pretty much everyone knows the beatles but sometimes when i listen to them it really sets in how like. they were here. they did that. they were four 20-year-olds from liverpool who dared to write tender love songs when men were expected to be tough and unfeeling. everyone knew who they were, they were so utterly alone, some of the first people to be famous in that sheer caliber. a collection of groundbreaking albums, scores of catchy singles remembered decades later. they were strangers. then they were friends, artists, time travelers. they were witty, brilliant, so stupid, sensitive, soft. they were awful, prickly, generous, understanding. but through it all, they were brothers. and in a matter of years, they were strangers once again.
