Mesmerized, Cassie was instantly hooked. She knew right then that she had found her true allegiance and requested her Scanner to be black.
Months later, Cassie received the ultimate surprise: Chaotic code. Transported to the chaotic, she was thrilled to take her gameplay to the next level.
In Perim, Cassie is an explorer first and a battler second. Armed with her custom waterproofed Scanner, she frequently teleports to the Riverlands, the oceans of the OverWorld, and the flooded ruins of the Deep Mines. She rarely visits the cramped, claustrophobic places like the tunnels of the Underworld or the dusty deserts of the Mipedians. She treats Perim as a boundless, undiscovered ocean waiting to be studied, often spending hours tracking the migration patterns of aquatic creatures just to get the perfect scan.
While her big heart makes her a loyal ally to her friends in the Chaotic, her naivety can be a liability in Perim. She has a bad habit of trusting the creatures she studies, occasionally forgetting that the M'arrillians are masters of manipulation.
