Figured, as a treat, I'd show y'all a lil sneak peek of something I've been working on with Sally and Fem! Ring a Ding. Don't know when I'll finish it, but hopefully sooner rather than later!
Lux imperator drawings!
Here are some doodles of the design for Lux. I tried to go with a mix of firefly and mantis, also I added fuzz to make it more insect like. Inspired by king candy cybug ofc.
Also I LOVE drawing him uncanny. Cartoony & somewhat realistic.

Anyway- young Lucy and lux, if I had to sum up their relationship in a image, it would probably be this. Lux is the cool older cousin, that may or may not be a really bad influence, and Lucy is the ever malleable younger cousin seeking praise and approval that lux just so happens to give when Lucy does something he’s not supposed to
Anywayyyy I WAS TRYING OUT NEW STUFF WITH GRADIENT MAPS LOWKEY and a big thanks to @l1me0p0ssum for making such a cool young lux design that I just HAD to use, ofc I changed a few things to fit what I imagine to be lux’s mandatory heavenly pantheon attire, I always see people depicting lux’s true form as a star, but I always image he’s very confident in his form and ego, and tbh he wouldn’t change very much because he likes the way he looks, stupid egomaniac-
I always like seeing the nose ring on religious figures so I gave lux one ofc and this took so long with so many layers lol RIP

I don’t know if I’ll do much with him, but this is my OC that will, occasionally, be shipped with Ring/Sally!
A few things to note: Any ship art I make involving him with Ring or Sally all take place in the past, way before Ring and Sally even met. In the present, Ring and Sally are actually married and have a mutual disdain for him as he is…. Not a good person in the slightest

i think i took the "good art can't save a bad story" argument a little too seriously as a younger artist, and it scared me out of writing and making comics for YEARS
as if thousands of people (including myself) have never loved stories that are paced poorly, have terrible dialogue, are full of plot holes, are offensive, etc
People often forget that they've got to give themselves the benefit of the doubt when it comes to their stories and characters, especially if they're making the entire story by themselves. If you're the writer, storyboarder, artist, AND the polisher, you have to accept at some level that something's not going to be perfect, and that's ok!
If stories that have multiple writers and artists can have problems with pacing, dialogue, and plot holes, then maybe it's ok if your one man team has them too!
Making a perfect story that has zero problems shouldn't be your goal, just putting your work out there for people to enjoy should be
